The room was large and stylish with a good view of Edinburgh Castle. On arriving at the hotel the standard of service was set by staff descending on our car as we pulled up and removing all the baggage before parking the car for us. By the time we had checked in the luggage arrived and the facilities in the room were explained to us which was handy as we might not have discovered the variable mood lighting in the bathroom otherwise! It is also worth noting that unlike many city centre hotels this hotel has on-site parking.

We thought the freindliness of the Staff was second to none. From the domestic staff to the hotel receptionist. Very friendly and nothing was too much bother for them. Also down to earth and approachable for such a high standard of hotel. We've stayed at a lot of 4 & 5* hotels worldwide and the staff come across as being very aloof and snobby. That doesn't always work. This is the 4th time we've stayed at the Sheraton in Edinburgh & it was by far the best one.

Restaurant was very good and staff were pleasant

We were appalled to find it a construction site with poor amenities. Water pressure in room was poor and we were moved to another room where it was only slightly better

The hotel is under renovation for the next several months. It is noisy in the AM; the entrance is confusing..so much that upon our departure the hotel had staff manned at the elevators to assist travelers. In addition, the beds were very hard for a luxury hotel and spa,no in room wi-fi without a fee and really no place in the hotel to access free wi-fi. there is only 1 restaurant on site at the present time. it was over priced for the conditions.

The price.

The Sheraton is an excellent city centre hotel in a superb location. Rooms recently refurbished were of a high standard.

The staff at the hotel and the concierge were very pleasant and friendly the nationality of a lot of staff are Europeans, so talking about the history of the place they were as much in the dark as ourselves. The room was excellent except for a few lights not working, the mood lighting and the lay out of the room was very well presented. The pool and the gym facilities were very well presented but will comment on this later. The breakfast and the food in the morning was very nice and well presented in the light and airy dinning room

The points that let the hotel down is information because we only stayed one night we were a bit pushed for time and read that its best to book the hydropool.so I booked before we arrived. On arrival 7 hours after booking they had no confirmation, so they said from booking .com ?so we had to wait around and then they gave us the wrong room without the view we had specially booked, so no comunication between the two. Only one dressing gown in the wardrobe but this was quickly attended to, also they quickly changed the room. We got changed for dinner, and found that the dinning room was selfservice not as we would expect from five star. Also there was no dress code not what you would expect from 5star, they also have an Italian restaurant across the car park but unfortunately this was closed on Sundays,So we had to taxi to the balmoral and just got a table at late notice. To be refreshed for dinner as I said we had booked the hydro spar that possibly was a mistake, To surprise my wife I booked her a back massage it was all they could fit in to suite our time that was 50 pounds for 45min and she thoroughly enjoyed it. We spent about an 1/2 hour in the swimming pool which is in with the hotel but the hydropool was packed you could not get in any of the special rooms the outside pool and spar was fairly clear as it was very cold. One of the rooms had no lighting and the changing rooms were under refurbishment with builders working and pedestrian barriers around most of the area. So when I went to settle up the bill was surprised to find we had been charged £60 pounds to access the hydro pool which I took naively as in with the pool and with the hotel costs?.this for twenty minutes we could not use and the place was littered with towels, shoes on the floors the dirt in the pool of the spar, not up to five star quality possibly council municipally with a few more staff thrown in.

Very overpriced, especially since hotel was undergoing renovation. Initial impressions disappointing due to being unable to use main entrance. Inconvenient access to room through temporary arrangement which we were not aware of prior to arrival. We would not have booked this hotel if we had known that the spa was only available to us at additional cost. A very expensive stay. breakfast grossly overpriced.

First class Hotel and Spa, all staff are very approachable and friendly.

My friend and I stayed overnight in the Edinburgh Sheraton after going to the Usher hall to hear Nigel Kennedy. The location was perfect and so was our stay. We enjoyed a pre-dinner meal in the Italian restaurant in the hotel. Look forward to our next visit.

A good location, friendly staff and our room was clean and comfortable.

It was very expensive, as they are going through a refurbishment I dont feel they should be booking without telling people the extent of it. We had to use the back entrance that cars use and the reception is a porter cabin. Once we had paid we were then told breakfast was not included. We paid for luxury but failed to get it. We were very disappointed.
