Our welcome was wonderful and thank you so much for the extra touches for our anniversary. The house is beautiful with a gorgeous garden, comfy lounge with sky and excellent cooking facilities. Would recommend, my only suggestion would be to put a lock on the doors.
Very helpful staff, relatively convenient and very affordable. Good and clean, bed very comfortable and lovely clean good quality sheets. Also a lovely indoor pool ideal for a night dip. Free parking ideal for bath and not too far to walk to town with easy bus ride back.
Shower cubicle in bad state of repair and needs a proper door for privacy.pool could have been cleaner and needs an out side light, front and back of the house.
My friend and I shared a room here as we went to a concert. The facilities are lovely, very spacious, and well kept. The host is a great, and if you need early check in he can also arrangarrange that for you
Put a sign outside so we can find you easier. I loved everything about our stay
Late check in Good communication from house owner Clean facilities
Having to share a bathroom and shower room. Only one of each for 8 people who are strangers
Comfortable home, with beautiful features. Good location with parking. Simple and clean room, with a comfy bed.
Downstairs shared toilet had no lock, also we were not able to lock our bedroom door. Which being two young females was unnerving. Luckily we were sharing with friendly older couples.
The energy had a sense of charm and elegance that was quite compelling! Buru was truly a gracious host and very accommodating. I felt a sense of peace throughout the house as well.
I feel there should be locks on the doors and an accordion door on the shower entry, rather than just a thin shower curtain. For those of a more modest nature this arrangement is a bit uncomfortable! The proximity of Green Hedges is a bit far from the town, however, for those in a hiking mood this can be a challenge in itself!
Shower had a curtain but no door separating it from communal corridor Bathroom mirror broken No mirror or bin in the room Towels damp Owner did not reply any messages No locks on rooms Pool unuseable Bedroom window didn't close Bed was a mattress on a futon base Room smelt odd despite 10+ airfresheners under bed No lock on downstairs toilet Massively overpriced we expect far better
It was clean, fairly centrally located, they allowed a late check out, but not really a place I wanted to spend any time in. Expensive for what it is!
Hard to find, no signage at all on the property. There are no locks on the bedroom doors, there is a shower cubicle without a door at the end of the corridor, with only a shower curtain, not a warm welcome, the facilities advertised did not seem to be available (pool). No lock on the downstairs toilet, I walked in on someone having a dump! No TV in room, no alarm clock
Clean home and friendly owner. Great kitchen and facilities. Bedroom we stayed in was clean and comfortable.
No locks on the bedroom doors so had to take our valuables everywhere with us. Guests come and go and overall there is a feeling of lack of privacy. Huge, great garden but quite unkempt and no tables or chairs to enjoy it out there so it's a wasted space. About a 20 minute walk to the centre, which is ok if you don't mind the walk.
Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Access to wifi
No access to a freezer as it was already full
The location was good. Staff were very friendly. The house was an excellent size with a large garden. Lots of potential to be amazing accomodation.
No lock on bedroom door. Would not be so bad if one family or group of friends rented the whole house but as we shared the house with 2 other families it didn't feel very secure. It suited us for 1 night as we were just away for a boozy night. Was looking forward to the swimming pool but when we arrived it was filthy and full of dead flies. Would pay £20 more and stay in hotel next time.
We booked 3 rooms for a group of girls on a night out our stay was hassle free and brilliant value thankyou for everything we will be back :-)
This is a large family home with a huge garden with a patio area and swimming pool. The kitchen is well equipped and we found it to be very clean. The bedrooms are basic but reasonably sized. If you are lucky enough to be the only guests then you have all this to yourselves. Close enough to the town to walk but there is a bus stop nearby as well.
Not very secure - no locks on bedroom doors and windows. Pool was a bonus and was clean but was absolutely freezing.
The sheets were clean.
The kitchen is dirty, old, and barely maintained. The oven was filthy with remains of many people's dinners. The door seal was hanging off rendering any temperature set irrelevant, not that you could tell what the heat might be, since all the numbers on the dial had long since vanished. The dishwasher was not only disgustingly dirty but the stagnant stench upon opening it threw me back onto the sticky table behind. Upon arrival (key was left under the doormat) We found a bin bag half full of smelly rubbish by the back door. Cupboards were full of half eaten food, empty food packaging and the fridge had only one shelf, no salad drawer or retainer units in the door making storage of items challenging We had to wash any pans prior to using them to remove the debris from the inside of them. In the lounge the furniture appeared to be missing some covers, there were wires snaking across the floor in front of the stone fireplace causing a trip hazard. No tourist information leaflets or even house information on how to use the pool for example. The swimming pool was, in my view, not usable. There were dead insects on the surface, and the pump was not switched on. The room was singularly uninviting having a somewhat sweaty appearance due to the condensation inside the double glazed units of the French windows. There was a hose in the water. We guessed the maintenance engineer must have been spirited away. We looked for him in the 'sauna room' but found only many paint pots. The 'piece de resistance' however must be the shower room upstairs. Situated at the end of a long hallway from which the bedrooms are accessed, we were rather stunned to realise that the room had no door. There was an insubstantial and semi-transparent shower curtain across the doorway held to the rail by only 4 hooks. The curtain did not reach the floor. The shower cubicle is lit and when the curtain is drawn you can clearly see a person in the shower.
It was very clean and comfortable and we had a warm welcome.
Character property. Garden. Space.
Location. Terrible communal bathroom. There is no door and the shower is directly in front of the communal hallway
The bed was comfortable
The property is neglected. Although it advertises use of the pool the pool is not maintained and was filthy dirty so guests cannot use it. We did not see any evidence of the bar-b-que facilities and the garden is full of debris. The oven was also filthy. The accommodation is not very welcoming as it's sparsely furnished, some sofa cushions didn't have covers on. There is no door to the shower cubicle, only a shower curtain and no locks on the bedroom doors so if you're sharing the house with strangers as you rent by the room there is no privacy or security for your belongings. Also the owner of the property was not very welcoming or socialable and did not give us any information.
The whole facility was lovely and clean and a decent distance from the central part of Bath.
The staff didn't have a good presence and didn't leave any contact information or information at all in the guest house. I realize that being a self-catering house means that the presences of staff isn't constant but a table with contact information, cab company numbers, information on the house, and instructions would have been nice. We never actually saw the owner and the only way that we actually got our key was because we showed up early to drop our bags and one of the staff members was there. When we came back later that day to do our actual check in there was no in presence, even though they said check-in would be between 3-9pm. The same thing occurred the next day when we were trying to check out. They said it would be 7-10am for check out, which was fine because we had to catch the train at 8am. But sadly, no staff was there to take our payment for our key. This was a bit of a stress since we had seen no staff at all and our booking information from our online confirmation stated that we would have to pay on site with our credit card. With no information and and no one to contact, we ended up making a make-shift envelope with a cash payment enclosed and a note. Which felt very un secure and sketchy, but really was our only option at that time. While the actually facilities were great, this part of the experience make it so I wouldn't recommend Green Hedges to anyone in the future.
Location and space. Large garden and large house.
Not as expected. A homestay at an slightly old house. Can do with more maintenance.
We were not allowed to use the swimming pool as it was not working - it looked like it hadn't been working for a while. There were no locks on the doors There were no mirrors, apart from one in the bathroom. The shower room only had a curtain between it and the hallway, so it was not very private!
In a good location, near the river, good facilities and beautiful garden.
Room was warm and bed was very comfortable. Very homely. The host text to say we could help ourselves to bread and fruit in the kitchen.
There was no door to the upstairs shower, just a shower curtain for privacy.
great staff,excellent,i recommend it!Michaela
did not like the room was not locked properly
