Uniquely laid out, thought out and decorated hotel. Perfect city location. Friendly, efficient staff. All with a pub attached too!
Loved this Quirky hotel. Rooms spotless clean and facilities were good. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that.
We were on floor 3 but you got lift to floor 1 and then had to get out and walk 3 flights of stairs with your bags.
Comfy beds. Quite quirky. Excellent location. Great prices
It was great to step out of the door and be in the heart of the Old Town. The hotel was well-insulated from the lively streets outside, so although there was always something happening there was always the chance to withdraw from it.
The TV and the Wi-Fi were unpredictable - not that it mattered top us particularly.
Good location, quirky decor.
The most uncomfortable toilet seat I have ever sat on
Need a fridge
Close to everything, good walking distance
The map on the wall was helpful and decorative. Rooms were good size and bathroom was too.good location.
I had a room over the pub on a Friday evening. It was a bit noisy
That it was a lovely modern hotel. The facilities in the room were excellent.
Lost my way a bit at first, trying to find my room. Being between two floors
Fantastic location. Modern bathrooms. Comfortable beds.
Room was very small and there was no ventilation. It got very stuffy! The Wi-Fi wouldn't work in my room.
Size of room - very small twin. No wifi. Dodgy TV. Dark, no natural light. Strange sitcom- very cold.
The room was not fit to be called a double room. Even though it was Ryder cup weekend and prices high £250 a night was a joke. Definitly will not be using the hotel again or recommending it!
Excellent location for all the main visitor sites in Edinburgh.
Room was a bit stuffy and warm. Air con didn't cool it down.
The sheets and pillows were the best. The décor of the room was tasteful and modern. The room was spacious and well lit.
The bathroom sink had no room for traveler's stuff.
We enjoyed the location of the hotel,
Our double room had a leak and wasn't big enough for 2 people to move around in. The prison cells at the castle had bigger windows than this room. The staff didn't seem too bothered about there being a leak or apologetic for that matter (considering the price you think they'd be more friendly). The room we were offered as compensation was bigger, however was two twin beds shoved together, So sleep was interrupted. It may look nice on paper but the size of the rooms are definitely not worth the price
Location and pub next door
The double bed was touching 3 walls not good value for money eventually after discussions we were given a double room with space around the bed. I suggest you ask for room measurements when you book!
*Location *Clean *Nice shampoo products
*Wifi did not work in our 3rd floor *No room temp control on our second evening. They shut off the AC and our room got hot.
The room interior is soo cool, and the rest of the hotel. Breakfast in pub - very nice. Loved the huge coffee cups in the pub. Lovely bed - could put cases under it. Loved everythin, but the bathroom fixtures.
Bathroom modern, cool, nice, and hoplessly impractical. Shower: no use trying to shower and not wash hair at the same time. Sink shallow, and soap could not stay out of the sink. Toilet-seat felt like the ring was up. No use trying to put on make-up - light in bathroom and bedroom not good for that.
Location Excellent breakfast served at the pub next door
Extremely noisy at all hours-Fringe festival period. Aircon does not work even when on, so you have to have windows open- hence you are on the street....night time revelry, dawntime garbage collection, cleaning and all manner of trucks and heavy vehicles-all day/night. Staff where you are a rude interruption to their day, and they make you aware of it, guess they are short handed. Lifts that go to your floor but you cannot use as it does not connect to your room-hence you have to lug luggage up confusing twisty narrow passages. No phone so you cannot talk to the receptionist and have to track up and down when the electronic key gets "disabled" in the middle of your stay, or they forget to give you soap,or aircon is airless.
Location, was one of the coolest hotels l have ever stayed in with the decor and rain shower was lovely as well.
First night was a Saturday l had read bout it being noisy with Music at the Pub below and unfortunately they were correct, but everything else was excellent....
Rooms were clean, modern, comfortable and very unique. Liked the little treats for guests in room. Great location being only 10 min walk from the Royal Mile. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend the hotel to any traveler to Edinburgh.
Would have liked elevator to service all floors.
The decoration was gorgious, with themed rooms. Modern and yet warm. My room was small but comfortable and the bed was a wonder.
Cool hotel. Clean, central, comfy bed and good shower.
Clean smart modern rooms and bathrooms.
Shabby passages and stairs, poor wi fi to the rooms and attitude of hotel staff..
Friendly staff, providion of tea/coffee & tea cakes in room and downstairs
Small room, lack of elevator and twisted, narrow corridors
