It was during the floods - but staff kept us informed of access situation & the restaurant, adjoining pub, lounge area were excellent. They also gave us a free upgraid to larger room. |

On arrival all the staff were friendly and very helpful, the setting was ideal being set in the middle of the village, there was the choice of meals in the hotel restaurant or the bar, the choice of food was very nice, although the hotel restaurant food was a little fussy for my appetite. I would stay at the hotel again The bathrooms were apparently recently modernised, if this was the case the papered ceiling was peeling due to the steam from the shower, and the skirting boards around the bath/shower where also showing signs of water damage caused by the shower spray |

Warm and comfortable rooms, spa baths, great food and a very comfortable and spacious lounge for after-dinner coffee. Great beer in the attached Lamb Inn. And of course a perfect location for visiting / walking-in the lakes. Parking can be a problem as there is insufficient on-site provision. |

we used the leisure facilities and were impressed by the swimming pool and spa. Lovely atmosphere and a wonderful breakfast. It is not really a dislike but more car parking spaces would be ideal especially in the summer months |

The relaxing atmosphere in the lounge, the delicious food and the coffee with cream and Kendal Mint Cake after dinner, the jacuzzi bath, the location and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful in both the hotel and adjoining pub, and the food in both was first class, with some really good beers in the pub! The room was very comfortable (decor a little dated but it added to the charm!) with a lovely view and we enjoyed the jacuzzi bath. We also made good use of the pool, sauna and steam room - we had it all to ourselves before breakfast. Gingerbread shop and Dove Cottage both within easy walking distance. All in all a fantastic weekend. Parking was a bit of a nightmare but this didn't really detract from the weekend as everything else was pretty much perfect. |

The central position and the leisure centre, the large lounge area. Parking was a problem. No air conditioning. No seat at the dressing table unit. A dirty tee- shirt was left in the bathroom. The newspaper was delivered at 8.45 a.m |

I found the hotel very friendly and was particularly impressed with the service on the reception desk. The room we occupied was extremely comfortable with two armchairs to relax in ( all other hotels I have stayed in only have one). A great hotel and good value for money. |

The location, and the facilities, in particular the indoor swimming pool and steam room. Staff were excellent, attentive and helpful at all times. The breakfast was first class. It would be hard to find fault with this hotel. The parking was limited, although not a problem as a space was availble on arrival. However the lack of parking spaces per no of rooms could be a problem at bust times |

Proximity to the town, and the Lake District areas I wanted to visit. The team were (mainly) very friendly, and made me feel very welcome even though I was staying on my own. |

We thought that the restaurant was very good and were most impressed with the restaurant staff. We appreciated the leisure facilities but were not very impressed with the gym. |
