A friendly, family-run hotel situated in one of Fife's picturesque coastal villages, specialising in fresh fare, using local Scottish produce where possible.
Score from 87 reviews Very good
This non-smoking Victorian town house hotel is privately run by Jim and Doreen, offering ample private parking and situated in a quiet residential area, within walking distance of central Dunfermline....
Score from 84 reviews Fabulous
The bed was very firm. I usually find hotel beds far too soft to sleep comfortably. The room was large and clean.
No conditioner in the bathroom. Poor wifi.
Breakfast at this hotel was very good.
Room was dated with thread bare furniture. Bed small and uncomfortable. Bathroom was dirty and old.
Beautiful location, excellent room and very helpful staff - we had a wonderful time.
The location and use of the pool across the road at the sister hotel. The gardens looked lovely although we didn't use them and the staff were very helpful.
The rooms are tired and well worn in places probably due to the golf trolleys going in and out. It's expensive for the rooms if that's all you used like us, but I think it would be a good deal if you're a golfer and made use of the greens.
staff very friendly and helpful, quiet location leisure activities excellent
service in jocks bar was a bit slow had to wait nearly half an hour for food order but staff apologised for the wait.
Large rooms overlooking lovely gardens, very pleasant staff, really good value.
I liked the fact it has two golf courses very close and its position for an over nights stay during a long trip
we did not like the food at all both in the golf clubhouse or the meals in the hotel
We had a lovely large quiet room number 32. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would recommend the pool and spa and had a lovely meal in montys. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Great night away.
Walked all the way to your recommended restaurant at loch leven to find it was closed
Golf course, Spa, meals, Staff excellent, lovely village within easy reach of Glasgow / Edinburgh
Comfortable bedroom. Nice and quiet with a garden outlook.
Noisy floorboards and worn carpets in corridors.
The room was lovely that we were given, lots of space and very comfy bed,but under the bed was disgusting, clump of hair at back bed against skirting board and bits rubbish and lots of dust also very bad stains on carpet under bed.
The wide range of facilities_,out of this world.
Food Bed Grounds Parking Bar
Cleanliness of room Building a little tired Alertness of staff Distance to room from reception Speed of service Some of the facilities shared with hotel across the road.
Spacious rooms, quiet location, helpful staff, good bar food.
Rooms need refurbishing and more attention to detail in housekeeping, ie had to ask for clean pillows.
Helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. Very dog friendly Welcoming Central location for visiting attractions
Bed was a bit hard
warm ,clean , friendly
The location was ideal. Staff on duty were all very nice & helpful during my stay but in terms of the overall arrangements at the hotel there was something significant missing.
Breakfast was a shambles. Kept waiting. Very limited choice of hot items available. Coffee in the lounge later in the day was not great either. No phone in the room was an inconvenience as was no lift when travelling alone with luggage.
Really good size rooms, very friendly helpful staff and good facilities.
Slightly pricey for a long weekend break for a family of four.
Room was very comfortable with beautiful views over the garden. The staff were very friendly. in the bar had a very nice meal from very good bar staff. The girl at reception was incredibly helpful and helped us with resolving a number of problems always with a smile.
The garden was very nice
Standard of room was not up to what was expected, both regarding level of cost / price and the advertisment on web.
Surrounding area was good.
Our rooms were not cleaned at all during our 7 day stay....only towels were changed. Had to ask for toilet paper.
Breakfast was very good.
The room was dirty, and extremely noisy. Perhaps by booking through bookings.com, as opposed to being a cash customer, we were give a less than quality room. At any rate, our room was in the back of the hotel near the service parking and kitchen, and the noise was constant through the night. The cups, saucers, and spoons were dirty, and the carpetndidn't look like it had been swept. This didn't measure up to the standards of a 4-star hotel. Maybe a 2-star.
Friendly staff and grounds of hotel are lovely room was clean and had everything you needed. You can get around a large area from this hotel.
Bathroom could do with updating but still nice and clean
