Convenient location. Cheap! The staff were pleasant and accomodating. They must be embarrassed by the overall decay of the place. The hotel was dirty and had seen better days. The pictures on the website make it look modern and attractive. Reality is a very different matter. The bedrooms hadn't been cleaned very well. The tea trays in both rooms had spilt tea on them .1 of the kettles was growing mould or other live matter and the carpets didn't appear to have been hoovered for a long time. The only saving grace was that the bed linen and towels were spotless. I now know why it was so cheap. I'd thought that the price had been an internet early bird deal. It was cheap cos it was old and neglected

not a lot rooms were clean - we were downgraded even though we made our booking in july. No one rang to ask if it were okay to downgrade our rooms our consolation was that we paid half and were given a crap bottle of wine if we had known that the food was so awful we would have booked room only and gone elsewhere to eat - i hate mcdonalds but it would have been preferential to what we were served at breakfast. We booked a standard single room but were given rabbit hutches with old decrepit furniture that was falling apart the beds were rock hard and so uncomfortable that one of my party of four was more comfortable sleeping in a chair rather than the bed the dinner and breakfast were actually vile swimming in grease and kept warm under hot lights quite disgusting and as a health and safety manager i am positive that this presents health risks to your consumers. If I am not supposed to used this review for complaints who is going to listen the reception is tooo small for the hotel and cannot cope with the number of residents. there were remnents of the previous occupants in my room their tea trays which were used /dirty were still in the room.

The location. We used it because it is in a convenient situation, its proximity to ferry services abroad. The hotel itself is tired looking. Many of the staff are not customer friendly. There is a real lack of choice in breakfast choice in comparison with many hotels of a similar size. The noise from the air conditioning units made it impossible for many residents on lower floors to open windows.

Location and access to local facilities. Attitude of reception staff on arrival. Lack of parking facilities, I would suggest that you charge for parking and reimburse people when their room has been allocated.

The fact that i'm not there anymore This is an incredibly run down, formerly grand, large hotel which was full of pensioners on coach trips. I booked to include half board and the restaurant is basically a school canteen laid out in formica tables, with single choice of a meal which was cooked to death. Water was available with your meal but no way ot order anything else. I also booked aroom wiht a seating area and a sea view. Certainly had a view of the harbour, as for the seating area, there certainly was a seat by the window. No pillow cases, no lamp shade and the room was filthy, paint peeling,lifts all broken and don't get me started on the bath! At 7:15 there really was a full on announcement that cash bingo was about to start. The rooms not occupied by the pensioners were all occupied by what I really do think were dss funded asylum seekers. I stay in a lot of hotels on business and this must the very worst of all of them by some stretch.

Tthe reception staff were extremely helpful and responded very quickly to the dirty towels we found in the room I stayed for one night and was not 'best pleased to be woken up TWICE by the fire alarm going continually in the early hours.This was followed by the maid coming in to clean the room just after 9am Following on from that they were insistant we had to check out by 10 am as they were so busy.!! and then there was breakfast ! I am not a fussy eater but most of it was unedible,with an extremely poor choice especiallly where the so called fresh fruit was.It cost me £120 for one night which is not exactly Grand ! pretty much like the hotel. I wont be going back,in fact I think I deserve a refund

The Hotel was clean and tidy, rooms well furnished. Fantastic view of the harbor and the boats. The walls are paper thin and you can hear people in other rooms talking and malking a lot of noise. Fire alarm went of twice in the night first at 5.10am then ten minites later this totaly disrupeted our nights sleep.

We liked the easy going atitude of the staff and the comfortable chairs and tables,and the self service restaraunt. Having stayed many times at your hotel,we was dissapointed with the entertainment side,I.e same routines and same people doing them,it got a bit boring,and we would have thought over the xmas period you should have engaged some outside entertainment.Very surprised you allowed dogs in !!I actually had flea bites over my arms!!I Assume it from the dogs and not the bed?its never happened before ! If it is now a policy of the hotel to allow dogs in,we would have to consider another hote( its not that we don,t like dogs,we have 2 ourselves ,but time&place?}

Even though this hotel caters for the more mature adult, it is very good value for money, location for euro shopping, and comfort.

It was far better than I expected. The rooms were fully functional and the bathroom was good - with instant hot water. And plenty of towels, Any problems I identified were sorted quickly and efficiently. It was large with long corridors bvut lifts were efficient. Breakfast was good - self serve with plenty of choice. The Wifi was good but only in central areas. I will certainly return again. It was excellent value for money No complaints

the hotel was in a great location for my blind grandad to visit his sister who lives in folkstone The one thing that was wrong with the hotel was the fact i took my blind grandfather and disabled nan to the hotel asking when i booked that they would be put in a disabled room, the room was lovely and wheel chair friendly but i could not put my nan in the shower as we had a bath not a walk in shower
