the breakfasts weren't too bad but spoiled by the que into the restruant and the self service
we changed rooms three times in two days because of terrific noise till passed midnight, second room strong chemical smell due to fumigation against the norovirus the last room we had was previously unused with no heating on and the beds were very chilled. the staff were dismissive and rude and I have complained to Britannia hotels
We upgraded our room to a sea view for little extra and it was lovely.
The help yourself to tea and coffee in the morning was very poor, the jugs were always empty and when you did get your beverage it was cold. Surely they can serve beverages to each table like every hotel we've been in.
Nice part of the country.
Paid extra for a "room with a view" and got a view of a wall about a metre from the window. The bed was crammed into the room so you could only get out of it on one side. Breakfast was appalling.
Great value for money
Asked for a Ground Floor room, was given 4th floor. dining room floor at breakfast has not been cleaned.
The staff was very approchable
The bed wasn't supportive!
room with a sea view
Hotel services, waiting time at Reception, hotel Rm, bar drinks/prices, given family rm not double as booked with a tin bath with cigarette stains on as I booked with shower, hotel under staffed, room was cold, no organisation at breakfast, no parking facilities
Subterranean, room poor decor downstairs limited, range,at breakfast
room!!!!- dungeon!!!!, depressingly drab and in need of a clean!!! bed!!!!-slightly bigger than a single!!!! No phone signal in dungeon room!!! which is unacceptable due to the need to be in contact with home at all times!!! breakfast queue a mile long!, tables not cleared quickly, so ate with dirty pots surrounding us!, very cold draft coming from the ancient windows, no fried eggs on offer? why?
Staff were firendly and helpfull
I left an electric toothbrush in the room on a previous stay. I e-mailed the manager but didn't get a response. Dissapointing.
the bed. the reception staff. the dried up food same menu for two nights.
company met some lovely people weather was wet and windy so took advantage of the happy hour
Good weather and food
No car parking
tired old hotel
Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff.especially dale and the younger night odd job man in the rubber gloves lol
No plug in the bath and we had to ask a few times for another one.
struggling to think of some likes the only plus point was probably the location of hotel and some of its views.
Firstly parking was a nightmare, 2nd staff on reception were slow at booking people in, 3rd the room I paid slightly more for had no view at all and a sloping roof that I waked into twice, 4th the mattress was poor and could feel every spring, 5th having to que for a table at breakfast and then we actualy got told to find our own and there was none so we cleared out a dirty table our self and then the breakfast was poor quality. The views from some windows out to see was great but the cleanliness off the windows let them down.
Room layout jet bath was fantastic would definitely stay again soon much needed break for all the family thanks
Room already taken Cleanliness not good Noise from other rooms Smoke alarm went off - no one around to find out what was happening Bathroom facilities not good Needs a lot of updating Cheap food options
location and good facilities ,have been in for coffees before but never stayed in the grand but we will certainly go back again
Comfortable bed, tea making, hair dryer, in room; price. Beautiful (at one time) Victorian building.
Appeared to be very shabby with dirty marks on carpets and flaking wood panels. No shower in bathroom, very basic.
got parking ticket poor communication for parking and the room was dull no natural light
Great Victorian building, in need of TLC, but in beachside location with friendly, helpful staff.
Great location, right in the centre of town. We had a spaceous family bedroom with a fantastic sea view and a spa bath (although it didn't actually work).
The place is generally run down, in need of work and a really good clean. The breakfast, although there was plenty of choice (including chips??) it was quite obviously low-cost produce and there are not enough staff to cope with the quantity of guests.
I liked the hydro bath that is all
