On the seafront in the heart of Brighton's 'Lanes', this friendly hotel has a pool, gym and free Wi-Fi. It is well-located for nightlife, restaurants and the beach.
Score from 2726 reviews Good
Overlooking the seafront, The Thistle Brighton is just 400 metres from the Brighton Pier and the Royal Pavilion. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout, a restaurant with sea views, a pool and a spa.
Score from 1194 reviews Very good
This 4-star luxury hotel looks out over Brighton seafront and is close to the shops and city centre. The grand Victorian building has large rooms, a restaurant and a fitness centre with indoor pool.
Score from 1147 reviews Good
Situated in central Brighton and with views of the seafront, this magnificent Grade II Listed building overlooks the West Pier and offers free Wi-Fi.
Score from 1514 reviews Good
we stayed in a seaview on 7th floor and the room was very good. large with all the facilities expected, Price good as significantly discounted. All staff tried very hard to meet all requests whilst working within restriction of facilities due to function ongoing
The hotel had a large function going on so facilities bar, lounge and restaurant all impacted for guests without any warning. No valet parking left by time we arrived at hotel, Only single option on restaurant menu for vegetarians, very poor for this level of hotel expected more
Great hotel, location & surroundings. Fab place & great staff.
Overnight car parking expensive!
from start to finnish you were made to feel special
milk portions in rooms but if asked you are given fresh milk no problem
Everything, good atmosphere in the bar in the evening. Lovely breakfast.
The room was amazing and so comfortable. We love the concierge service also. The breakfasts are varied and excellent quality. It's the perfect spot, across the road from the beach and a short walk to the pier and the town.
I was lucky enough to book through booking. Com at an excellent price. In saying that, I would always stay at the grand when visiting brighton because of its character and style. Breakfast was great, as was service and cleanliness. Great hotel to stay at.
We couldn't fault it
All except the dark room
Dark room and some of the lights were not working blown bulbs etc
Friendly staff and excellent service
We liked everything about this hotel. Friendly staff very clean granted our request for quiet high floor room. Definitely will go back.
Expensive £30 overnight parking and too many staff asking to carry your baggage and looking for tips.
staff were brilliant. very friendly. bed was so comfy.
Sea front position Breakfast buffet Old fashioned charm
£30 car park charge (not clearly stated on website) Room facilities Doesn't live up to expectations
Location, staff, comfort, cleanliness and size of room.
Since we got put in the attic room the windows were like pill box slits, which would have been an issue if we were staying more than one night.... Breakfast was not very exciting or tasty and as it was a buffet not hot either..
Lovely venue that is very convenient for Brighton Centre, but disappointing service. Some staff very good (Will, concierge) but some give mediocre service
Bar closed Sat early evening so had to sit in the restaurant- not the same vibe at all and not advised at check in this would happen. Initial room tiny, radiator on full and turning down didn't cool it, window only opened 2", located near noisy kitchen ventilation. Given better rm when complained. Room service cheese board- got crackers and not sultana bread, grapes soggy- refunded when complained. Don't like paper napkins t b'fast- feels v cheap. Feels like trading on the venue and not focusing on customer service enough.
The service throughout our stay was top draw.
Freindly Welcome. Quality and very well matained room. Helpful team members.
Change from devere, most of the good de vere staff have left the hotel.
Helpful staff location very spacious room, excellent full English breakfast, lovely hotel to stay in nothing too much trouble for the staff.
Having to go home.
We stayed here for one night with our 8 month old. From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful, the concierge took our bags and showed us to reception where they checked us in and gave us out room even though it was 2 hours before check in. The room (718) was huge with great views out to sea and towards the pier. The bed was very comfy and the bath big enough for a good soak. We'd asked for a high floor and a room big enough for our travel cot and it certainly was! Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and again the staff couldn't do enough for us and our little one. My husband also had a massage in the spa which he said was lovely and definitely worth a visit if you have the time. All in all a great stay at a lovely hotel (with exceptional staff), we'll hopefully be back soon.
The staff, the facilities and the food were all excellent.
Very luxurious feel but relaxed atmosphere
Bathrooms need updating and some areas looking tired
The hotel lobby and surroundings are very grand and impressive and you can tell the hotel has a lot of history. Our room was huge and the bed really comfortable, and we had great drinks in the bar after dinner which is well decorated. Overall a really nice stay but I wouldn't say the quality of the hotel reflects it's reputation or the cost of staying at peak times.
They seem to have done a half-hearted job with renovating the hotel - obviously it is an old building but some parts were lovely and some not. There were a few things that detracted - creaky floors and a wobbly dresser, cobwebs on the ceiling, no mini-bar, the room was very cold, and the bathroom wasn't that thoroughly cleaned. There was also a rock concert going on at the Brighton Centre nextdoor and we could hear everything (luckily we weren't in the room much).
Fantastic relaxing stay with highly friendly and professional staff.
The breakfast food was a little cold
We loved our room, our balcony and view, our oh so comfortable bed and the bathroom.
A big stain on the carpet in our room.
This really is a 'Grand' Hotel. From the moment we arrived and a valet parked our car, till the moment that we checked out, the staff were friendly and very efficient. Our room was well decorated, clean and comfortable with a good selection of teas etc. Breakfast was excellent, and staff was attentive. The location of this hotel is very good with easy access to the Lanes. We would not hesitate to return.
Very friendly concierge
No air con in room
