I like the historical places and the general area
ambiance my room was excellent great sea views
staff that were not welcoming, glass full of dogends on my balcony, complimentary water already opened and when complained didnt seem that bothered. No minibar.
Queuing for breakfast.
Great shower, with a bidet! Nice bed. Good sized TV. Hot chocolate sachets in the room, and one of those new coffee machines. Wonderful staff - you would expect that, but the concierge/stewards were friendly as well as efficient. Breakfast good. Loved the lobby! Not cheap to stay here. but you get what you pay for.
We were in a room with a window at the side of the hotel - the room was a bit warm, and if you opened the window, it was noisy from traffic and people. A fan was provided, so we used that overnight.
Location Valet parking Helpful staff Good breakfast Nice rooms
No air-con in room and it was very hot - window only opened slightly Shower curtain was stained
Nice, relaxed bar area, friendly bar staff, good cocktails, generous complimentary snacks, fair prices. Well maintained and spacious hotel, decent full english breakfast.
Beautiful hotel, well maintained, attentive polite staff, comfortable bed
No parking space available and expensive to park in local NCP car park.
Great location, great sea view room, very clean throughout, very helpfull staff especially Simon on the door, will stay again & would recommend!!!!
CHOICE OF BREAKFAST
NO SWIMMING POOL
Upon arrival at check in, the member of staff behind the desk wasn't at all welcoming. Almost as if we weren't good enough very uninterested in helping us out at all. She didn't even direct us to our room or tell us which floor it was on. We found our room to be very small and boxy, considering the amount we paid for one night it was hugely disappointing. The head board could have done with a wipe as it had something spilt down it. The banging of doors closing at night was constant, as was the music from local bars which our room backed on to. Frosted window hiding no view.
Posistion and opulence, Welcoming
Spa not open till 9am. Breakfast choice not as good as last time
From the moment we arrived there was no 5 star service . We were not greeted at reception , staff barely looked at us. Room was not cleaned properly we found a 5p piece in the middle of the floor. Very poor all round
Great staff. Good furniture. Spotlessley clean. Good breakfast. Made for a great minibreak
Beautiful old building. Staff were brilliant, friendly and very helpful - well done. Restaurant great, would go there again.
Room expensive when your only view is a brick wall. No minibar. No robes although they were supposed to be supplied. Very limited tea and coffee.
The Room was very Small and did not look anything like The Hotel Photo
Breakfast was good & staff friendly. Location for Lanes & see front ok.
Room was dark & shabby. Needs updating & there were hairs in the bath.
The rooms were excellent and could not fault them
The main hotel had paint peeling off the walls. the ladies general power room was awful, the taps were green, the toilet seat was falling off. Both above let the hotel down. it needs some TLC
The helpful staff when we needed to change room due to noise of generator, the breakfast was great and the hotel itself is opulent with sea views and great location.
The random cage on the top floor with food inside it - Hotels pet mouse?
I booked a sea view room and proposed to my girlfriend. It was a magical weekend and am delighted with the hotel for making it extra special. The GB1 restaurant was one of the nicest meals we've ever had!
Interior decor was exceptional with various places to sit and relax with a drink. Actually had Starbucks coffee in the room! Lovely view of the pier and beach from our room.
Lack of air-conditioning in our room made sleep difficult on a warm summer night. Keeping the windows open meant listening to the summer "traffic," both vehicular and human, just three floors below.
Everything, the room was lovely and the stay was even better.
Nothing apart from the rude woman who wouldn't wait for us to exit the lift before she came in, honestly some people!!!
The room was amazing
Great location right on the sea front and 10-15 minutes away from railway station. Lovely looking hotel-great decor. Brilliant restaurant with lovely cocktails. Massive bed in the inland standard double room. Good size bathroom with nice complimentary toiletries. Very good customer service; especially the concierges who were very attentive and helpful.
Only a couple of little things; in our room there was a very creaky floorboard which rocked and shaked the wardrobe when you walked to the bathroom. TV may have been broken as therr was a black line down the middle which was a bit distracting. No outdoors space on the hotel complex.
Location excellent and great facilities
no air conditioning - no view
