Excellent breakfast friendly staff
Quiet location at the rear of the property even on a saturday night. Staff superb especially lorraine at breakfast. Rooms are basic but clean and functional with a good tv and free wifi.
Initial impression from the front of the property on a saturday night doesn't look inviting with lots of young people drinking heavily in the doorway. Decor could do with a facelift but if that puts the price up best leave it alone as it's great value for money.
well furnished, good size room with large tv, phone, en suite, tea and coffee making facility, car park just outside.
It was near to a relative we were visiting
Decoration all looked a bit tired - like it was years since a refurb. Carpet didn't,t feel clean. Taps in the bathroom sink difficult to turn on and off. Bed sheets were doubtful. Fans very loud. One fan noisy all night. Dirty cups at breakfast table.
Food was excellent and we were lucky to have some entertainment
Location - 5 min from where I was working. WiFi worked, but not well enough to stream Netflix. OK for basic browsing and email etc. Breakfast was great, and the staff are great.
Power went off in room after tried to charge mobile phone? (Room 5) Didn't get power back at all, even after breakfast next day. Rooms could do with refreshing, decor is a little dated and old, but for me when traveling for work is great.
Staff who could not do enough for you.Good value
Could do with some modernisation.
We travel all over the Uk with our show and it is lovely to find a place to stay that is so clean, well done to the staff and also big thank you for the lovely breakfast and helpful staff.
The staff were great ,breakfast plentiful, My wife and I had a really relaxing break.Thankyou and see you again.
Great staff, with good choice of breakfast.Clean and warm rooms that are good value for money.
Food excellent and service
Chef needs to use more spices in the curry but food was great nice stay
A warm welcome and our room was especially prepared ready for us at midday as we were going to a wedding. The room was quiet, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! An excellent overnight stay.
comfy beds, great food, good location for the motorway, friendly and helpful staff,
not being able to link upto the wi-fi
Comfortable rooms, very friendly staff, plenty of parking, excellent breakfast included in the price, and exceptional value for money evening meals and very plentiful. I would recommend this motel and I would stay there again.
The bathroom was a little tired looking could do with an update, maybe offer a hairdryer in the room, tv kept freezing.
Could connect to wifi but couldn't use it weak signal-maybe. .
Nice and quite even thou it's located at a pub. Room was big enough and had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was hot and lovely each morning.
This Motel for a cheap overnight stay is ok however with a few improvements it could be loads better. Firstly I would recommend the owners watch the hotel inspector on the web and learn from what others have as you like so many motels and hotel try to do it on the cheap and if only a bit more care and money was spent you could demand a higher room rate and gain better reviews. On arrival at 4.45 pm there is no reception as such after many attempts of trying to contact someone through the telephone system and wondering about, I eventually managed to get hold of a lady who came down stairs and promptly gave me my key pointed me in the direction of the rooms and I was just left to my own devices. On entering the room although very dated in decor it was clean and spacious with a massive flat screen modern tv the bathroom a different matter, the taps very difficult to turn on and off, on standing in the bath for a shower I felt that I was about to fall through as there was no under support so just stood on the plastic base which moved constantly giving a very insecure feeling. The taps were very difficult to mix you either received very hot or cold water as no mixer as such! Not at all not good from an H&S view. The bed a good size double however the mattress well all I can say I had to sleep on top of a folded quilt to give me some comfort as I was sleeping on all the springs if not so not a great night’s sleep with the fact the room door did not shut well so it rattled until I managed to wedge some card into the frame to fix it shut. Breakfast on walking up the stairs to the breakfast room no lift for disabled I was greeted by a very nice lady who seemed to be dashing about like a headless chicken all on her own looking after everyone taking orders serving and also looking after guests checking out The poor woman !!!! however an excellant cooked breakfast So all in all a ok place to rest your head with some very good points I.E.
Lack of staff and poor state of furnishings
location and good price also very clean
no restaurant facility on Sunday evening esp.on bank holiday
Facilitites ideal for stop over. Staff very friendly.
Room furniture shabby. Mattress caused me back pain. Bathroom smelly of old mopped floor smell.
Value for money, excellent breakfast
Lock on the door didn't work!!!
spacious room with comfy bed
Perfect location for Royal Porthcawl golf and Pyle and Kenfig.
Easy to find and very good welcome. Very fresh bed linen and towels. Rooms ample size.
No complaint but whole place could do with a lick of paint - just looks a bit tired.
