Staff, Room, Location, Facility's, Price as not anything like the internet.
Location is awful!
The Victorian workmanship.
Bathroom basin U-bend requires a clean out, I know its a small thing but it is also a really annoying when it takes an age to drain.
My partner able to do her morning run in the park Gorgeous hotel .....very old fashoioned with lots of character Free apples 2 mins from tube and handy buses nearby Shops & Restaurants nearby
Breakfast a bit pricy......might be worth having a cheaper rate for veggie continental or such like
Staff were excellent, polite and welcoming. We had a very specific complaint, asked to speak with the duty manager first thing in the morning and the problem was dealt with professionaly and quickly.
Our superior double room was so small it was impossible to access my side of the bed without crawling over the bed to get into it. The bathroom was tiny.....standing sideways towards the toilet was the only way to close the door. Then a juggling act to access the wash hand basin once the door was closed. We had actually been given one of the smallest rooms in the hotel which was classed as a superior double. There were further problems.....we complained and were given another room, in the basement!! Apparently the hotel was fully booked.
Good price for most expensive part of London. Hotel Manager Alexandr Henskens is best of the best !!!
Small room, wifi very poor, heating system not comfortable
Good location for the Tube station Very nice breakfast
The bedroom was far to small
would no hesitate to book again good location. on the central line, walking distance to Paddington, as long is price is right.
The lobby, reception and breakfast area are really lovely. So beautiful. Breakfast was great and fresh. Girl in reception was good even if she changed our rooms to similar ones. Bellboy service was great. Man in reception not so very nice but OK.
Our rooms were so incredibly small we had to work hard not to fall over the suitcases. It was impossible to stay two persons in the room, and absolutely impossible to even try to open the suitecase. I have never seen such small rooms in my life. Calling them Doublerooms is a joke, calling them Doubleroom Superior is a scandal. We got to change rooms for our second night but that maneuver turned out to be totally useless and a waste of time as the new room was just as small. What a joke. View from room was a joke too, felt like a dirty suburbian backyard of really poor people.
Exceptional value friendly ,curteous staff and a good location. We will happily recommend and return when next in London. Thanks
Situated midway between Bayswater and Queensway tube stations and very near Hyde Park.
Good location to tube Accommodating staff when asked to move room was no problem
Had to ask to move rooms as original room was so small that we were tripping over each other Second room bigger however noisy as under reception uncomfortable bed and tiny bathroom however preferred this to the claustrophobic first bedroom! Marks on wallpaper, tired carpet needed upgrade to ground floor. Was my 21st birthday celebration and unfortunately was disappointed with this hotel and not value for money.
Bar not open during the day
Decor, staff, breakfast!
Too hot in bedroom until we turned everything off. Grubby fingermarks on door to bathroom.
A wonderful old building the internal decoration of the public areas is fantastic. Yet the room was modern and basic. The staff were very polite and helpful, the website says they all speak English which is true but it is their second language :-)
I was suprised by the condition of the local area. I thought Kensington and Hyde park were posh. The prices in the poorly stocked bar were alarming.
So much of the original features kept you felt you were in the 19th Century. Wonderful painted ceilings, painted glass windows, carved oak, decorated plaster details on walls and ceilings. The bed was big and comfortable, the pillows good and the bathroom had all the facilities in a clean modern design. The staff were lovely and really helpful. I would stay here again but perhaps upgrade to a larger room.
The bedroom was small and the windows not really soundproof. The wardrobe was also small.
Great place to stay as it is so close to Hyde park & the central line. Amazing breakfast & the ambience was welcome.
Pleasant, helpful staff. Location. Comfort. Wi fi.
Location and room size.
Short circuit in my room burnt 2 of my chargers.
No complaints at all.
Upgraded to a room with a four poster, good room, good nights sleep
The lift. Room for 1 person and slow!
Location! Price Staff were very friendly and helpful Beautiful reception area
Room was very small but this is expected in a central London hotel. Water pressure for the shower was poor. Although we were on the 7th floor which is to be expected.
good location for Tube and Hyde Park and Kensington Palace
the room was not a lot bigger than a cupboard and we allegedly got an upgrade ......from what ??
The location, Breakfast was great and staff was very helpful and friendly.
