A friendly, family-run hotel situated in one of Fife's picturesque coastal villages, specialising in fresh fare, using local Scottish produce where possible.
Score from 83 reviews Very good
I liked the fact it has two golf courses very close and its position for an over nights stay during a long trip
we did not like the food at all both in the golf clubhouse or the meals in the hotel
Golf course, Spa, meals, Staff excellent, lovely village within easy reach of Glasgow / Edinburgh
Comfortable bedroom. Nice and quiet with a garden outlook.
Noisy floorboards and worn carpets in corridors.
The room was lovely that we were given, lots of space and very comfy bed,but under the bed was disgusting, clump of hair at back bed against skirting board and bits rubbish and lots of dust also very bad stains on carpet under bed.
The wide range of facilities_,out of this world.
Food Bed Grounds Parking Bar
Cleanliness of room Building a little tired Alertness of staff Distance to room from reception Speed of service Some of the facilities shared with hotel across the road.
Spacious rooms, quiet location, helpful staff, good bar food.
Rooms need refurbishing and more attention to detail in housekeeping, ie had to ask for clean pillows.
Helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. Very dog friendly Welcoming Central location for visiting attractions
Bed was a bit hard
warm ,clean , friendly
The location was ideal. Staff on duty were all very nice & helpful during my stay but in terms of the overall arrangements at the hotel there was something significant missing.
Breakfast was a shambles. Kept waiting. Very limited choice of hot items available. Coffee in the lounge later in the day was not great either. No phone in the room was an inconvenience as was no lift when travelling alone with luggage.
Really good size rooms, very friendly helpful staff and good facilities.
Slightly pricey for a long weekend break for a family of four.
Room was very comfortable with beautiful views over the garden. The staff were very friendly. in the bar had a very nice meal from very good bar staff. The girl at reception was incredibly helpful and helped us with resolving a number of problems always with a smile.
The garden was very nice
Standard of room was not up to what was expected, both regarding level of cost / price and the advertisment on web.
Surrounding area was good.
Our rooms were not cleaned at all during our 7 day stay....only towels were changed. Had to ask for toilet paper.
Breakfast was very good.
The room was dirty, and extremely noisy. Perhaps by booking through bookings.com, as opposed to being a cash customer, we were give a less than quality room. At any rate, our room was in the back of the hotel near the service parking and kitchen, and the noise was constant through the night. The cups, saucers, and spoons were dirty, and the carpetndidn't look like it had been swept. This didn't measure up to the standards of a 4-star hotel. Maybe a 2-star.
Friendly staff and grounds of hotel are lovely room was clean and had everything you needed. You can get around a large area from this hotel.
Bathroom could do with updating but still nice and clean
jack in the bar very pleasant server in the bar area in the evening +breakfast
lunch servers needed organising four people on but service was slow
Very happy, helpful staff, sorted a couple of problems very efficiently. Very spacious room with comfy bed.
Monty's resturant. Don't bother, food is ok, but the staff haven't got a clue how to run front of house. I could rant on about many problems, but my advice. Don't go.
£20 charge for our pet border terrier most hotels charge £5 extra
I ran a bath and obviously the sewage and water pipe had an issue as it filled with faeces and urine. I tried it twice. Same result. They moved rooms for me but I can't tell you how disgusting it was....and the bath was grimy before that. I have pictures to back this story up.
Location is very central and staff were very helpful. Bar food was excellent.
Breakfast was very disorganized with very slow service and breads/juices not being replenished. Generally, poor variety of food on display though e.g., when I asked they made me porridge
Loved the spacious rooms. Only criticism was not enough plug points..
Lovely spacious ground floor room with comfortable bed and garden view. Really good food - good breakfast menu in restaurant, and good variety of meals in Jock's Bar - good portions at a reasonable price. Very friendly team throughout Hotel. Excellent entertainment with John Verity in BackStage venue attached to hotel. Wide range of facilities on offer and good base to visit Loch Leven and other local attractions. We will definitely return.
No coffee table in room. Busy wide road to cross to access sister hotel - a crossing could make this easier. Tennis Court could be renovated and brought back into use.
The people that worked in this hotel were excellent, friendly, and made you feel welcome to Scotland.
