The hotel was centrally located and the facilities excellent. The staff were helpful. I loved the pool. I thought breakfast was a bit expensive and chose the out of hotel option, with several nice options located at Scillian Lane. There was a blanket box at the base at the base of the bed, watch out it is in kicking zone.

The location of the hotel is ideal and the room facilities makes it a perfect place when it's a balance between business and pleasure and since I was travelling with the family the large "family room" is perfect. What I didn't like to be honest is that surprisingly there was no welcome fruit basket (I have always seen this in previous trips) in the room and neither was there even a complimentary bottle of water. May sound like a silly point but I think this is the basics which must always be there. It's been there before on my earlier visits so wonder why it was missing this time?

Location, good room, excellent gym/pool. Breakfast too expensive. Gym not available to under 16'S. We were traveling with 13 and nearly 16 year olds, both in training for various sports but unable to use gym. Some flexibility eg clearance/assessment by trainer would be novel.

We were looking for a family room in a central hotel which had a swimming pool, and there weren't too many which fitted those criteria at a price which wasn't totally ridiculous. Family room of very good size compared to others we'd had in London hotels. The guys on the concierge desk, although rushed off their feet at times and having to deal with some un-necessarily stroppy customers as a result, had a really nice way about them and were great with the kids. Like most things in London, over-priced by non-London standards. Room was fine, but £210 was a lot to pay for what we got. Ditto breakfast at £23 a head, although in fairness kids ate for free. Restrictions on when kids could use swimming pool not highlighted when booking, turned out to be a bit of a pain - we could only get them in there at 10am on a weekday, which then led to reception phoning up to the room just after 11 to find out when we would be checking out. 'Would have done so an hour ago if you had let us into the pool an hour earlier...'.

It's in a good location, easy walk to Covent Garden and main train stations. Staff were quite unfriendly and just seem to be going through the motions. We were left to stand waiting for over 15 minutes just to pick up bags. We were without running water in our room for the first 24 hours of a 2 night stay and noone seemed too bothered about it. Room and general decor was very outdated and tired for a 5 start hotel. Bathroom in our room was tiny...had to squeeze into a corner to be able to open or shut the door!

There was a problem with the water, and at certain times, there was no hot water in the shower knowing London at that time is very cold.

The room was excellent value and very spacious. Staff were very helpful and courteous. They brought some birthday cake up to the room for my Mum without me asking them to! Location was brilliant. The only issue was when paying the bill, we were informed that we had to pay extra because we'd used the sofa bed. Had we been informed of this, we would have shared the two doubles instead. But that's only a minor complaint and the manager cancelled the charge when we discussed this with her. So all was resolved and we were very happy with our stay.

The hotel was in a great location. However I would not agree that it is a modern 5* hotel as it was a bit dated and the rooms were very small. However the room was clean and tidy and the bed was extremely comfortable!

Upon arrival we received the wrong room. The Concierge was very responsive and worked to have our room changed. We were unable to make the room change until day 2, however, the staff did modify our room to accommodate us on our first night. The staff moved us while we were out touring on Day 2. It was very effortless for us. The room was a nice size for a city hotel. Location was excellent. Tube stop was one block away.

The location was very good. The room we received was excellent. We had booked a twin room and for the first time in many bookings got a twin room without having to re-visit reception. The room was spacious which helped with the many shopping bags. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We chose to purchase breakfast on our first morning - at a cost of £23 we did not think it was value for money. All of the food was help yourself - and the hot counter has run out of bacon and we had to wait 15 minutes for more. The choice was not so good. On check-out our bill was not correct and had an 5 additional entries for mini-bar use - this seems a bit more than a mistake!!!

The hotel was lovely in the main reception areas. The room we stayed in was a bit rough around the edges. The ceiling light still had masking tape around it from last time the ceiling was painted. The shower screen was tatty. A bit shabby for a 5 star hotel.

The executive room we had had 2 double beds although the last time we stayed there we also had a magnificent bathroom and dressing area. This time the bathroom was very 'standard' in size. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are very nice. The bar area is very comfortable. We didn't eat there - £23 for breakfast! Concierge staff are very helpful and willing. Location isn't brilliant - we would have been better nearer to the theatres and Covent Garden (about 20 mins. Walk) There are a few restaurants on Southampton Row (North of the hotel). It was, however, quick for the hotel concierge to hail a cab for us. Our room wasn't ready for us until 3pm and we arrived at 1pm. They stored our luggage for us though.
