Score from 356 reviews Very good
It was quite a big room. We had an open adjoining room for the 5 of us which made it easy keep and eye on the kids. It is more of a dormitory style hotel and out of holiday season we seemed to be the only ones there. They opened the kitchen early for us for breakfast as we had to have an early start which was wonderful.
The rooms seemed a little dated. Didn't really affect us as we were there one night. We couldn't pick up Wi-fi in bedroom but could get it in corridor.
Cupboards flying open in the middle of the night. Strong smells that suddenly disappears. Loud banging noises. Trolley noises in hallway. No staff when leaving. We had to leave early hours of the morning due to being scared out our wits.
It was very clean. The staff helpful at all times, and nice breakfast
you really need a car, or its a taxi or bus to the town or seafront
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, big, clean room. Highly recommended. Sea view, too!
We travelled in two groups, both with older children - we couldn't get them out of the games room, that was a huge hit. We were also not rushed out of our rooms when checking out, a huge bonus!
The place very clean even the pool. Only downside was to many kids in pool.
Too many kids in pool at once. Further from town than we thought
No staff on the bar - had to fetch someone from reception No details shown for veggie options - had to ask
Dogs were welcome.
Beds were a little uncomfortable
Good parking facility and lift access to all floors. Games room and many other comfortable public rooms. Friendly staff
Very stiff fire door from kitchen to hall. Settee not too comfortable.
Very disappointed in the room for the price. Bar wasn't staffed half the time.
The old style flooring and building .. the size of the rooms
Having to go home
Lots of space in the apartment, The kids loved the swimming pool and games room, good kitchen facilities, friendly helpful staff, lift enjoyable experience, historic building, local information available, weather forecast
Parking was a little difficult in car park at times but spaces available on side street, no shower in apartment but one available in swimming pool changing room
Pool Salmon dinner was nice Area was quiet at night Close to pub for decent food Walk into town reasonable
Some of the food, bacon hard, eggs a bit raw, steak pie tasteless. Double bed very lumpy Coffee in restaurant awful Shower drain needed a good clean out Towels do not get changed even if you leave them on the floor
Very helpful staff that made the stay very comfortable.
The staff were friendly and made us welcome. The room was clean, the beds comfortable. The breakfast was delicious.
Food was excellent. bar also good. An old building with character
Lounge furniture in apartments were uncomfortable
breakfast good, welcome at reception good. Nice having a swimming pool. Being able to take dog at reasonable cost, which is very important to us.
room very basic. have stayed in other places for same price and with dog and room has been much nicer. Nicer furnishings would have enhanced the room. Swimming pool could have been warmer. More plants and picture decoration would make hotel seem more inviting.
Staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating, very helpful.
Deco was out dated or not in synch with building, need electric power showers and mattresses on beds.
had self catering apartment was booked in for i night but stayed two. is a old hotel but very well kept walls all looked well painted pool was again old but fun at a good price. we stayed two nights and was happy to see that hotel discounted second night to same price as if two nights booked, well happy, p.s autistic grandson loved the park for his leaves
all good needs more parking as such a poplar hotel
The facilities were fantastic for kids & adults!! Will be going again next year but for a longer stay.
Hotel was brill not to far away from the town and beach. Lovely pool and breakfast. Really good that there was a lift as we were on the second floor with a small child.
Not enough room in the car park had to park on a side street and beds weren't that comfy.
Free parking; spacious apartment; cheerful and helpful staff; well equiped facilities.
Location fair, but not ideal; slightly "run down" atmosphere.
The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool was great for the kids. There was a Park at the back of the Hotel which was also great for the kids. Will definitely visit again.
Nothing to dislike.
The hotel looked quite old and Victorian which I liked with large rooms and windows making it spacious and light. The breakfast was enjoyed by all the family. As a vegan I was impressed that my needs were catered for thoughtfully. We stayed in a family room which was clean with 2 bedrooms and en suite. It was clean and spacious. It has a large communal area including library, television rooms, toilets, seating area and reception which means you can do things within the hotel without being stuck in your room.
The swimming pool and changing rooms were not very well kept or clean. Our toilet had a fault making it difficult to flush.
