The room decor was comfortable and fitting with the setting. The bed-room was spacious and there was a pleasant view onto the front garden with no buildings in sight. There's also a beautiful view onto Salisbury Cathdral spire from the breakfast room. There was a reasonable choice for breakfast items. The bathroom was nicely finished and felt clean. Very short on the choice of wines by the glass, though I understand that the list is much fuller by the bottle. The receptionist was unsmilingly efficient on checked in, which I found quite off-putting, though I might have got her on a bad day after a visit to the dentist. The morning staff were much more welcoming, though. The beds, while OK, were more hard than firm and the shower itself was just that little bit too small so I was knocking my elbows on the walls (I'm very averagely built). No shelf space above the sink for one's washing things. |

The Staff try hard, but the food is mediocre, Some parts of the Hotel in need of renovation. Room was correct and clean. Reception area and passageways were dull and carpets old and used. Not a good image. |

The food in the hotel restaurant, the location was great for sightseeing and shopping, very scenic, beautiful garden. Only the fact drinks were a little pricey but no more than any other hotel. |

The hotel was in an outstanding setting with views of the water meadows and Salisbury Cathredral. It was a friendly place, with good food. Our bathroom was quite small but adaquate for a short stay. |

The lawn runs down to the river and there are views of the cathedral Staff not very friendly. Wash basin in room was cracked. Breakfast was poor. We got shut out in the back garden and could only get back in through the kitchen |

Nice gardens, location. Nice flowers on outside of hotel. Breakfast was fine apart from the budget value sausages. Bathroom was awful. Too small, nowhere to put toiletries or hang up towels. Toilet seat was loose. Paintwork & carpets looked worn in places. |

I stayed at this hotel with my wife for one night as I was singing at the nearby Wilton House on two consecutive evenings and didn't wish to drive back to London in between. The staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly and the standard of English was never a problem. The room was large, comfortable and very clean, with all the mod cons you would expect. We were informed on our arrival that there would be a wedding reception in the bar until 11pm, but in spite of our room being next to the bar there was no noise at all when we went to there at 10.30pm. It is about a mile away from the Cathedral and you can walk there avoiding the main roads. Plenty of parking. The dinner was of an excellent standard. Great place to stay. |

The initial approach was pleasant with many flowers at the entrance, the staff were welcoming. The hotel is conveniently placed within easy walking distance of the town centre. The hotel was in need of a facelift and redecoration in all areas. |

Friendliness of staff and wonderful room - good size, every comfort and very nice view over water meadows and cathedral. Excellent location for visiting the shops and cathedral which are within easy walking distance of hotel. Dinner was very average and not good value for money. No hot water for shower. |

The quiet and peaceful surroundings. The fact that it only has 38 rooms makes for a more one on one stay instead of the busy hussle and bussle of huge hotels |

The location and view from our bedroom window. Pleasant staff. The breakfast fare was not as hot as it could be. It did not encourage you to eat an evening meal at the hotel. |

very polite competent professioal staff. nice lounges and gardens. excellent outlook toward the river and cathedral a minor detail in that you had to ask for someone to serve in the bar, but the hotel was full whilst we were there. |

The location is the biggest plus surrounded by lovely English countryside and with a great view of the Cathedral. The room and bathroom were clean and our evening meal was quite tasty. It's a good hotel but with a little more care and attention it could be much better. The hotel caters for wedding receptions and business meetings so while our first day was nice and relaxing the second however was taken over by a mass invasion. The staff are mostly foreign but they try to be friendly however there isn't much of a 'personal touch' feel to it. Breakfast was a little disappointing. |

The location is handy for walking into the city centre and particularly the cathedral lack of air conditioning meant the windows had to be opened. Being on the ground floor this meant that the noise coming from the bar and gardens was disturbing. The room was adequate but did not represent good value for money or it's rating as 'delux' |

Very lovely garden-like setting away from the city and yet close enough to centre of places of interest. Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms for a family of 3. Not really. |
