nice situation and the staff were friendly also the lamb inn was an additional attraction
parking but it is a lake district problem because its attraction
Great informal bar. Good food. Comfortable room.
Room ready for updating.
Very comfortable hotel with excellent meals - breakfasts and bar meals. Easy walking closeby and good pool facilities. Room spacious airy and light. Very reasonable tariff.
Restaurant a bit dark and claustrophobic but other places to eat.
Dining room staff gave excellent service Food very good Lounge extensive and very comfortable
Noisy overflowing gutter En suite bathroom small Car parking not ideal
Breakfast good lounge and dining room very comfortable. Leisure facilities good
Our bedroom was very small.
Friendly staff and helpful - asked about journey, and wished you safe journey home. Lovely evening meal. Size of room was larger than expected and the bed was VERY comfortable. It was good to see puzzles and games in lounge. Did not use leisure facilities but they were there if needed. Lovely.
toilet paper too soft - whoops! Coffee in the lounge was too cool once milk was added - a small detail.
bathroom very poor. room small.
Location was the key to me choosing the hotel. I cannot comment on the leisure facilities as I did not use them. Breakfast was reasonable. We managed to grab one of the parking spaces outside. Only stayed for 1 night. Would stay again. Its not luxury but it was fine for us.
Wifi terrible. Hot water in shower seemed to be supplied by a small cistern andvran out very quickly. My room was on the top floor. Dated 1980's but that's reflected in the price. Eggs over cooked.
Food, facilities, service and free wifi - all good. Excellent drying room, essential in the Lakes!
Ubiquitous canned music. People come to the lakes for peace. There should be areas radio and music free.
Location, free parking & good food
Very noisy room, could hear taps running, loo,s flushing from other rooms around us. Bed not very comfortable.
Loved the location and the facilities Food at the restaurant was really good Staff was very friendly and nice
The bathroom was smelling Issues with car parking Wifi wasnt available other than lobby Jacuzzi and indoor pool were cold
The location of the hotel The friendly staff An excellent breakfast!
Bed was comfortable although a little small
Breakfast , Room size , Bathroom , leisure facilities ( pool especially ! )
The Lamb "pub" attached is more like an extension to the Hotel lounge rather than a traditional pub ! Check-in could be earlier .
Our room was the last available and we now know why it was poor It rained in badly it wet our clothes The carpets were sodden the troughs above our room leaked and it was like a drum beating all night on our windows
Staff were pleasant and efficient Pub next to hotel was superb Very laid back atmosphere Good standards Good value for money
It is a very nice place and I think the staff could just have been a little more friendly - they are very efficient and the stay is pleasant but it could be amazing if the staff engaged with the customers a little more.
Bed was comfortable. Breakfast excellent. The lounge was warm and comfortable
Having to climb over toilet to get into the bath for a shower. Having a bedside cabinet in front of the wardrobe - bottom half of what should have been the wardrobe door was permanently fixed, making access difficult.
Lovely area for walking, central to everything.
Parking practically non-existent. would expect for a hotel of this calibre to have a car park big enough to accommodate it's guests. Unfortunately for this reason we won't return as we wasted time driving around trying to find a parking space each night and ending up having to pay to leave it in the public car park
Excellent hotel in Grasmere - spa facilities and swimming pool an added bonus- would definitely return
The bedrooms were too small not many windows in breakfast area, Breakfast on first day bacon/egg only, I wanted kippers for a Best Weston that is poor. Limited parking, 2nd day was parked 200yds away,on the road.
The evening meal
Room was not as expected based on photographs seen. TV had to have batteries changed so we could actually turn it on. Noisy bathrooms, from next door. Heated towel rail was disconnected so was never going to work Service at breakfast left a lot to be desired. Staff over stretched as they were dealing with 2 separate dining areas.
The room was spacious with a balcony. Room was a little stuffy during the evening and could have done with air conditioning. Breakfasts were excellent. The pub did great bar meals.
Lovely location in the heart of Grasmere. Very central for exploring the Lake District. Breakfast was good, nice quality and range on offer
Very noisy hotel, pub / bar / restaurant downstairs, doors slamming late into the night, people walking along corridors and in rooms above was extremely loud for some reason. Beds were very soft, not comfortable. Parking was non existent at the hotel and difficult to find anywhere else in Grasmere as it's such a small place
had a great nite chilled out good food few beers and a good nites sleep
Location was great.
Room dated. Bathroom was tiny and needed an update. Dining room featureless so cancelled dinner reservation.
