Friendly staff. Only stayed one night, as a stopover for driving trip to Scotland. We had a room that was right off of reception, so did not have to deal with 'the maze'. Room was clean and comfortable, just what we had expected. Just wanted something reasonably priced off of the motorway. The breakfast buffet in the morning was good, and had a nice variety. We were there on a Friday night and was informed that the dining room was closed that evening, but we could order through the bar. Fine with us, we had a spot next to the fireplace and the pub was quiet and relaxing. Unfortunately it probably took an hour for our order to come out and then 3 of the 4 meals were delivered, and it was probably another 15 minutes for the last meal to come out. The woman working at the bar was very nice and apologetic. Food not great. Hopefully this was just a one-off incident.

Have previously stayed here before and the hotel met my needs very well. I booked three rooms and the receptionist upgraded all three rooms so we could all be next to each other. Definately recommend this hotel.

The Breakfast was fantastic, and for an overnight stay I was pleased with the rate. Unfortunately the stay was marred by a depressingly small room accessed by a maze of corridors. If all you want to do is sleep and shower.... Fine

The hotel was ideal for us as we were meeting friends in the Great Barr area of Birmingham. Things were fairly quiet on the Friday but that suited us fine. The bar and restaurant looked inviting but we didn't make use of them on this occasion, however the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is close to junction 7 on the M6 and is ideal for an overnight stop-off. It's a fairly large hotel with plenty of parking and has entertainment on some evenings which is popular. Prices are very reasonable compared to similar hotels and we would certainly use the Great Barr again in the future.

Nice staff. Made you feel welcome when you arrived. The room was quite nice. There was two big funtions going on with quite a bit of loud music but I couldn,t hear it from my room as the bedrooms are away from that area so I had a really good sleep.

The bar area The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was the room, extremely tired looking, door handles missing, trouser press broken, unattractive bathroom.

If you know or are happy to find your way around without using the motorways it is a brilliant location for the West Midlands. Good bar and restaurant with fair prices. My room was a little cramped and the corridors / stairs needed decorating and better signage this aspect gave the wrong impresion of a reasonable quality hotel. I would be selective as to whom among friends and aquaintences I suggested might like to stay at this hotel thought I would use it again myself.

It was in a great location for what we needed. The staff were all friendly. Parking was easy and plenty of it and we will go back again in the future as it is about 500 yards from our daughters new apartment.

As in our previous visits well looked after particually for my mother who is disabled , nice clean rooms, good food, very friendly & helpful staff, the booking receptionist going that extra mile to put myself & my mother"s rooms as close as possible to each other, in the part of the hotel that we always like to be. A very pleasent stay again & looking forward to our next visit.

The hotel is very clean and tidy, and staff very friendly. Our room was above the bar area and this resulted in being very noisy, people outside smokeing and again very noisy. Avoid room 311.
