very friendly staff, clean, very good breakfast, all round great place to stay
the only small point i could make is limited parking but they are apparently having a new carpark built
Friendliness of Staff
Staff were exceptional despite my demands at all hours. Great effort!
Shower was very poor. I expected a power shower, I got a leaky gutter.
A welcoming, quiet, restful stay after a long day at work.
comfortable beds clean hot water bath
lack of parking spaces
The old world style was nice and the staff were very pleasant. The manager who I talked to --Mark is it?? was very unpleasant on the phone but that is not how the rest of the staff work. The barman was lovely as were the waitresses and especially the blonde girl who i think was the receptionist at the desk.
Where is the necessary lift???It is terrible in this day and age that the staff have to carry huge suitcases upstairs for customers. I managed my own but I met the receptionist carting a massive suitcase up for a guest and I think that is ridiculous. I know it is an old building but I have been in old establishments often and all had lifts.
REAL FRIENDLY STAFF, HELPFUL, GOOD FOOD
Rob gave a wonderful welcome and was friendly and humorous whilst making sure I had everything I needed - thanks Rob!
The waitress at breakfast was a bit frosty - not quite up to the standard of the other staff.
Couldn't ask for more
The staff was nice and polite and it was a comfy night sleep!
Didn't like the view from the hotel window as all the back of the building had been knocked down and bricks and stuff all over, plus when we got to are room it was or ready open with work stuff in there such as, a ladder set up, a tool box in the middle of the room and a tool box on the bed! Yes we was asked if we wanted to switch rooms but I feel as though we should of been put in a room with out the view we had and in a room in which some body wasn't working still!
The staff, nothing was to much trouble.
Good eating and drinking facilities. Nice bedroom and bathroom.
Location leds itself to high traffic noise, particularly for the front bedrooms which lack double glazing!
Very friendly, helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Very clean. Short £5 cab ride from the station.
If you are going for the racecourse, you have to cross 4 dual carriageways with no crossings / lights and you take your life in your hands. No other amenities in the near vicinity. Although the rooms are fairly spacious and very clean, they are still very expensive for what they are.
bus stop outside good tv and toiletries easy Wi-Fi login and FREE nice friendly staff I would definitely stay here again
difficult to cross road in any direction no lift--listed property That apart worth staying at
Building and fittings Breakfast Bath Large TV
Size of bed and room Parking Derelict site at rear
Friendly staff Excellent breakfast Short walk to towm centre Close to racecourse
staff could not be more helpfull breakfast and night meal could not have been better
Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Very tired hotel with an awful eyesore demolition yard behind. Needs some serious updating throughout. Evening meal was just ok, £8.95 breakfast was awful, what I can only describe like powdered scrambled egg so full of water it turned toast into mush. Would not stay again.
location comfort and breakfast
on a busy road junction
Friendly & efficient staff. Comfortable & adequate room.Large bathroom. Excellent breakfast with a good choice menu. Free parking.
Needed to be a rocket scientist to get the TV to work.(No instructions & 2 remotes!) No real ale in bar!
very comfortable bed, lovely large flat screen tv very conveniently situated
the view from the window was looking put onto a building site where they are knocking down the old stable blocks for the racecourse. . They will eventually extend the hotel. Modernisation has to be but will be great when all work finished. There was no noise so just don't look out of the windowv!!
The room was very nice. It was a shame about the view. The staff where we're very friendly. I would recommend this hotel very highly.
The view from our bedroom window was a demolition site.
Location was close to the Race course
The breakfast was excellent!
Room a bit small but comfortable... no remote for set top box
