The location is ideal if looking for peace and quiet to relax and so close to London, therefore easily accessible.
The bathroom needed a little TLC, it looked dated and it was virtually impossible to keep the water in the bath when showering; so perhaps a different shower screen is required.
Room was cosy and bed was comfortable. The view from the room to the gardens was amazing
The heating generated an unpleasant smoke like smell. Bathroom could do with some redecoration.

Cleanliness of room and facilities
Lovely place. Very interesting historically with interesting architecture. Excellent restaurant with charming and helpful service Oldy worldy charm. Excellent for a romantic night or two away. So close to Heathrow, but all of the charm of a secluded village
Beautiful Room and beautiful setting not too far from the city. Attended a wedding here and all the details were perfect: from the food to the setting and the service. One of the best hotel stays I've had!
The hotel, the setting (but take a sat-nav, it is easy to go astray, esp at night). Reception fine, the porter was outstanding (even volunteered that the car could be parked outside the door of my coachhouse bedroom and fetched it from the main car park!
The restaurant is excellent, good food, service and wine list. The prices mean that it is not good value for money, which is why, I presume that it was half-empty on a Thursday night.
First class . FAULTLESS
magnificent room, wonderful, timeless mood, very well and thoughtfully restored and appointed. A casual salad in the bar was large and tasty, beautifully presented. Staff extremely helpful at all times; even traditional evening turn-down service in which room is tidied
Could not Fault it for Service or Value regarding the accommodation
I thought the restaurant prices and breakfast costs were too high, having said that the quality was good
Booked hotel with full expectations met. We got married here in 2012 and has always been special to us. The reception staff make you so welcome from the start then all other staff are helpful and pleasant. Whatever you require can be supplied obviously at a charge. The grounds are beautiful and always worth a walk round no matter how many times you've have do so in the past.
House and garden, view from room over garden, friendly staff, lunch sandwiches in bar, chocolate chip cookies.
Motorway noise, no lift, unreliable plumbing in bathroom, very average breakfast for this level of hotel - poor quality pastries. Where were the homemade jams?
Beautiful setting. Stunning grounds. Staff pleasant and helpful. Slept like a baby.
Estate Grill was very overpriced. Sent back cold fish. Pork over cooked. Starters lovely. Have never paid so much for a cup of tea in my room and have stayed in fabulous hotels home and abroad!!
Stunning buildings and gardens with a beautiful collection of art and furniture. Stayed with a friend in a standard twin room and felt very well looked after by staff. Ate a delicious meal in The Estate Grill and had a lovely walk through the gardens in the morning. We didn't use the pool but it looked lovely and I would like to go back again another time with my husband. It also seems the perfect place for a romantic getaway.
We had a couple of treatments in our room which was a lovely thing to do. The therapist who did them was lovely and we felt well looked after but I think the light in our room and lack of space didn't help her to give us the best quality job. It would be better to offer the option of a treatment room - especially for nail treatments where you need to see what you are painting! In hindsight, a facial or massage in a room would've been a better option.
There were 17 of us in the group and we stayed for one night. We had a special dinner in the Garden Room. All the arrangements were faultless and the staff involved could not have been more helpful. The weather was nice and the children had a wonderful time in the outdoor heated pool.
One of the rooms in the Coach House was in need of updating. The shower was very antiquated and the floor of the bathroom was stained and looked somewhat below par
very friendly good staff. Well presented premises with interesting history and beautiful grounds.
unable to black out the curtains in the bathroom, which has a frosted glass door to the bedroom, so the bedroom wasn't dark enough in the morning. Would have expected breakfast included in price considering price bracket. Some traffic noise audible (M25 quite near).
The beautiful house and gardens. Helpful staff.
Wardrobe space too short so could not hang up dresses or trousers on the hangers provided. Not enough hangers. Small room for the cost. No opportunity to make a cup of tea in the room. Some fresh fruit would have been nice and expected for the price. Breakfast expensive (£20).
The staff couldn't have done enough for us, the grounds were absolutely beautiful... it was a dream and I'll definitely be recommending it to others.
On your last night, don't stay in the city, stay here. GORGEOUS property, comfortable room, WONDERFUL pool, delicious Dinner. A great experience before getting on the awful plane (20 pounds and 20 minutes to Heathrow) home. STAY HERE!
The gardens, the party venue, the location.
Our bedroom was quite small and the en suite was tiny. The wardrobe was on the 'lean', but we appreciate this was in keeping with the surroundings. Also, bright red tiles in the bathroom!!!
Breakfast is superb. Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Very attentive waiters in restaurant. Room was quiet, very clean and luxurious.
Reception staff behind counter not particularly welcoming, bordering on unfriendly. However the porter was delightful, efficient and thorough. Keen to help at any opportunity. On settling account reception staff were much friendlier, engaged in conversation and very efficient
Room facilities, 24 hour room service, evening bed turn out service.
Wine waiter at dinner
Poor service at breakfast , shame as the food was superb
Bed was wonderfully comfortable. Linens crisply pressed. Towels plentiful and fluffy. In room coffee/tea/hot cocoa/shortbread cookies a nice touch. HOTwater.
Lack of anything stronger than mood lighting made putting on makeup or reading a challenge.
