Friendly staff, nice quiet room
The friendliness of the staff is ALWAYS a plus at the Gt John Street....Natalie is a real gem and always provides fantastic assistance and help. It's always nice to see a familiar face.
Towels are a bit rough in texture Breakfast can be a rushed experience when busy but the staff remain calm under pressure.
Water temperature was an issue.
Excellent boutique style hotel. Pricey though.
Luxury room, roll top bath and roof top bar!
Fantastic big rooms (boudoir grand) with superking bed and quality bedding. Casual bar style dining with tasty food. Roof top terrace with a norwegian style hot tub!
Constuction work on the road outside when i visited which caused early noise disruption, but reception were keen to understand this and talk to the contractors.
Reception helpful and friendly.
Everything else. Whole hotel is like a cave - my superior room had virtually no daylight at all. Interior getting tatty. Stinking hot rooms with aircon not working properly. £275/night room has kettle and instant coffee - pathetic. Awful breakfast with neglectful "service".Most overpriced and under-delivering hotel I've ever stayed in. Go elsewhere and get daylight in your room at 1/3rd the price.
I liked the hotel, facilities and staff very much. Initial impressions for the amount paid for a night's stay was "bargain"
When working away on business it is important for me that I have decent nights sleep. Although I thought the hotel was great on first impressions at around 6am I was woken up by what sounded like delivery vans, refuse collection (bottles) or noise from building work going on near to the hotel. This noise carried on from 6am until I left the hotel at around 830am. The noise from a building site nearby was so loud it was truly deafening. I am all for an early start when necessary but on this occassion I needed a good nights sleep so that I was prepared for my business meetings the following day. All ruined by the building work and noise going on around the hotel. I appreciate that this isn't the Hotel's fault necessarily but clearly the Hotel should advertise or at least let paying customers know to expect noise from the surrounding area that is going to affect your stay. Not happy
Near to Spinning Fields Excellent breakfast Lovely bedroom Soft pillows Fresh milk
More like a mini apartment than a hotel room, absolutely fantastic venue and surroundings!!
A tad expensive if staying more than one night but as a one night spoil yourselves venue, can't fault it.
A little bit different Rooms are fabulous Breakfast is great
The look and feel - very stylish. Roof terrace is great but as there was a function on all evening you couldn't make proper use of it.
The cost overall as it not so much better than other quality hotels. Appreciate that boutique hotels can charge a premium but the differential here is simply too much. The roof terrace looked great but as there was a loud function on you couldn't use the resident area with any degree of comfort or privacy. Pity.
friendly, cosy hotel
Roof top bar was closed so had to venture out
great location, cosy chic, check in swift, roof top balcony so peaceful even when there was a wedding that was taking place, paid half the price as there was a wedding, would stay again if the price was the same.
air con not very good the hotel was very warm needs attention, walls thin hears door banging loud conversation coming from rooms, not made aware of the 10% service charge on all food and drinks.
We got upgraded to a suite and loved it! We had our 7 month old baby with us & it was great for us all. We even slept until 8 because the blackout curtains were amazing & no noise at all from adjacent rooms, corridors or the party upstairs! We wanted to move in :)
Only minor thing was the mirror wasn't well positioned for getting ready (I had to sit on a cushion) & no full length mirror.
The room was beautiful, clean and huge. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on and I got a great nights sleep.
Was very disappointed that my wife and I were unable to use the rooftop bar as it had been hired out. I understand that this is a common practice in hotels but we should really have been informed before arriving.
The rooms are lovely and clean. The staff were welcoming. The hotel and location was perfect. Overall we had a very nice stay and we will come again when we visit manchester.
Drinks over priced, didn't understand why we had to give 50 pounds as a deposit for the drinks when we paid in cash. We would have preferred to check in at lunch time to give us time to go shopping and not worry about having our luggage with us. The roof top closed to early. Breakfast extremely over priced.
Pleasant change from corporate atmosphere of large hotels Comfy bed Pleasant staff
There was a function on - no access to roof, and service a bit dlayed at the banr
No hot tub after 11 !!!
Decor beautiful, service and doesn't feel that u in a hotel fantastic concept
Didn't like the noises in morning outside with what looked like delivers and pick up trash truck
Lovely decorations, lots of thought had gone into everything from the fresh cookies on arrival to the way the rooms were laid out and the extra books and so on to browse.
Nothing in particular!
The room was lovely and comfortable, with the bathroom on a mezzanine level. Superb rooftop bar area. Staff were fantastic and could not have been more helpful.
Plastic topiary ???
Staff were very friendly & helpful. Great location near to lots of amenities.
Leak in the bathroom from the toilet. Ordered a scone & tea which was £11 pp which seemed very over-priced particularly as the scone was tiny!
