Room was a bed and a desk, that's it. Hotel filled the desk- the
only surface available - with implements for tea and coffee; I guess
they were too cheap to install a shelf. The floor had not been swept or
vacuumed in a long time, our white socks were immediately filthy and the
white tile bathroom had hair that was clearly not ours. Walls were
scuffed and marked with god-knows-what. To close the door of the room
you had to slam it shut, so when any neighbor on the hallway of the
third floor walk-up (yes, walk-up, the elevator only goes to floor one)
entered or left their room they had to slam their door. This happen all
night because this place was a glorified hostel, and on a Monday night
people were blasting music and coming and going until 2am. Free wifi did
not work in our room, they said they would send someone up, never did.
Booking.com did us a disservice by listing the price in us$ rather than
uk£, making the hotel seem boutique.
The location was ideal in old town, not far off High Street, near the
castle, close walk to everything.
