Location - excellent location!
The bathroom had a damaged tile and it caused a cut!! Windows broken, in the bathroom making it cold. Bathroom very poor!
The breakfast staff were very friendly.
The lack of cleanliness. The whole hotel was very dirty, carpets, furniture soft furnishings all stained. I moved the chairs out of my room because they where covered in dark and light stains.
The bar near the entrance smelled greasy. The car park is too small and badly marked out.
Location is great, staff nice and friendly and great old building
Its a old building that needs tlc, smokers standing right outside the entrance
Good hotel, great location and right near north pier, clubs and restaurants.
room was a bit noisy, I personally park in the local NCP as the cars are jam packed into the car park and it doesn't seem easy to get in and out of. Guests need to be advised that breakfast - sit where you like and help yourself.
The Cabaret Bar was good. 2 or 3 staff went out of their way to help. The sofas in the lounge were comfortable. The lift was quick, quiet and efficient. The rooms and bathrooms were clean.
The Breakfast was an awful experience - food-wise, staff-wise, and in cleandliness of cutlery and crockery. The bed was a little hard. The TV was tiny, old, and did not work well. The decor (especially the ceiling) needed re-vamping. The room was on the 3rd floor a long way from the lift - when I had requested a room on the 1st floor near the lift due to my difficulty in walking. The establishment gave the impression of being run down and in need of total refurbishment, and freshening up. I expected an up-market hotel, and was severely disappointed!
Rooms we clean and functional. Shower was amazing! Location was perfect and the only hotel right on the beach and away from the other bars and clubs so we had less noise disturbance throughout the night. Staff helpful and polite.
Hotel is a bit tired looking, but they keep it clean. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, but that could be down to personal preference.
Helpful staff and clean comfortable room. Breakfast was usual good self service style standard.
My usual gripe about INCONSIDORATE SMOKERS who will stand just outside the door puffing out their obnoxious smoke for us non-smokers to walk through. Their should be a designated area created at all establishments well away from the door ways. It's not too much to ask!
friendliness' of staff
having to leave
Staff were unhelpful, I had to ask where our rooms where located. When checking out the staff did not even bother to ask if we enjoyed our stay. The public toilets were dirty the bin in the bathroom was stained and dirty the quilt cover was to small for the old quilt there was a sticky stain on the quilt cover the hotel generally smelt of damp
Close to centre of Blackpool
Shabby decor, stained carpets room service poor, bland food.
near station great position on sea front . staff very helpful . good choice of food
nothing to dislike
entertainment,location,early bar prices,
pool table broken, people smoking in entrance, non smoking rooms next to smokers rooms
Friendly staff Welcoming Great value for money
Smaller Pointer: Breakfast hash browns
The service, the staff we're rude, they gave us the wrong room then told us ours had gone. We're retired and went for a small break and were treated very badly. Never again
Staff very helpful. Food was good. Beds were very comfy.
Could do with a bit of a clean up.
Very good location
Hotel is tired and the food wasn't great
The breakfast at the hotel was excellent
The hotel is only rated 2 star I think this is an unfair rating
The bath & shower.
The standard 5 channels on tv plus old vhs combi. Nothing to watch late at night.
Filthy, thread bare carpets and very uncomfortable
location is good to get around the area, breakfast was ok but could have been warmer
evening meal was very poor to the extent we had our money back for the evening meal after the first night. would not book evening meal in the future. the hotel needs a deep clean or a visit from the hotel inspector. britannia you need to get your act together
i did enjoy the breakfast plenty of choice and friendly staff.
the room was a bit small and the bed was as well. also i dont agree with there being two restaurants for breakfast. if you pay a bit more i guess you can use the posher one where if you dont you are in the other. you shouldnt treat people like that.
