We were looking for a comfortable and friendly stop-over on our way home from visiting relatives. The Grapevine was a great choice with friendly and helpful staff, a comfortable room and great food.
Friendly welcome, large comfortable very clean room and excellent breakfast
Dining room did not appear very welcoming so we ate our evening meal elsewhere.
Large room, warm and comfortable. Spacious bathroom. Food and service were excellent. Will certainly visit again.
The bed was very comfortable. Evening meal good, breakfast very good.
breakfast staff with don't care attitude, toast and drinks just dumped on corner of table no effort to place it in centre of table. drinks in bar unbelievably expensive £4.05 for half of shandy ,no wonder bar was totally empty and it was Saturday night ,we went across road cheaper with people in !!!!!!
Great room, friendly staff. Stow is a beautiful place.
location very good room facilities good A good choice at breakfast
room was cold on arrival , had to ask staff to advance boiler time clock to get heating on . (no further problems with heating after first arrival )
Made to feel welcome, very helpful staff, bed fabulous and hotel quiet so I got a great night sleep. Room Service steak seasoned and cooked to perfection and fabulous chips!
When I asked at Reception I was told Room Service was available but when I came to order the young lady was very hesitant and seemed worried about my request. The meal was really good so just a bit puzzled that there seemed to be a problem initially.
The garden room and bathroom were decorated beautifully and a perfect position for my husband who doesn't walk so well. The friendliness of the staff
The served breakfast was good but the buffet table could do with a re think - better choice of juices and cereals
Location was great and staff were lovely and very helpful organising flowers and wine in the room before we arrived, and the room was really nice, we had a premium 4 poster room
Didn't enjoy the food too much in the restaurant on the Saturday evening, in our opinion not a great choice and this is coming from someone who is not a fussy eater. I was also served up two scoops of ice cream on a bed of nuts when we had informed the hotel that I had a nut allergy, (this was changed immediately) and there was no one to meet us when we went In for breakfast (we went in for breakfast approx 1hr after they opened up for breakfast) we waited nearly 10minutes for somebody to come and take our order, and there was no milk on the buffet table for cereals, and the breakfast menus looked a bit like they had been designed by a 5 year old with different fonts and a variety of colours not to mention that they were just a piece of folded paper and had tea and coffee stains on them, we also felt the hotel looked a bit tired and lacked a little tlc

We were well received. Food very good. Room for cost excellent.
My wife is disabled and found that a "bar" between reception and small lounge would have been of assistance. The step is high and without assistance she would have struggled.
The position of the hotel is centrally situated within the lovely and lively town of Stow and makes touring the Cotswold a real pleasure. The staff at the hotel were all freindly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Nothing really except our room was situated at the front of the hotel so the road noise was not condusive to opening the window at night so the room was quite hot.
great location, friendly and helpful staff, good period features, comfy.
staff are hard to find, mangers even harder!
Definately the location. The actual cooked element of the breakfast was pure quality, the cereals preparation area could do with a rethink.
Untrained staff at breakfast. Also the actual grapevine should perhaps be moved from the dining area so the place can be properly cleaned.Whilst the location was superb the noise fron early traffic was very offputting. Double glazed windows could eleviate this.Toast served on a saucer was a bit unusual.
Really nice hotel, exactly as advertised, warm welcome room lovely service great would stay again
location and building
Nice location , friendly staff. Parking close by.
Bed was not very comfortable,
Uncomfortable noisy room, terrible bar - no atmosphere, worst beer ever. Stingy HALF a mushroom with breakfast.
Location was great room was O K
Terible service at diner given wrong meal then had to wait before being seen to, this took ten minutes in which time they asked if it was OK to take my wife's meal away and keep warm , no offer to re cook that one, disaster not what you expect especially as there was only eleven people in the restaurant Also the hotel has no atmosphere seems under staffed, and a little run down! Great shame as this hotel could be good!
Staff could have been friendlier.
Room - FAR TOO SMALL - if I wanted a very basic room I could have booked with Travel Lodge for a lot less £. Different from the last time we stayed at the Grapevine(room bigger and far more comfortable).
Room was clean, comfortable and decorated lovely.
The stairs to the other rooms went over our room, also the room above us was poorly insulated so it was very noisy when people went up and down and walked around their room. The bathroom was on ground level and the window was next to the bath/shower so people could see in, could have done with a blind at the window. There was also a lot of niose when the nieghbouring room use thier shower.
We loved the hotel and had a lovely stay
The only downside was we slept on a saggy mattress.
Room was good and nicely cleaned. It was the most expensive type so should have been good, though would not recommend to anyone over 5'8" as there were low eaves in the room and even shorties will need to duck considerably on the stairs as well.
Shower broke twice in one week so not sure about fittings quality. Also, the hotel decided to remodel the dining room during our stay which meant walking through this every time to get to the car (got paint on hands and clothes) and breakfast was resited to the room right next to it with doors open, so noise and dust accompanied breakfast to some extent (we requested and got a move to eat in the bar but the staff couldn't work out why we wanted to). Would just advise checking what the hotel might be doing during a stay as they're not that proactive thinking through the consequences.
Breakfast. Location. History of building View from room. Availability of parking Good internet
