I only stayed one night so cannot comment! As I had read on other review sites, the shower in the hotel was terrible, this isn't a complaint just something I didn't like about the hotel, also the rooms were very 'tired'

The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was horrible and the public areas ie bar /restaurant were shabby and uninviting .

We didn,t get a deluxe room as booked with you. We were given a room downstairs near dining room. A very large family room with bunk beds . There were no bedside lights no comfy chairs it was also cold and felt damp. We complained to the staff but were not offered another room. They just took bunk beds out and put a sofa in the room and tv on a separate table. Breakfast was between 8&9am this was not long enough as staff were rushing around and didn,t have time to clear tables if every guest went for breakfast at 8am there were not enough tables to seat everyone.

Receptionist and barman were friendly Hotel was adequate for the money, scruffy, clean-ish, you get what you pay for. However, you also get the fellow guests you pay for, and we were awoken at 1.30 A.M. by a violent argument in the room above our very alarmed teenaged son's room. When called, the landlady did intervene and the police arrived, but left soon afterwards. Astonishingly, the Jeremy Kyle inmates were not asked to leave immediately, but were left to resume their argument, whilst the landlady returned to her accommodation in the basement. Screaming, shouting, objects being thrown (including out of the window),door slamming etc continued until 6 A.M., when one of them stomped off. Leaving us with traumatised sons and no sleep. Would have welcomed the opportunity to discuss this with the landlady the next morning, especially wanted to know why she did not evict these people, but the only staff around in the morning were the breakfast staff

Unbelievable for the money with comfortable beds, good generous breakfast, TV, very pleasant staff, and tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms were clean and the water was hot in the shower. We stayed to break the journey from Scotland going further south and then immediately rebooked for the return journey. Well done Decor a little dated but suited the elegant, high ceiling, victorian rooms.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Located well for main town area & promenade. Good value for the price. Room standard not the best although to be fair, it was clean & at a budget price. Parking a bit hit & miss, just luck if you could park close to the hotel.

The hotel is certainly in need of repair work, everything is always spotless. If you want value for money and easy access to the shops, seafront and the countryside, this is the place to stay.

Basic, but clean and tidy. Staff were excellent, very friendly and made you feel very welcome. The location was ideal, out of the main hustle and bustle of the town centre, yet only 5 mins walk from all the facilities, railway station, nightlife, beach etc.

“It is a wonderful building with a rich history, the price was spot on, I took my mother with me and as she is 84 I politely pointed this out and requested a sea view for her, we were both given Premier rooms with big windows superb views, I would recommend room 34, level -2. The staff were very good and the buffet breakfast brilliant, my mother enjoyed her first cooked breakfast for 15 years, bless her. A big thank you to all at The Grand Scarborough” Paul, Boston Spa |
