Nice old building, strong 'pub' atmosphere in good way. Nice clean room, heating working well after few initial troubles. Friendly staff. Very close to everything you might want to do in Reading. There is no fridge in the room and no elevator in hotel. |

The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great value for money. The rooms were comfortable. The only thing to be aware of is that there are quite a few stairs to get to the rooms if you have heavy bags to carry. I would stay there again. |

Very friendly staff. Proper English breakfast. Free Wi-Fi! Real English bar downstairs, with people not only from the hotel. Pretty quiet. Single room is a bit small, at least comparing to what I'm used to. The heating was off, so entering the room was very cold (but, the heating system was efficient to make it warm quickly). On one day the cleaners took the soaps without providing the new ones - that was a bit unexpected. A walk to the room was quite long and with some stairs, so I can imagine people with heavy suitcases might not like it. You do hear a bit from the rooms around you. |

Good location and decent room for the price but in this case you get what you pay for. Secuity door lock was broken leaving access to the room open to the general public. The breakfast was good. |

Perfect location near the city centre. It is an old building, with slight smell of mould. There is no lift, you have to use a steep staircase - might be a problem if you carry heavy luggage. One of the windows could not stay open. Visitors from continental Europe might be embarrased by the separate hot and cold water sources. |

The staff were lovely and the rooms were good. Breakfast was nice, a proper full english that enjoyed eating every morning. Only let down was my sheets were never changed and this was noticable because of the large stain on the blankets that was there for the 5 days i was. The kettle was dirty and disgusting and the DVD player in the room didn't work. It was reported on the first morning there but nothing was done about it. |

This is an excellent value for money hotel. During my stay, the hotel staff has an excellent attitude. The room was clean and quietly. The typical English breakfast is something that you don’t have to miss. |
