During my stay at the Grand Metropole I found the hotel very nice and very comfortable and very clean. One downfall to the hotel was the reception staff were a bit offhand and were not friendly in any way, shape or form which I thought was a bit off putting to guests. |

I mentioned on check out that I was very impressed with the polite, helpful and pro-active nature of the friendly restaurant staff. The tea and coffee outside the restaurant. All put out in one go. Checking pots to see which had contents. Renew at intervals with fress and therefore hot.Smaller no out and a place to put those that have been emptied. I know some people will not co-operate with this but. |

Excellent food, good location. Rooms were very basic, windows in an awful state, signage was very bad, more lifts needed at both ends of hotel. Single rooms like utility cupboard. |

Position of Hotel We did not like having to go and get our tea/coffee from another room for breakfast and it was undrinkable (cold and stewed). They need to do something about this I mentioned it to the lady at reception and she just shrugged her shoulders. |

The hotel is a very interesting and historic building in a fantastic location on the prom at Blackpool. Check-out time was far too early. The signs outside the lifts to room numbers were quite misleading. The room could have been in a better state of repair - the window hinge was broken and a handle was missing on the wardrobe. There was no toilet roll holder. I`d recommend the hotel but with some reservations. I haven`t seen any other reviews so can`t comment. |

Good location, nicest position facing the pier. Some of the evening entertainment was enjoyable Dining room was a bit like a canteen or school dinners atmosphere and we were left standing in the doorway and not shown to a table - it was every man for himself sort of feeling to it. |

The best thing about this hotel was its central location. Otherwise, there was nothing I would recommend. Poor customer service. Had to wait nearly 7 hours to get a towel for the room (and then they only brought 1 bath towel for 2 people!) |

Cheap and nasty! Though not so cheap!! The hotel had been refurbished by handicapped cavemen cutting corners, I have never seen such poor workmanship. |

The hotel was easy to find, it is convenient for all the tourist facilities in Blackpool. I paid £10 for an upgrade to a 'superior' room, with a guaranteed sea view. The sea was visible with my face pressed against the window, and straining my eyes to the right. Some members of staff working in the breakfast restaurant were surly, almost to the point of being eligible for the grumpy old man series on T.V. |

The entertainment and staff in the concert room were excellent. The road side room was very noisy during the night from the night club opposite and the passing trams. |

Old hotel, with helpful staff, all the amenities you need. Didn't like the location of our room, and the ensuite was extremely small. |

It was very convenient for exploring the town but that is, regretably, all I can say on the positive side. When I booked, I did so through a web agency and I had not realised the hotel is so large.I would normally choose a smaller less crowded accommodation. |

the helpfulness of the staff. the location of the hotel. plus the beer was only £1.50 a pint!! no, everything was fine. the price had gone up £10 per person from last year so i hope this is not the case for next year as it will be bordering on expensive |
