Really lovely house, great garden, which we were free to enjoy. Our bedroom was excellent with huge en suite bathroom and truly comfortable bed. To say our hosts were welcoming does scant justice: from first to last they made us feel we had chosen the right place to stay. Friendship is extended, and so those who stay are friendly towards each other. Very relaxing in the rose garden evening sun An excellent breakfast in the morning warmth was an apt way to end our stay.

Newark can easily be covered in a weekend.
Newark can easily be covered in a weekend. The National Civil War centre is worth a quick visit as part of the town Civil War Trail. A good range of pubs, bars and eateries and quite a few independent shops and boutiques. Elements of the town are sadly in decline but, with the river, it's still picturesque enough to explore and wander.

It was just a break of journey for us, but there are many dining options a short drive away. We were also told as we left that if we fancied a take away of some sort, we could arrange delivery and Shaan and Sef would set up a table for us to eat it there in comfort. We may well try that next time we stop.

when we arrived we were not very impressed , but after parking and having a nice breakfast we found the town square , then every thing opened up . It was a nice surprise to see what was the market place surrounded by shops . we also had a lovely evening meal in the Ram pub , the food was very good and the service could not have been better. We found that Newark had a lot of history and shall be going back to see more . Would recomend.

Wonderful town to explore.
Wonderful town to explore. Great places to eat and drink and historic places to visit. Plenty of places to stay over and highly recommend the Newark guest house which although just outside of Newark it is only a ten minute taxi drive away. It is a beautiful place to stay.

Beautiful Apartment in a private stunning setting. The apartment was spotlessly clean, large, had character, very well equiped for all your needs travelling with thoughtful touches. Bed, linen & fluffy White soft towels were better than most expensive hotels. The hosts communication was clear, accomadating & easy instructions to access the apartment. I had a wonderful stay & wouldn't hesitate highly recommending it.
Gail was the one who received me. She listened and helped me out with everything. She went to the extent of finding and booking cabs for me for every day i stayed successfully. Also, when i had to extend my stay she made sure to sort it out for me even though it was a fully booked hotel the next day. i cant thank enough all the staff for their amazing welcoming. the food was very good.
Very close to town centre & close to Newark showground where we were attending the car show.
Good having all the kitchen facilities rather than just a room.
Provided basic cleaning materials (dish liquid, etc) & shower gel/shampoo
Residents parking pass provided for roadside parking or small car park round the back.
Lime House is in the perfect place to get to the train and bus stations and into town. Andy, the host, couldn't be more friendly and helpful, and his tips for places to see were great. The extra space and privacy of having a house rather than a hotel room was great for the day I had to work from there, too.
Mike & Shelia were lovely and couldn’t do anymore for you. room was clean and had all the little extras that a 5 star hotel would offer and bed was very comfortable. breakfast was very nice and was cooked and served by Mike. we would recommend to anyone and I am very fussy
Black mould in a new shower room, clearly not cleaned properly, towel warmer not connected bare wire, dirty bed side table tops, no towels, noisy motorway noise and loud main line train line. Compared to other budget hotels it didn’t fair well
Single room. Tasty hot meal. Attentive, pleasant and helpful staff
The hotel doesn't look much from the outside and the decor is a bit dated. However it was comfortable with a good choice of food. Great for a stopover while travelling.
Great location, easy parking, fabulous homemade pies and delicious breakfast. Room was beautiful and cosy, lots of tea n coffee. Really warm, friendly atmosphere. I can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

Stunning cottage in a very peaceful location. Great location for Newark showground. Perfect size of solo travellers or couples. Facilities were perfect. Enclosed garden perfect for the dog!
The hotel was in a good location very near the centre of Newark. There was plenty of parking on site. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom was clean and modern.
Breakfast was very nice and location was perfect as I was attending an event at the Newark Showground, so only just down the road. Nice, quiet surroundings too.
