Must have been a great hotel in the past and still some signs but needs investment to recapture Never managed to get onto the wifi
Easy walk to Theatre
Steep steps to entrance ( we have poor mobility )

Noisy from downstairs, shower was not vey strong.
Friendly staff Comfortable room
Noise from outside at night Difficulty in switching off bedside light from one of the beds
The pleasant helpful staff, the live music and good food.
Overall this hotel is good but as others have said the shower is terrible. Great staff good food. It's a tired old lady but standards are good.
The shower - sorry trickle.
Food...quality and value, especially the breakfast choices. Service...friendly and attentive, happy to engage in conversation
Cannot think of anything that was a problem
The hotel is very friendly and relaxed so it was no problem having our dogs there. Our room was very spacious and comfortable although there was some trafffic noise. The breakfasts are very nice and freshly prepared.
I found the shower hard to use but that may just have been me!
Difficult to park Top floor room very very hot, fortunately we took a fan but none provided

Excellent position, welcoming, and enjoyable food.
Good attitude from friendly staff. Comfortable bed and bedding. Good bar and dining area - with great atmosphere. Good breakfast.
Slightly dated decor and some furnishings. Poor shower (top floor).
The room was a good size and the price was good. The landlord / staff very helpful and knowledgable (we were looking for a property locally). Good wi-fi strength. Breakfast was excellent - one of the best.
Friendly staff and great location for the hills and town centre. Good shower. Clean room.
Needs a lick of paint. A bit scruffy.
Ideal for theatre and town. Staff very helpful
Very friendly staff, keen to help, great breakfast.
The staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Bedrooms No's 9,11&14 were spacious and spotlessly clean
The showers could have done with being a little more but as this is an old building I can understand why they weren't.
I only experienced the breakfast and that was good and staff friendly.
The hotel generally was shabby and bedroom and bathroom very shabby. The little things that make a difference were missing ie box of tissues, note pad and pen by 'phone, door frame was falling to bits, curtains needed attention, no safety mat in bath etc. The whole place need refurbishing.
don't expect posh plush rooms this is an old traditional hotel with good size rooms that are comfortable and do the job. Breakfast was spot on! choice was good on the cooked side and also cereal, toast just kept coming if you wanted more. bar was okay again traditional and had all that was required.
our room face the main road so some noise from about 7am
