clean, comfortable bed, good breakfast room 233, an inland room but didn't expect it to be so dark, sash windows will only open up a couple of inches and covered in some sort of Perspex so can't see out, a bit claustrophobic. Buffet breakfast laid out on a high round bar area, so high could barely reach or see what was there

Public spaces as good as expected. Staff very attentive. Location great. Breakfast good. The actual room was a little faded, the radiators didn't work and the single glazed sea facing bay meant this was chilly. However, the staff were very quick to respond and provide a heater. The balcony area was tatty looking.

Good size room. exellent staff. Good location. Nice cream tea. Thought the restaurant was more of a cafe bar than a quality restaurant also very cold and drafty. Quality of the food, whilst initially excellent, was spoiled by being served on cold slate. Breakfast buffet was placed to high for anyone of short stature although it was plentiful and good quality. Comment cards were not available in the room.

The famous building is Awsome inside. Stunning! Although the bar staff worked hard getting through the level of people waiting was too long. The staff could gad done with another pair of hands of 2.

Comfortable bed. Attentive porter on arrival. Car park full or no parking. Had to use NCP. Room (single) quite small but at least well fitted out.

Every member of staff was so helpful and courteous. Excellent service. Great bed. Food in the restaurant was very good. Two large parties were in the restaurant and the staffed were stretched and table service was very polite but was a bit erratic.

I arrived before the room was available, the staff were marvellous and valet parked my car. I had to pick up a number (large number) of items from my daughter and the porters were fantastic with their help.

The staff were all very well trained and could do no more to make our stay special. There was a queue to get in for breakfast by 10am - on a Wednesday!

Generally everything. Carrying on from the Brandy there seemed to be some disregard for safety and the drink should have been thrown away instead of returned to me. I purchased a Brandy Alexander for my wife at £9.20p and noticed the glass had a sharp crack on the top, when I returned the glass with the drink still in it they tipped the drink into another glass and returned it to me. I thought that was quite dangerous as there may have been glass in the drink

Luxurious, comfortable, clean room; great seaside view; central to all activities, food, shopping. Welcoming yet private lounge area was great alternative to our room, which did have lounge seating. We'll return, great value for money. Nothing- as advertised

The staff were on the ball. The height of the breakfast buffet counter, this was level with people mouths and also if you are small you couldn,t even reach the hot food or see what it was.

The service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. Very attentive and escorted you to the appropriate area such as where you could order snacks. The room was comfortable and the hotel had a spacious feel to it. Really good value for money. It was disappointing that the restaurant was fully booked and there was not space for residents.

Hotel nice location good food I ordered something on the menu there and they came out with something completly differant . I thought this was bad service . this happerned to someone else the same evening poor comunication in the dinning area. I was told I would have something taken off my bill for this, This did not happern. What more can I say, do I stay here again? Also the card I booked with on booking .com they would not take debit card, they wanted a credit card why if I did not have a credit card what would I do in this hotel?????

The staff were excellent, polite and helpful. The food was good - especially if you like fish - and good value. The public rooms were comfortable and clean. This was not a late booking - I booked it over 7 months ago, but you could not accommodate me for the first night of my stay and booked me into the Hilton (that was a lovely bonus!) and i came to the Grand for the remaining two nights. I appreciate that the hotel is undergoing restoration and I know single rooms are unpopular with hotels for economic reasons but this one (room 112) was probably the least appealing room I have ever stayed in. It was clean and quite comfortable but tiny and dark, with not only no outlook at all but scaffolding outside giving the appearance of bars like a prison cell. If it was a prison cell I imagine the prisoner would be demanding a tribunal to uphold his human rights to space and at least the sight of daylight without having to go right up to the window and squint through the top corner of it to see a tiny bit of the sky and decide what the weather was like!
