Large quiet room (9), good, spacious relaxing area, choice of restaurants. Staff very pleasant and helpful but giving the general impression of working under difficult and unresponsive management. THE ROT STARTS AT THE TOP!! Small, but important details need attention to maintain 4* quality. Room not warm on arrival and bathroom heater not working. Paint touch up needed round bath. Thick dust on top of wardrobe. Mattress hard and needing replaced. Plate warmer at breakfast not working resulting in food going cold. Coffee and Hot water jugs not labelled resulting in a guest pouring coffee onto their tea bag. Entry to hotel blighted by puddles due to poor surface and/or drainage.

Easy parking, my room was clean. Eating in the hotel was a joke. Staff in the dinning, breakfast area were all young, late teens, there was no supervision. I was not told breakfast was a buffet, i was seated at a table facing a wall, rather than moving the seating to the other side of the table, which i had to do. Toast arrived without butter being available on the table. Coffee arrived without milk. Dinner the wine was opened before arriving at the table. Having said that the food was ok.

It is a well appointed hotel, staff were helpful and pleasant.the range of eating venues cope with all budgets. It has a relaxing atmosphere.the room on the ground floor was spacious furnished smartly with no traffic noise. We were travelling further North so the location was perfect.,we did not use any of the wide facilities eg swimmimg pool, visit the island but will do so next time. The hotel has a bus stop nearby so travel there by bus is easy.

Going to see the music gig in the backstage bar. The choice of dining rooms, the menu, real ale in the bar and bar service was good. Leisure facilities being across the road was disappointing.

I was through to see Rodney Crowell who was appearing at the hotel. Made sense to stay the night after a 60 mile trip. Gig was excellent and my room was very comfortable indeed. Grub in Jock's Bar was pretty average (although the real ale hit the spot). Next time I'll eat in the restaurant because I'll definitely be back.

The location was just right for my business trip, the staff were very helpful at all times. The room I had was very spacious and well appointed. I would have rated the room as excellent on comfort and cleanliness had the bathroom not let it down. The finish on the bath was worn and dingy looking, as was the surrounding woodwork. I also feel that the empty restaurant would do more business if a full menu was offered as the set menu was expensive. A range of food was on offer in the bar but I did not wish to eat in the bar. Sort this out and spend on a make over of the bathroom and I would rate it high inn my estimation. However I did enjoy my stay and would return.

We really enjoyed the hotels ambience and variety of liesure and sports facilities. It's location gave us easy access to all of the sites in central Scotland that we planned on visiting. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the choices for dining made it very easy to enjoy a wide variety of meals without searching all over.

Concert attendance - great idea to add this to the facilities. Peaceful. Excellent food. Area is lovely.Room was fine. Staff are nice. Breakfast. By 9.15 there was nowhere clean to sit, I sat at a table covered in used dishes, and nobody thought to lift them. The staff were turning off the toaster etc and juices were finished. Generally I felt uncomfortable as it seemed they wanted to close it down. Hardly a 4 star way of operating. People should be allowed a more leisurely breakfast.

I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, the chance to meet up with good friends and to hear some wonderful live music in Backstage at the Green Hotel. The hotel hosts a brilliant variety of music events and the venue is excellent if you wish to enjoy great music in an friendly and personal setting. I enjoyed a lovely bar supper with my friends before the gig started and although the hotel was very busy with a golfing event, the service was good and the staff pleasant at all times. The fact that our party was split between the two hotels when we had all expected to be staying within the one hotel, this was due to the golfing event.
