Location and setting were excellent for our requirements on this trip. The food in the resturant was very good and the staff very helpful and polite. It make a change to be treated as a guest and not as just another number.
Extractor fan in bathroom did not work leaving a damp smell in the room. Could improve the bathrrom by adding a shower curtain or screen to prevent water covering the bathroom floor. This bathroom did not work as a wet room! Would have to consider a room with wifi if we visit again.
Very nice hotel. Close to airport. Bedroom very clean. Bed comfortable. Barhroom in lovely style. Will defo back there again.
Not very easy to find in the dark on a winter evening. Badly signposted
Lovely location very pretty and relaxing if you lead a manic lifestyle.
No wifi in the out houses and with a poor service because Vodafone don't cover the area that well I struggled with emails and daily little things when I got back on evenings.
Nice warm room very comfortable bed and nice shower room and very friendly helpful staff , have been here twice so far and defently coming back
Nothing to dislike
The location is perfect and so is the setting of the hotel a beautiful building inside and out very lovely
The hotel was in lovely surrounding, I liked that it was near an airport so you can see the aeroplanes flying over. The hotel room was a nice comfy room with everything you need.
The only downfall was I stayed in room 51, when having a shower it flooded the bathroom so had to use all the towels given to soak up the water, luckily I took my own towels .
The look of the hotel when we first arrived.
My partner and I have had a really bad experience with this hotel. When we first arrived at the hotel it looked lovely. When we got to reception the lady pointed out what room we were staying in (and pointed across the road) we were not staying in the hotel itself???? We went over to the out building and into the room to only find a sewage / strong smell of toilet throughout our tiny room. We went back to reception and they relocated us into a different room, the room again smelt awlful and was not worth £75. We thought when we booked our room we would be firstly staying in the hotel itself and not an outhouse. We then went back into reception and they could not offer us a room in the actual hotel, so of course we didn't stay because of the poor quality of rooms and service.
Great location. Very handy for the airport. Helpful and friendly staff. Disabled accessible room was well placed and roomy.
Room was rather noisy from overhead aircraft! Disabled room needs handrails in wet room area and not just cold water only in a tiny basin. Also somewhere to hang towels would have been useful.
The Hungarian Waiter was very polite and correct amount of attention
Room was far too cold, had a superior double and it had one medium sized radiator over one side of the room, so the room was extremely cold and no possibility to turn up the temperature-when mentioning this to staff on early checkout, the man seemed very agitated that we didn't say on the night, but clearly they should have realised this, being it one of the coldest nights of the year. On arrival my booking wasn't catered for properly and albeit we new in advance from a phone call, the kitchen was only doing light snacks as it was being refurbed, but far too expensive £43+for 2 bowls of soup, 3 drinks and 1 sandwich and 1 toasted baguette, ripped off
It was close to where our wedding was and the grounds were beautiful. Breakfast was also good
The rooms were tiny and when we arrived we had a light not working a cracked mug and dirty pillowcase left on the bed.
small room, smells bad, no Internet, bad condition
good bed, excellent bathroom
Restaurant was closed and sandwiches proposed instead - on the coldest day of the year I want a hot meal, not a salad! They should have advised guests on their website that the restaurant was closed. I drove out and had an excellent curry nearby for the same price as their salad. I turned down the offer of a bottle of house plonk. Previous guests have complained about internal noise. You can hear people snoring, yawning and other "natural" sounds and the doors do bang a lot. A note on each door to close it quietly would help.
Location and beautiful setting.. Excellent value
Lack of food menu due to refurbishment but wasn't mentioned when booking!
Only stayed here for one night before flying from Stansted. Perfect location for the airport, only a 5 min drive away. Very nice hotel, rooms were lovely, very good value for money.
The bed was huge and the mattress soft and comfortable.
Forget the air traffic noise, that stops at night, however, room 31 has badly fitting windows on both sides of the room and the traffic noise was horrendous
Very noisy all night and the restaurant was closed for refurb, what not have booked this hotel if informed. It was not indicated in web page
It was nice and warm, considering it was snowing
The bathroom, smelt of sewage, the staff on the morning of check out never even asked was everything ok and the location was very isolated,so you had to get taxis to and from centre which were expensive and very expensive to and from airport by taxi,as no bus goes near hotel
Loved it, will be back...

WiFi was non existent, even in restaurant or sofa area
Too soft bed.
Very close to Stansted airport, clean, pleasant staff, large car park, comfortable bed. Cheap at £45 a night.
Wifi is virtually non existant anywhere in the hotel, it is near the end of the run way with plane noise. The room was small and with not many facilities. Noise also from the road most of the night.
Very clean and the staff were friendly , easy to find and was dealt with quickly, breakfast was also good with.very polite waitresses. Would recommend
There was a mix up over my room on arrival, but I was impressed with the fact they immediately upgraded me to a supirior room.Excellent customer service.
Very convenient to Stansted. Quiet, pleasant staff.
