The hotel staff were all very helpful and attentive. The bedrooms were clean and well kept. There was a good selection of hot and cold items offtered for breakfast and it was nice to have a varied selection of preserves and lovely fresh bread as well as toast. The evening meals were well cooked and attractively presented. There was good attention to detail. The location of the hotel was good, only a short walk into the centre of town.

We have stayed at the Grange a number of times because we find it friendly, comfortable, accommodating and well placed for visiting relatives and friends.. Too short a stay.

Breakfast very good for vegetarians. Very convenient for town centre. Easy to find. Good car parking. Wonderful garden. Very uncomfortable bed. Douvets would be better than sheets and blankets.Very noisy dustmen at 5am on our first night.

I have travelled all over the world and this hotel really did live up to the reviews it has received.

We were made to feel welcome on arrival, even though we checked in around 8.30 pm. Nothing was too much trouble, even offering to help with the bags. Very comfortable room and spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast and 1st class staff.

As a privately run hotel The Grange did not suffer from the impersonality of the corporate run establishments: The welcome was friendly and genuine; nothing seemed to be too much trouble and was not. All requests were dealt with promptly and efficiently - I had no problems but gained the impression those would have been dealt with in a similar manner. Food whether in the restaurant or bar was excellent. Although in a conservation area, the hotel is adjacent to a busy B-road which is in regular use early and late which was noticeable to me as a light sleeper: So probably more my problem than their fault.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very good, the food really excellent and the situation just right being a few minutes walk from Newark centre. The overall value was excellent and we would certainly stay there again.

Dinning room was beautiful and breakfast was very good and a lovely mature lady who alway had a smile served us I would recommend this hotel to anyone Near to town good train links to Nottingham and else where we were actually traveling to Luton via London

good location, decor and furnishings in tune with style and age of building in a good way, lovely outdoor area too sit and enjoy a relaxing tipple in, excellant range of choices at breakfast. room 19 is very small but adequate.
