we liked everything, the room, service, food, the hotel and the setting.
It is simply an excellent hotel, facilities wise, you feel at home, it s very relaxing. Our 3rd visit and it doesn't fail to impress every tme, we will be back for sure
Wifi is a bit poor, fire alarm (false) did disturb our sleep, but can';t be helped
The staff were very helpful, breakfast was fine.
The room was at the back and was like a cave very dark with trees right outside the window so no view , there was a sofa In the room with stains on the cushions . Too many drapes it was very hot and the bed had a winter duvet and heavy bedspread on it. The silk flowers everywhere including our room were dusty and old and not necessary.
Standards were high throughout and the breakfast service that we experienced was excellent.
Nothing we didn't like
This was an excellent hotel in every way. Service was first class. We had the best meal that we have had anywhere. Spotlessly clean. Superb room.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Grange Hotel, we felt comfortable and relaxed and truly spoiled. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and provided excellent service throughout their tasks, they were friendly and eager to offer suggestions of places to visit. Our room overlooked the Hotel front with lovely views of the bay and town beyond. The bed was comfortable with cotton sheets, a heavy counterpaine sandwiching a wooly blanket; it smelled freshly cleaned and I'm sure it would have been laundered after each visitor, if not it would be a concern. Luckily, the weather was glorious during our stay 20-22 degrees, we would have hoped for a little wind at night as without air-conditioning it was quite warm, though we did manage to sleep. The room itself was spacious, it seemed to have been thoroughly cleaned each day; the floor of the wardrobe and the shelves were spotlessly clean, so much so we felt comfortable to unpack our clothes for a weeks stay. All areas of the Hotel were lusciously decorated, inkeeping with the age of the building and the areas we used were spotlessly clean, no dust in the corners, no cobwebs that we noticed. The breakfast offered a good choice of cereals and freshly prepared mixed fresh fruit, home-made yoghurt etc. Mostly, the cooked portions were self-service, on occasion we had table service, depending on the guest volume. The food was beautifully fresh and well prepared, not fatty. We ate in the Restaurant on two occasions and at the Bar twice, at each meal the service was excellent, the food was delicious and we felt the prices were very reasonable when you consider the quality; comparable to any good restaurant. They also had a very good wine list. There were weddings on Fridays and Saturdays. The preparations for which began early or the night before, all very organised, though caused confusion at breakfast as locations changed and we had to keep asking where to go.
The inconsideration of some of the weekends wedding guests. The smoke and smell of those that smoked at the front door came in to the bar area where we sat to relax, read papers and use the internet, also it drifted in to our upstairs room. Always a concern from someone with Asthma.
The staff The breakfasts The surroundings The comfortable room The peace The over-the-top decor
The over-the-top decor at first, but it grew on me The overcooked vegetables
The hotel and facilities were first class and the staff friendly and helpful.
Parking could do with some segregation so hotel residents can park near the entrenched on days when wedding receptions are being held
Staff were excellent and actual building and garden areas beautiful.
All seemed like a bit of a time-warp, very quiet and quite dated, albeit clean.
Location is lovely , straight across from the station on the edge of town, hotel grounds are beautiful
We had room 125 which was very dark , it was difficult to read at night, also could not get wifi in room only in bar.
As always, we received the best of service from the delightful staff. The room was first class and the breakfasts were excellent. We can't wait to go back.
The Grange is a super location to relax. For me the chef at the Grange is an amazing gift to food. The menu is superb and never fails to impress.
Arriving knowing i would have to leave and leaving the Grange for home
The staff and the pleasant surroundings. It's a little bit of luxury at a reasonable price. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
there was nothing to dislike.
free upgrade breakfast staff location bar food cleanness fresh decor
Generally excellent Booked online 30 minutes before arrival. Reception had the information to hand when arrived Free parking.Room was ready. excellent facilities on a typical old fashioned grand scale. Massive comfy bed. Spotless room. Decent choice of meals in evening. Quality of food top notch and would recommend to anyone wanting a meal whilst in the area ( open to non-residents). standard fare breakfast served efficiently. no complaints and well recommended especially for reduced rate of £125 instead of £185
I wouldnt have wanted to pay £185 a night but then we are from Yorkshire and get value for money!
The service was great they could not do enough for you the food was good too.
The dyed green water in the pond at the frount
Distance from town and rail station.
The staff were very helpful and made us feel very welcome . The decor was very tasteful and well kept .everywhere was very clean and tidy . The gardens and outside space were also really well maintained . Food was good . We had a very enjoyable stay and would consider going back again
The lift was abit small and made me feel a little uncomfortable , and the bar didn't have a very good beer selection .
A beautiful hotel ,scenic location .staff polite and help full .great food even though we only had bar meal rather than the restaraunt ,great self service breakfast, plentiful .
The bathroom little dated ,loose bath tap which you had to hold tight so you could turn on ,shower cold but maybe I never left on long enough ,ended up using bath .bin in bathroom not emptied from last guest which contained smelly used sanitary ware .
Excellent views , the staff couldn't do enough for you . Food is great . One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and I stay in loads with business .
Gym was a little small .
Lovely Hotel in a beautiful location.
Never told there was a wedding reception on the day we arrived and breakfast was served in a room without windows more like a glorified canteen. Previous visits breakfast was served in a beautiful room. Feel we should have been advised of this when booking.
Everything was excellent
Peace and quiet; well-appointed spacious rooms - high standard of furnishings and decoration throughout the building; friendly and efficient staff; fine views over the Kent Estuary; good food, in both restaurant and bars; plenty of sitting areas, including spectacular terrace; pleasant walk to town-centre; easy access to station (3 minutes); plenty of parking space if you need it.
The location, the décor, the lovely bar man Christian!
The staff were very friendly and helpful, restaurant staff were excellent and extremely professional. The food was superb, a good choice of dishes, beautifully presented, each of the five courses well spaced out, Michelin standard!
Better lighting in the bathroom.
