Rooms were clean, modern, comfortable and very unique. Liked the little treats for guests in room. Great location being only 10 min walk from the Royal Mile. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend the hotel to any traveler to Edinburgh.
Would have liked elevator to service all floors.
The decoration was gorgious, with themed rooms. Modern and yet warm. My room was small but comfortable and the bed was a wonder.
Cool hotel. Clean, central, comfy bed and good shower.
Clean smart modern rooms and bathrooms.
Shabby passages and stairs, poor wi fi to the rooms and attitude of hotel staff..
Friendly staff, providion of tea/coffee & tea cakes in room and downstairs
Small room, lack of elevator and twisted, narrow corridors
Staff friendliness, and quirkiness of hotel
Quality of cooked breakfast. The fruit and pots of tea were excellent. Croissants dry, and cooked breakfast cold. Also sitting in a pub, although fine, with upturned mugs on sticky tables I was concerned about cleanliness
Very nice decor Free WiFi Helpful service and good recommendations for meals
It was a little warm at night and we could not control the air conditioner - it cooled off quickly
Perfect location, funky hotel
Intense heat in room, which we could do nothing about. Breakfast (in pub next door), which was included, was the worst breakfast I have ever had, it was a disgrace.
aprox. 10 mins walk from train station. Located in the heart of the city (few mins walk to Edinburgh castle). plenty places for eating.
the only downside is that being centrally located and if your room is facing the main road, then you will hear traffic noise
Visiting from the US this was a perfect location for my husband and I also brought our grandsons. They loved all the amenities they could use with their electronics. Within walking distance of all the events, great eating choices.
The cost was very high due to the l Fringe and the Tattoo events.
Perfect location for military tatoo and fringe festifal. Excellent breakfast and charming pub. Comfortable room with good facilities. As a plus the staff are cute too.
No problems really. Just speak up if you have mobility problems to ensure a room with good access to lift.
Very clean and comfortable, and our room was quiet. The hotel was located near a number of pubs and only a short walk from waverly train station.
This hotel is located in a great area, surrounded by local pubs, etc. The staff was extremely polite and courteous. I really enjoyed my stay.
in hub of city room was clean and bright beds were very comfortable close to tattoo
TOO expensive for what you got Staff could not fix our TV on arrival so we had no TV first nite Staff could not dig up a second chair for us Shower floors a bit too slippery for us seniors
Atomos and laid back feel
Noise in the morning mainly brewery lorries.
The staff at reception told visitors of ours that we were not in, when in fact we were.
Poor facilities, lack of comfort in rooms. Location too busy.Weird decor.
Love this hotel for its quirkiness.. Irn bru, teacakes and wham bars in the room and Dandy and Beano wallpaper. Beds are comfortable.
One of the rooms i stayed in this time had a smell of damp and was small for the price.
In the centre. Easy to walk everywhere.
It was pretentious and decor is too obvious tries too hard to be trendy. Staff were unfriendly and really awful.
It was situated in the Old Town which I love. The Tunnocks treats. Mugs for your tea. The Dandy book of course!
Single room was tiny. So what's new?
Well located, great vibe, excellent staff, well appointed rooms
Nothing - might be a tricky place to stay for those who have trouble with stairs.
Room was small but had more than many hotels provide. comfortable, modern in an old building. breakfast value for money. Central for most attractions. Different approach to normal style hotel rooms.
The rabbit warren like nature to get to room. this is the 2nd hotel in Edinburgh i'd been in where one had to drag ones bag up stairs and through many fire doors. I suppose this is the nature of old buildings!
The magnetic wall map and the grt bathroom space and fittings
Air conditioning was set too cold and could not be changed by staff. A mystery head office controls this!!! Overall a grt visit thanks to Andrea,Mel and new night guy Daniel
The staff were excellent and extremely helpful
The rooms are a little small.
The location is excellent, the staff really nice and the decor was awesome. Had a room to the backside of the hotel, which was very calm.
