The room was spacious and with a sitting area. The bed was extra large . The food was very good .The village location is very peaceful .

Generally the place is looking tired. The sauna was out of action and left in an untidy and potentially accident causing condition by the workmen. No signs or notices were displayed warning that it should not be used.The area outside the sauna adjacent to the functioning steam room room was a disgrace and littered with wood splinters and sawdust.

Location

Lack of car parking. Despite two separate requests to turn off the heated towel rail in the bathroom (which made the small bathroom unbearably hot) nothing was done, nor was there an explanation that it could not be done.

The location is brilliant, middle of the village. Good spacious lounge area. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Our room was on the small side and the bathroom was particularly small, having a shower nearly meant stepping into the toilet first just to get in. Pool was cold and gym/sauna area not updated or looked after.

Staff were pleasant and helpful especially Chris.

Initially given very poor room, however this was dealt with immediately I spoke to reception. Handled well by Chris who offered good alternatives and immediately apologised.Poor parking facilities, my husband is disabled and I saw no disabled space. Very few spaces you take your chance. Scrambled eggs at breakfast very strange, powdered??? Teach someone to make proper ones.

The food in the restaurant was excellent and the waiting staff were charming and efficient

Stair carpet was shabby and the supply of teabags was miserly

Nice and quiet right in the heart of grassmere village close to many walks.

The dining room & sittingrooms were very nice.

Not enough parking area. The bedroom was very disappointing for the money I felt it needed upgrading.The tiles on the side of the bath were coming away & the grouting was dirty.There was also a slight step to the bathroom which I felt was dangerous especially for elderly people.

I liked the warm friendly atmosphere, It was very cold outside at the time of our visit, so it was such a pleasure to be able to sit in comfort in your beautiful Lounge.

There really wasn't anything that I didn't like about the Hotel.

Rooms were nice and clean. Staff in restaurant were helpful.

Condition of the steps to the pool were DANGEROUS....numerous tiles broken off/damaged and some were loose, particularly at the edge of the steps....no signs present warning of the dangers, although it is repair that is desperately needed....this is an accident waiting to happen!!! (slips/trips/falls or cuts to BARE feet!) Parking was an issue as not enough spaces for patrons on the Saturday night, even when we returned to the hotel at 15:00pm.

Steamroom cold and sauna wasn't working or the showers.. Disappointed .really wanted to use these facility's .

Lovely warm rooms [despite heavy snowfall] and spotless clean. Breakfast is fantastic. Served to the table - best in the Lakes. They called me the previous evening at home - as for some reason I had put the wrong date on the booking, Friday instead of Sat but were very efficient and able to give us a lovely room with lounge area on the Sat night.

The main lounge and the leisure centre. Extremely good loaction for seeing Grasmere village.

Bedrooms were overly hot at night time even with all heating switched off. The coffee waiter at breakfast was very slow.

Lovely accommodation, very friendly and helpful staff and excellent food. Beautiful village with wonderful scenery and walking. We stay there every year and especially enjoy it off-season when quiet.
