Score from 612 reviews Very good
Comfortable. Nice atmosphere.
Saniflow toilets which malfunctioned one night. My friend had to move rooms and mine made noises at random.
The location is good and the sea view was superb. The food outlets and clubs were very close by, and the tram stopped outside the hotel.
The drunken fools outside the venue being loud and annoying, and the people allowed to smoke in the only doorway access to the hotel.
Breakfast was terrible
we enjoyed the actual location which was handy for the tram & shops etc!
we didnt like the room location as i am a wheelchair user which was stipulated when booked but was given a room that had stairs down to it & when we went to reception we were told they had no other rooms available but we ended up in one that wasnt suitable for my wheelchair room 301on the third floor so spoilt our weekend break.
Some of the staff were friendly.
We had originally booked for 4 adults in a family room to then be told that they could not do this due to not being a room available so we were moved to two twin rooms instead. One of the rooms was very dark and worn. The second room we had to be moved from due to poor cleanliness, there was urine stains on the carpet and the room smelt of faeces. They moved us to a different room which was on a different floor from the rest of our party and again was very worn. We were unable to park on the car park so had to park on a pay and display car park that was down the road from the hotel. Some of the staff were rude.
Location was good
Couldn't park so paid for parking at an NCP. Cleanliness of hotel was terrible and looks like it hasn't been maintained in years. Will not be returning
Relaxed atmosphere and friendly / helpful hotel staff
Parking nightmare due to broken barrier and also free wifi wasn't available in room
Great location, right on sea front and close to tower. Lovely old grand hotel!
Unhelpful staff. Reception staff were not helpful at all.
The location was great, the style of the hotel would look great if it was spruced up a bit.
The car park is shocking, a complete free for all, you wouldn't want to park your car there. The lady who checked us in was incredibly rude and clearly didn't want to be there, didn't tell us where our room was, after trying to find it ourselves we admitted defeat and went back to ask. The tops of the curtains in the room were covered in thick dust, walls crumbling from damp. The actual room itself was fine just very tired/ run down.
central location, friendly staff, comfy beds...
dirty toilets in the foyer, they were like that on my last visit! im a smoker but even I dont like a carpet of butts on entering the hotel, more bins maybe
disappointed with old fashioned TV. Plus noisy mattress on bed.
The staff were friendly.entertainment was good.food good a great central location.
TV in the rooms only 4 or 5 channels with freeview now out.still got the old boxed television.
Had to wait till 3 o,clock to check-in, then had to wait about 20mins to check-in.
The picture on the website was different to the room beer can under the bed windows was not clean
not much entertainment
Booked a double room, given a single room with 3/4 bed and single headboard! For two adults. The room looked into what can only be described as a run down shabby exterior. Felt like a prison cell! The rooms was not advertised in any pictures so beware you could end up not getting what you think at this hotel! Poor hotel.
The breakfast was nice and the staff at breakfast were very nice
On the booking i requested a upper room but was given a room in the basement the view was of the underside of the car the room had hardly any natural light so i asked to b moved the lady on the desk was not very nice then said they only had one room left and it was a smoking room which i thought was against the law .the smell was unbearable it caused me to have a asthma attack and made my husband chest bad ,i complained again to a gentleman on the desk and was given yet another room which was better but you had the view of bird poo splated all over the windows, peeling paint and mold in the shower,a fist hole in the bathroom door and the kettle only worked if you held it down to boil i will not stay here again
Really big room, lovely sea front view, no complaints
The location was great for night life.
Breakfast, someof the toast was only cooked on one side and cold
Its by all pubs and clubs. Room was warm
They had double booked rooms, hotel staff are moody and have a bad attitude. The room smelt and wasn't the cleanest. Parking is horrendous!
Location was the best thing. ample car parking
the hotel looked in dire need of a refurb. TV in the bedroom was tiny and the remote did not work.
the location was good and the deco furniture in the room was nice
Room was not worth the money paid £70 for a night which was meant to be £110 Bath tap didn't work. Shower slot was broken. Bed was uncomfortable and kept squeaking. Constant humming noise from generator all night. Wasn't worth 70 never mind 110 pound.
Good position for where we wanted to be.
When I asked if I could up grade to a sea view a room was suddenly found for an extra £60. But I was told they had no other rooms available. I think wifi should be allowed all over the building.
