We didn't have a bad experience, though if I was the hotel inspector... I would suggest, brighten the place up, get some floral baskets, zap the weeds, dump the wooden benches, get a new green acre motel sign, place chairs and a table outside the ground floor motel rooms and somewhere for guests to dispose of ciggie butts. All cosmetic, but adds to that first impression. Luckily I persuaded my party to give it a go and they left with a positive experience. A better layout for dining might be considered, was a lot of walk through from one room to another.
Loved the ambiance (not so much the public bar - male domain! but not a problem, was a step back in time) This was Wales for us, the characterful staff, bought back many good memories. Great night's sleep, good mattress, clean, hot water a plenty, good breakfast and friendly all round.
