My wife and I were visiting family in Melton Mowbray and the Grange was perfectly located for our needs. On arrival, staff were friendly and very personable. We were escorted to our room and provided with a general outline of the house keeping, local amenities and attractions. The room was quirky and looked out to a startling view of the hotel gardens and surrounding country side. We both enjoyed the novelty of eating breakfast in our room, and at whatever time suited. The place had a very “home from home” feel about whilst also possessing a resonance of stateliness. Would we stay there again..? ..Certainly. We would also recommend it to friends and family as a place where you relax and take time out whether or not you are on a family visit or week-end break from the city.

There was an immediately friendly welcome and the place was everything we could have wished for at a superb price too. Great for the lovely surrounding countryside and nearby Melton Mowbray etc. Highly recommended, just wish we could have stayed a bit longer but our schedule was a bit rushed, see you another time for sure. The only minus, and it was a tiny one, was that the iron in our room did not work, but as we had to rush out due to having to pick up a friend whom had had a car crash, I'm sure Jude would have swapped it for a good one had we asked. This is not a complaint, just an observation which in no way would affect us re-booking.

I liked the general relaxed atmosphere. Also the facility to prepare continental/ cooked breakfast in comfortable room. Also the pink room has a balcony, which is worth mentioning, as the view is stunning. A little hard to find......Also it`s a bit off the beaten track so you need to drive to shops rest. Pubs. Otherwise perfect.

My mother and I stayed here while attending a friend's wedding--I booked us here knowing she would probably like to get out of the city after a few days in London. And let me tell you, if you are looking for an authentic English countryside experience, this is definitely as good as it gets--a real country house, decorated with antiques and fine china, surrounded by elegant gardens and a sleepy little village with horses across the road and more dogs than people. Tea and croissants are left for your breakfast in the little kitchenette, so there's no need to get dressed and come down for breakfast. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly--one morning the owner, in his bathrobe, noticed us in the doorway awaiting a taxi and said "English tradition, seeing the owner in his dressing gown". Definitely a great place for romantics and Austen fans. The only thing I'd possibly see as a negative is that you really are out in the countryside, meaning that there's no wireless Internet here and no restaurants very nearby; one has to call in for a taxi to reach the center of Melton Mowbray.

The lady that ran the hotel could not do enough for us, I would definitely stay there again if I was in that area. The rooms were very comfortable, and having the little kitchenette was a bonus.

Clean and tidy providing a warm welcome I prefer to have a communual breakfast facility providing cooked breakfasts. As a contractor I did not want to prepare my own breakfast in my room and eat it alone. As I had an employee with me, breakfast is a time to review the work to be done. There is no local pub where one can spend the evening, forcing us to drive into Melton Mowbray for evening meals and drinks.

We were greeted with a warm welcome! The room was ready for us upon arrival, very clean and cosy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We asked if we had internet access and were given the facility without any extra cost. Having the kitchen area with a fridge and microwave in the room was great! Our rooms were made up nicely everyday, and restocked in the kitchen area with fresh breakfast supplies. The location to Melton Mowbray was excellent! The staff really cared that we had a comfortable stay, and did a great job to make sure that happened. We had a great 5 day stay and would recommend and stay at The Grange again without any hesitation!! The Grange was a great place to stay, however my only comments about The Grange are that perhaps some updates could be made. I found the bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress needs to be replaced, and perhaps an update to the kitchen area supplies ie: new cuttlery and china etc.would make the kitchen more pleasing. One important thing to note is that Booking.com posted the hotel with "breakfast included" and we were expecting a served cooked breakfast included. I would have to describe the breakfast as self-serve, more "Continental" (but a reasonable number of good items to choose from: coffee, tea, milk, toast, yogurt, cereal etc were available).

We found the place very charming, and the lovely housekeeper moved us into the balcony room at no extra expense when I requested it. Watching the stars at night and having breakfast outside overlooking stunning views made our stay very special. Melton was a 20 minute walk away, so easy to find somewhere to eat. The room was spotless with fresh bedlinen, and very light and airy. We liked having breakfast in the room, and the fridge was great for chilling a bottle of wine! This is not a contemporary sanitised hotel, it's a country house which is well lived in and comfortable, so there are parts which need updating, but for us, this adds to the house's charm, and for the price paid, we found it excellent value. Will definitely return!

Relaxed atmosphere. Lovely garden with views. Easy parking. We also liked that there was a small kitchen area in our room, to cook our own meals. The sign outside could be a little more prominent.

The environment is good and scenery is beautiful. It is quite british style and good place for weekend holiday. They did not provide hot and fresh breakfast and the dinning area is quite tight, which means means you could not sit very comfortable.

The accomodation was as it was described. The cost reflects how it is. Cheap, convenient and ok for a weekend break for the Vitruvian Triathlon. The staff were friendly, we had breakfast in the room and everything was ok. The TV didn't have any reception but that was the only complaint.
