The room was clean and large.
The bed was awful. The room was next to traffic lights and heavy traffic.
Value was reasonable and location in centre of town an advantage
Carpet in room stained Breakfast too late for my needs, should be an option not in with the rate as I would prefer to pay less if I can't avail myself of the breakfast No batteries in the TV remote so the room had not been checked properly No plug in the bathroom sink so wasted water. Staff provided one and said all plugs had been removed due to drunks overflowing the sinks during the Reading Festival but that was two weeks ago!
Nice pub on ground floor 4 poster bed
Bathroom floor covered in hair Hair in food Bed not very well constructed Thin mattress
Room, Breakfast, Pub and Location.
Convenient for central Reading
No good if you want to sleep at night
Fair price, large triple room. Friendly staff. Clean enough.
basic but clean and comfortable room, with good friendly staff, and an excellent breakfast, all close to the town centre
No lift, but the staff helped with my luggage
Great location. Close to shops and restaurants in reading Centre. Great full English Breakfast included.
Reception was a window at the back of a dark bar. Accomodation dated although clean.
They didn't even have a remote for the TV.
Friendly happy helpful staff. Very comfortable beds.
Breakfast took an hour to be served
The breakfast was good and lots of variety
We had to wait over an hour for breakfast on the Sunday. They ran out of knives and tea pots! One poor lady didn't receive her breakfast at all after asking for it three times! We were staying in room 1 which was extremely noisy. ..think it was the boilers or something but woke me up several times during our stay.
Staff were lovely. Room was small but had everything we needed, including biscuits. Breakfast was good as well which was a bonus.
The room was really hot. Not the fault of the hotel at all but they were right next door to a club which played loud music
On initial view 50% of the carpet was a mass of stains from ?spillages and wear. Windowsills were dirty. There was a tomato under the desk. Most of the furniture was worn looking. Bathroom shower screen was not clean. There was a paper towel and part of a sweet wrapper on the floor. Soap dish looked filthy. Toilet was disgusting - poo in bowl. After flushing, massive poo staining left behind. Wanted to ask for change of room but had a discounted, late booking and didn't want to pay extra for room change.
the bar area, the rooms, large clean and modern, breakfast superb
no on site parking
No Lift, thin walls, bathrooms dirty
The young staff were very friendly and helpful The location was great for the town centre and not far from the Thames for walking. About ten minutes walk from the station, possibly less Choice of juices and cereals at breakfast plus full English Got a good price for the night Overall a good experience and would recommend
There was a used shower gel tube on the corner of the bath when I arrived in my room and the toilet pan wasn't as clean as it could have been, but everything else was clean Would be helpful if there was a sign telling you where to check in! You have to go through the pub to the main bar and then a little window is opened in the Dickens themed bar area There was an office block opposite my bedroom (Room 14) and was so close I concluded they would be able to see in to the room as I could see into the offices.
The breakfast was lovely
Not very clean in room, mostly the bathroom hair in the bath plug hole, and floor was not hoovered. The bed was lumpy so not that comfy. Pillar post in the middle of the room.
1) Breakfast included.
1) Lots of hairs in bath and basin sink holes, water never drained properly from both. A long term problem. Additional hairs in sofa. 2) Cheap toilet paper. 3) Unable to use wifi. 4) Unable to get shower to work with the bath/shower switch in the bath tap. 5) The room booking via Booking.com never actually went through. Thankfully the room was still available when I turned up so it was possible for me to have it. 6) Ironing board unusable. Quality is lower than my £6 one from Tesco, which I've been using for three years.
Good location, lovely food and staff.
Needs some updating.
Triple room was spacious. Full English breakfast was more than enough. Location was good. We were able to walk to train station and the Oracle Mall.
Wifi failed in 2 nights out of 3 nights that we stayed.
The library room in the pub area-
Very noisy at night especially on Saturday night umtil way past midnight!
LOCATION,GOOD BREAKFASTS AND VALUE FOR MY BUCK.
ROOM WAS ABOVE BIN STORAGE AREA
The building picture online though you need to pass a busy road to see it for real. Breakfast, they gave whatever i asked for.
Very bad quality. Old and dirty. The shower i didnt manage to work. Lots of drunk people around. Too much noise from the downstairs pub. No proper service.
Very nice staff, good location, basic room and nice brekky but room absolutely boiling hot. Luckily they offer a fan. It was a very cheap room so no complaints on cost. Beds clean and comfy
Toilet needed cleaning. No toilet roll in bath room after we checked in. Room was boiling hot. Carpets needed replacing
