With a superb central location, 2 minutes' walk from Reading Railway Station and the pubs on Friar Street, the hotel offers clean, comfortable rooms with air cooling.
Score from 1029 reviews Very good
Hillingdon Prince Hotel is 1 mile from Reading city centre and offers a gym, free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. Reading University is a short walk away.
Score from 845 reviews Good
Believed to be the oldest building in Reading, this historic hotel has original features, elegant rooms and a traditional restaurant.
Score from 244 reviews Good
Five minutes from junction 12 of the M4, the Bath Hotel is one mile from Reading town centre. Rooms all have en suite bathrooms and there is free parking.
Score from 369 reviews Good
Too many stairs to climb and very unrealistic in its design as a hotel
The staff were very helpful especially as I arrived late at night and I am a lone female , they put me at ease straight away.
Full breakfast! Quite a cosy pub downstairs, and still the place felt calm enough to be a hotel upstairs. No noise issues - except perhaps from the neighbouring restaurant.
The wifi wasn't strong enough to be used in the room, but it worked in the pub/breakfast
Closeness to town
Lack of parking
Room was excellent for the price. Staff were friendly throughout. Breakfast was excellent. Cereal and a well cooked English breakfast. Good location to centre of Reading and pleasant bar on the ground floor.
Room could have been a little cleaner. A thorough vacuum and dust would have improved the room. I left my phone charger in the room :(
Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. Large room and a good sized en-suite. They serve lunch and dinner and have a bar. Very close to the town and cinema. Buses outside go straight to the University.
No free parking. There is an NCP car park close by. The carpet was stained. They seemed to be short staffed as there was only one person looking after all the tables on the Saturday morning and it took a while to be checked in.
Good central location, comfortable and clean beds, the tv worked well in the room, pleasant staff, excellent value for money
Helpful and polite staff Excellent value for money Well located
-Clean rooms -Centre town (2 minutes) -Good breakfast
-The towels are smelling awful
It is where myself and partner went for our first trip away.
The pub had a DJ which was playing cheesy music with the bass so high it was like your bed was in the pub. Asked to move room and they said no we would have to wait two hours that was when the music would stop. Bar being run by teenagers with obviously no sense of common decency. Awful! Awful! Awful!
staff were excellent in sorting out problems on check in and allocating a different room when the first was not to standard..
being given a room that was known to be in need of repair and redecoration in the first instance.
Location, Pub Atmosphere great
Rooms may need a bit of updating
Like the location. They do a pretty good breakfast. And a lively bar.
Breakfast service was a bit slow. Room wasn't serviced and some one knocked on the door at 10.30 reminding us we had to be out at 11.00. Felt that was unnecessary
Location - ease of access to local shops & restaurants Decor of my single bedroom Free WiFi Dickens theme and history of building Breakfast included (although I didn't have time to eat it unfortunately!) The fact that I wasn't paying for things I didn't need
Key access to front door after hours was difficult - initially I thought I was locked out
Hot English breakfast was served. Hotel is located in the heart of reading.
You can only order something to eat. There is no open buffet for choosing yogurts, fruits cheeses or etc. There is no phone in the room. Toilet was not clean. Hot and cold water are separate.
Convenient for us
Noise from next door into the small hours. I slept well with ear plugs in!
The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was well-cooked, but no menu, so it was difficult to respond to the request for an order in the morning. The linen was fresh and beautifully pressed. Luckily, the WiFi is brilliant and secured so I could watch the Masterchef semi-final after all.........
This hotel is not in its first flush of youth and is looking decidedly careworn. There were water stains on the ceiling, the shower cublicle was rusty and mucky, the carpet and walls were stained and the very small telly did not work. The room I had was overlooked by a meeting room (which was in use until 10pm) so I had to sit with the curtains drawn, and this side of the hotel is bang next door to a music venue. There was also a pool match on downstairs in the bar, so not much peace until after closing time. There was no heating in the morning - so a bit of a chilly start to the day despite the miniscule oil radiator that had clearly been supplied with this in mind.
Staff were very friendly. Hope breakfast good.
Decor a little rundown and tired. Pub underneath - a little noisy but tolerable.
Good value for money - good location if you need to stay in Reading
Don't try driving there - traffic in Reading is a nightmare
Very central location. My room was changed to second floor which was much quieter.
No lift so needed help with my case up two flights of stairs. Had to walk through bar area to get to reception.
