my only reason for staying was to visit the national railway mseum which fully lived up to my expectations. hotel was close to all main attractions. Grange Lodge must be one of the best value B&B's in the country it was faultless. |

We had a lovely welcome and made to feel at home. We could come and go as we pleased during our stay. The breakfast was lovely and everywhere was clean. We were also very pleased with the car parking facilities. The en-suite in our room was very small but functional and we could here someone snoring in the next room. |

The breakfast was delicious and the husband and wife running the hotel couldn't have been sweeter. My room, although extremely comfortable, was extremely small. But it was fine for a few days. |

The trustworthiness of the owners who provided details of 'self-check in' as we were all arriving late. The fact the we were able to leave our car parked outside with the car parking permit even though we checked out that morning. The choice at breakfast and the friendliness of the owners. |

Nice room, with modern decoration and good quality facilities. Good breakfast too. I couldn't have breakfast on one of the days as I had an early start and breakfast is served from 8am. |

Very friendly & welcoming, provided us with a map & told us where to go to eat in the evenings. Room very clean & decorated modern Breakfast times could have been a bit longer, shelf above the sink made it a bit awkward to get to, rooms small but cosy. |

Very comfortable and well looked after by the owners. Nothing was too much trouble from them and one could come and go as one pleased. Perhaps the single en-suite was a wee bit on the small side from what I'm usually used to. However, it was extremely comfortable, quiet and air-conditioned! |

Nothing. I believe that between the time we booked this b & b on booking.com and the time we arrived, the b & b came under new ownership. There were no phones in any of the rooms. There were no staff to greet us when we arrived. There was an envelope at the front door with our name on it and the keys to our room in it with a letter saying welcome. When I 'buzzed' the door at the private entrance, the owner opened the door a crack to talk to us. I booked this b & b on this web site before we left Canada. However when we went to pay for the room, the owner told me I was very lucky that I got such a good rate, because the room rate is usually double the price. I didn't understand this comment as we were paying the price that we booked it at. They had absolutely no services other than the breakfast included. |

Comfortable and clean. Snacks in the bedroom as well as a TV and wireless. Good meals. There were no shampoo or soup in the bathroom. Other than that everything was perfect |

The hotel staff we really friendly and accomadating to my six year old child. Very Very clean and breakfast was fantastic.Really close to town centre which made it really easy to walk saving on taxi fares. Dvd player please, with having a young child in toor we where back to hotel early at night would have been good to be able to stick on a dvd to keep her occupited. Also maybe a bar/lounge area to sit in just to chill and meet other residents. |

Staff couldnt do enough to help. They moved my room from the top lower down so it was easier as Im on crutches. I gave them paperwork describing disabilities. They were very proffessional. They told all the staff but didnt discuss it in ear shot of guests. They made me feel very welcome. The bloomin security door!!! Its a good idea to use a security code to get into the building but when you have sight problems the numbers are too small. It was difficult to open 2 handles at a time and people who had no problem with sight found themselves knelt down trying to get the door open. |

The room was fine, it was clean and quiet, so a good place to stay the night. On one of the days I stayed there, breakfast was slow. My main complaint was that when I was checking out, I was charged an extra £30 because I had booked the room through ebookers. I was in a hurry and so did not have the time to argue about that. But I will now call the place to complain. Overall, the checking-out procedure was pretty unprofessional. |

staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast choice was super. My single room really was very small indeed, which was fine for a quick visit, but it would have been claustrophobic for any more than one night |

Hayley, Paul and the boys welcome you to their guest house, a special place to stay in York; a distinctive Edwardian residence, where a more friendly accommodation is hard to find. |
This family-run guest house is conveniently situated just 5 minutes walk from York city centre; overlooking Haxby Park it offers comfortable rooms that were fully refurbished in January 2007. |
The Newington Hotel sits proud aside the Royal Approach, the historical entrance route to medieval York. We are located close to the city centre and all the attractions that York has to offer. |
Ramada Encore York offers the perfect combination of great accommodation, value for money & the ideal location. |
