Score from 397 reviews Good
The staff were welcoming and very friendly. Breakfasts were exceptional in both what was offered and service. The room /bathroom were very well presented and clean.
The bar was a mystery? Seemingly no atmosphere or custom put us off using it. Such a shame as we would have been tempted to book evening meals if the bar had been more lively welcoming.
The whole experience.
Friendly and helpful staff especially over having to check in so late. There was a large choice of dishes for breakfast. Room was small but nicely decorated with everything that I could have needed. Great for just an overnight stay.
The room was very hot and the double glazing made if difficult to cool down without being noisy
The hotel is in the town centre with a large car park near to shops restuarants and other historic places and buildings. Staff very friendly and helpful with a good knowledge of other attractions in the local area .
Location is great.
Décor is terrible, we had three rooms, one with a double bed that was so small the doors hit the bed when they were opened, the other two had bright red and pink wall paper with big black flowers. Wiring is terrible, I had to crawl under the desk to operate the floor lamp, and switches to the bath were mounted on the celling. Good thing I'm tall. Carpet was very dirty! Food is expensive and not very good. Won't be back. Not a bargain for the money.
The staff were outstanding. Perfect location in the Cotswalds. Parking good.
the all round feel of the place. the staff top drawer
our room was a little small for two people
The Grape Vine was well situated within the village of Stow-On-The-Wold and within easy walking distance from the bus stop. The ambience was typical Cotswold accommodation, very comfortable, beautiful view from the room and the services provided was very good.
The Staff; the room was spacious and clean; the bed was very comfortable; the breakfast was tasty
good service....polite and efficient staff.....excellent room ...good off road parking
The bed was wonderful. Sleeping was peaceful.
Good value for money. Nice small hotel in central location. Staff could not be more helpful and the food in the restaurant was first class for both dinner and breakfast.
If I am being very picky, I could say the furnishings were a little outdated.
Everything !! We had a super room and a super experience.
All the bad reviews, nearly stopped us from choosing this Hotel, having said that we didn't get room number 8 .
The ambience and atmosphere of the building, together with the courtesy of staff was very pleasing.
Second floor with no lift although it was appreciated that with such an old building this would be difficult to provide.
Food was very good. Staff friendly and helpful.
The bedroom (at the front) was very small with inadequate wardrobe space and no chest of drawers.
Great position, helpful staff, great breakfast included
Poor service, whitefly in dining room, 3 power failures in 3 nights, waited 15 mins in bar with no-one else there & eventually cancelled dinner, tv remote did not work (probably due to dogs teeth marks in it, tv regularly froze and would only receive one channel without switching off, did not have a single bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and we made do with last bottle of Pinot Grigio. I will not go on...
We spent a few nights here in 1984. We remembered the hotel fondly and at last revisited. It has been modernised but is every bit as good. We certainly would recommend and go again. Useful car park round the back. Good choice at breakfast and our Room 21 was lovely tho admittedly not much of a view !!
Would highly recomend the Grapevine, my partner and I stayed for 2 nights. Had an excelent meal in the restaurant and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Its also à good location for touring the Cotswold. Hope to be back some day.
As they would say in Lancashite Nowt (nothing)
Location Breakfast Comfortable
Quite expensive but that is probably just the location
Needs an update and decorating.
character of bar and lounge, decor and size of bedroom, lovely comfortable bed, separate bath and shower cubicle. overall ambience of hotel.
could do with thicker curtains with blackout lining
very friendly staff. Excellent choice for breakfast, and a very good dinner menu
Ambience, excellent food and courtesy of staff.
