My wife and I were visiting family in Melton Mowbray and the Grange was perfectly located for our needs. On arrival, staff were friendly and very personable. We were escorted to our room and provided with a general outline of the house keeping, local amenities and attractions. The room was quirky and looked out to a startling view of the hotel gardens and surrounding country side. We both enjoyed the novelty of eating breakfast in our room, and at whatever time suited. The place had a very “home from home” feel about whilst also possessing a resonance of stateliness. Would we stay there again..? ..Certainly. We would also recommend it to friends and family as a place where you relax and take time out whether or not you are on a family visit or week-end break from the city.

Clean and tidy providing a warm welcome I prefer to have a communual breakfast facility providing cooked breakfasts. As a contractor I did not want to prepare my own breakfast in my room and eat it alone. As I had an employee with me, breakfast is a time to review the work to be done. There is no local pub where one can spend the evening, forcing us to drive into Melton Mowbray for evening meals and drinks.

We were greeted with a warm welcome! The room was ready for us upon arrival, very clean and cosy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We asked if we had internet access and were given the facility without any extra cost. Having the kitchen area with a fridge and microwave in the room was great! Our rooms were made up nicely everyday, and restocked in the kitchen area with fresh breakfast supplies. The location to Melton Mowbray was excellent! The staff really cared that we had a comfortable stay, and did a great job to make sure that happened. We had a great 5 day stay and would recommend and stay at The Grange again without any hesitation!! The Grange was a great place to stay, however my only comments about The Grange are that perhaps some updates could be made. I found the bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress needs to be replaced, and perhaps an update to the kitchen area supplies ie: new cuttlery and china etc.would make the kitchen more pleasing. One important thing to note is that Booking.com posted the hotel with "breakfast included" and we were expecting a served cooked breakfast included. I would have to describe the breakfast as self-serve, more "Continental" (but a reasonable number of good items to choose from: coffee, tea, milk, toast, yogurt, cereal etc were available).

We found the place very charming, and the lovely housekeeper moved us into the balcony room at no extra expense when I requested it. Watching the stars at night and having breakfast outside overlooking stunning views made our stay very special. Melton was a 20 minute walk away, so easy to find somewhere to eat. The room was spotless with fresh bedlinen, and very light and airy. We liked having breakfast in the room, and the fridge was great for chilling a bottle of wine! This is not a contemporary sanitised hotel, it's a country house which is well lived in and comfortable, so there are parts which need updating, but for us, this adds to the house's charm, and for the price paid, we found it excellent value. Will definitely return!

Relaxed atmosphere. Lovely garden with views. Easy parking. We also liked that there was a small kitchen area in our room, to cook our own meals. The sign outside could be a little more prominent.

Bed very comfortable. Nice views. Generally shabby and in need of a good lick of paint - it would make it so much nicer. Strong musty/mouldy smell.

The environment is good and scenery is beautiful. It is quite british style and good place for weekend holiday. They did not provide hot and fresh breakfast and the dinning area is quite tight, which means means you could not sit very comfortable.

It was clean and well located for our purposes I have a few issues - 1, We were never asked who we were nor had our details confirmed. 2, The photo on the web site is the back of the hotel & does not match the view from the road. 3, There was no sign up showing we had found the correct B&B location. 4, The toilet seat was too small for the bowl and so slipped slightly to the side off its little plastic feet. (most disconcerting). 5, The continental breakfast was in our room the night before in a fridge as opposed to being served fresh in the morning (we found this very odd).

The accomodation was as it was described. The cost reflects how it is. Cheap, convenient and ok for a weekend break for the Vitruvian Triathlon. The staff were friendly, we had breakfast in the room and everything was ok. The TV didn't have any reception but that was the only complaint.
