I was a bit worried since this place gets mixed reviews, but we got a lovely room (studio, room 115) on the first floor. The room was facing the street, but since it is a quiet area this was no problem regarding noise from the street. The room had big south facing windows, so lots of light and easy to get some fresh air. Room was quite big for London, and the bed was nice and big as well, comfy and with a real duvet. Bathroom was nice and clean and had a bathtub + shower and plenty of towels, soaps etc. Nice little kitchen, sofa and dining area. We did not use the hotel breakfast restaurant but bought bread, fresh fruit, yoghurt etc. from the nearby shops. There is a big organic supermarket just 2-300 meters from the hotel and also lots of other shops (Tesco, Sainsbury's, M&S Food +more). There are coffee and tea making facilities in the room. Location is really convenient, close to Bayswater, Queensway and Paddington Tube stations. Hyde Park is a 10 minute walk away, and we also walked to Portobello Road. Just behind the hotel is a Barclay's bicycle hire station. Brilliant concept - pay £1 per bike pr. day and after that you just take out a bike, drive to whereever you are going and leave it at another docking station. The docking stations are all over town, and if you use the bike 30 minutes or less, it is free. This was a perfect way for us to explore the city and avoid the sometimes congested tube. Maps of all the docking stations are available at Tourist Informations. Whiteley's shopping mall is just 200 meters from the hotel. It's a quiet place but has some of the high street shops, a cinema, restaurants etc. A nice place. On the main road, Queensway, is a lot of reasonably priced restaurants. We also went to a very popular Persian restaurant, Anoulak, just next to the organic supermarket. Very popular, so we had to queue, but absolutely worth it and very reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the apartment for 6 nights and it was great for 3 (2 adults and one teenager). Kitchen was well equipped and the fat we had Wifi and TVs (channels) in both rooms was great. Also, location near Queensway road , including the two metro stations (Bayswater and Queensway) supported our daily trips into London. The rooms should be published as 2 rooms on two different levels (the bedroom was 12 stairs below the living room which included the kitchen). ...but we got used to it afetr a day.

The location and the helpful porter by the name of Raphael. Poor service at reception during our check-in. The guy handling our check-in didn't get his name because he didn't wear a name tag was very cold, unhelpful, and not courteous at all. No greetings, no please, and no thank you. He shouldn't be in the service industry at all furthermore to handle guests.

Just a short walk to Bayswater station. Lots of shops and places to eat near by. It was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on and all the door handles were falling apart.

Additional space and flexibility offered by an apartment as opposed to a hotel. The staff were generally very good, especially the staff who serviced the rooms. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day. Beginning to show some wear in the corridors and public areas. Reception staff were good, but the actual reception process on arrival was a little slow - waiting in a very crowded lobby as we were not permitted to check in 20 minutes before the stated time.

Location is excellent if you like to stay in that part of London. You can get hotel facilities in apartments. And 24 hours front desk is good that you cannot find easily in other serviced apartments in London. We stayed a double executive apartment but there was only one chair in the apartment although there is kitchinette and so it is expected that we could have our meals in apartment. It was the third time we stayed in Grand Plaza and we had a double executive apartment second time having steps combining the bedroom to the living area which could be problem for people having walking problems.

Very Disappointed. I booked an 'Executive'. one bedroom apartment. The bedroom wasn't too bad except the bed filled the room except for a one foot space around it. The only mirror was on the wardrobe door and the TOPof it was four foot from the ground. It could only be used by sitting on the end of the bed.Bathroom passable. Living area in which there was a 'put you up couch' was by any standards very small. I think it was far too expensive for what it was. I would not dream of staying there again and doubt whether \i would ever use \booking. com again. Henry Howard.

I enjoyed the easy acess, close to everything London, centralized location of this hotel. Also the apartment style rooms were exactly what we wanted. Liked having free laundry facility as well and being able to have breakfast on site before we set out for the day was a big plus.

My husband and I traveled with our 2 young children (ages 1 and 2). The apartments offered free use of high chairs and cots and on request placed us in an easy access room as we were traveling with a double pram. We stayed in the family room which had good kitchen facilities, a dining table and plenty of room for the children to move around. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The close location of the apartments to Hyde Park, local supermarkets and the underground train stations were a big influence in deciding to stay there as well as the cost of the room. Would definitely stay there again.

Good location, reasonable price, kitchen facilities, friendly staff Mattresses must be replaced. I could feel the springs on my back. The problem was solved by the offer of the staff to place two quilts on the mattress. This solved the problem and made sleeping very comfortable

Location and the reception staff helpful. Bath was great given not many rooms have baths in uk and Europe. The complentary 1 load of washing for room included and wifi was great too. However we were not given correct password at checkin and then we finally able to get access was very slow and dropped out on check out we were told was several we had access to because of this, yet not explained at checkin to us when we asked about free wifi access. If moderate noise is not an issue for you and you dont mind lugging your bags thru 15 plus fire doors and up passages and up and down stairs then this is a well located hotel with all the facilities one needs. A The room was located next to lift that in the end I had the complain about as the noise if the cable was so concerning, needed urgent maintainence. In fairness they did adress this once I reported it, given tbe amount of people usibg it and making comment of they thought would fail I was surpused when they said no one had reported it. I cannot belueve housekeeping had ignored such a noise, nor had they ensured the bathroom/toilet door off bedroom was shutting. On the 2nd night the noise wasnt as bad but the hotel is a rabbits warren of oassages an stairs so bring in the furthest section and on 3rd flr of 4 storey was very difficult to get suitcases to lift 3 in section we had as well as steps down in passage outside room meant alot of noise from internal. I think the best option if have large suitcases like we did given 6 weeks of travel is to request main building reception is in and top flr. Room was adequate but our room needed new carpet and coat if paint, The internet photos were not representative of our apartment but these were proabably in the main building.

I was really unsure after booking the Grand Plaza because the reviews we're so mixed but the apartment are great. We were on the top floor so it was very quiet for us the room was just as the website showed. We had plenty of room for the three of us, the room was clean and the shower is really good. The location is perfect. This is not really a dislike, I didnt book breakfast because I felt it was to expensive. We just went to M&S/Tesco, which are right down the road and bought food after all your staying in an apartment and theres a fridge, hobs, kettle, microwave all bowls plates and cutlery provided. So we had a great breakfast everyday for a couple of pounds. Also the first night is charged for straight away but it does state that it will be refunded if you cancel before the cancellation date.

We brought our two granddaughters to London for a night to go on the Buckingham Palace tour and especially to see Kate Middleton's wedding dress. We didn't want the girls sharing our room, but we didn't like the idea of them being in a room of their own along a corridor somewhere, so the Grand Plaza was perfect. We had a one bedroom appartment, we had the bedroom and the girls slept on the sofa bed in the living room. We also had a bathroom and little kitchen- had we stayed longer we would have done some self- catering which would have saved money- as it was we were able to make tea and hot chocolate. A perfect solution for families with older children or grandparents like us. Definitely stay there again.

The location at Bayswater suited our needs with walking access available via Hyde Park to the tourist locations of Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street, etc. It was also close to groceries, tube, restaurants and other services. It also felt reasonably safe. It was very clean, with linen and towels changed daily. Laundry suited with 24 hour turnaround. Having an apartment below ground level was a different experience, with no view outside. Maybe should be advertised as a possibility with pricing to reflect.

Nothing good to say about the hotel. Thought its value for money but it wasnt Online we were shown pictures of a luxury executive double bedroom studio apartment but I was in for a shock when we saw our room .. Two single cots joined together n that too one was sunken and another high ... Complained to the reception they changed the room ... It was in the basement surrounded by workers rooms or laundry room... Very noisy... Everytime somebody walked on the floor above it would shake the room window panes ..stinking worst bit was founding lots of moths in there ...my whole trip was spoiled... I took pictures of the room we were offered n stayed in ..wish I could put them on ... Shocking I would never go back there and would not suggest anyone to that hotel

The size of the room was great with all the necessary facilities and the location of the hotel was great for access to all we needed. The girls on front reception were very helpful and polite. We had a room on the ground floor and all the outside noise could be heard as well as all of the guest going to their rooms. I cannot believe that did not have double glazed windows when they are on such a busy street. I found the male staff at the reception desk to be extremely rude and full of their own self importance, I think they thought they were working at the Ritz.

We thought the hotel was very very poor, we did not enjoy our stay at all at this hotel, we got a free upgrade on arrival but it was more of a downgrade as we were but in the basement which was more like a dungeon, the apartment was scruffy and unkept, the lighting in the room was very poor and the view was non existent, the be was so uncomfortable and I would definatley not recommend these apartments to any friends or family!!!! Everything, see above, the room was scruffy, poor lighting, uncomfortable bed and I will not be recommending it to anybody!!!

There were no aspects of this hotel that could be rated 'best'. The apartments were not as described at all. The booking claimed there would be a bedroom and there was no bedroom; there was no cable TV; the internet barely worked; the room was tiny; the drain in the shower didn't drain properly and the bathroom sink was so small it was nearly impossible to use it to wash.
