Absolutely nothing. Dirty with a slight odour. Staff not helpful and ignored simple request to check TV. No sittting area; no bar. Mugs/cups in rooms dirty with coffee out of date. Shower small and dirty. One of our rooms had no towels supplied. Toilet small and not very clean. Carpet in rooms not cleaned. Fire escape partly blocked with rubbish. Breakfast not appetising. Generally run-down and depressing.

Location only! My room was not cleaned regularly (even when they "cleaned" it was not proper cleaning). It had an awful smell. The service is very poor. Internet connection very very slow and it didn't work most of the time.

The location, that's about it. Firstly, you're not going to the Grenville, you'll be directed by a sign to the Guildford - next door. The room was a decent size with 1 double bed & 2 singles, which was odd as I'd only booked a double. Those are the only positive things I have to say. The room itself was dirty, the curtains had paint on them, the bedding (wool blanket) looked half-eaten & the "bathroom" had dust and hair still on the floor! I say bathroom because it's more like a plastic extended portaloo bolted onto the room! If only I'd read reviews elsewhere before booking, I would never have chosen this one, and I certainly advise other people to avoid it!

It was within walking distance to Oxford street etc and the station, approx 15 mins. We also enjoyed leaving I booked the room with the view that we just needed a room to wash in and sleep in at night after the theatre and a hard days shopping with no expectations of room service or gyms and saunas etc however there are basic rooms and there's basic! The room was spacious there ends the positive. The beds had one sheet and a blanket which my mother uses exactly the same type and style for her dog! The room was absolutely freezing at night, no sign of any radiators being switched on and no temp control in room. Don't get me started on the shower room! We could touch every wall stood at the door, and that's was when we wanted to stand there, and when using the toilet your knees touched the sink. My daughter described it as a bathroom that had been taken out of a caravan she is only 9! No bath to acommidate small children. The fibre glass walls moved and were mouldy, the soap dispensers had been taken over by triffids. I myself stood on a carpet nail persumably this was a fixing for the shower room/ toilet floor. Coffee making facilities, two mugs supplied for a room for 5, a used jar of coffee and powdered milk. Breakfast time, we were informed breakfast finished at nine (at a time when your away your just getting up) It is literally nine! The kitchen door is locked at nine, all clearing away and washing up is done whilst your still eating. There was 13 people at breakfast and only 3 croissants, when asked no more available! Toast was supplied 2 slices each no seconds available, basic buy yogurt, 7 of these. Hygiene poor. Staff had limited English and were clearly not happy in there workplace. Would not reccomend for family's with children.

Good location in central London They seem to have a problem with heating, far too hot in the room, and there is no way to adjust. Tiny bathroom, and a bed coud have been of better quality.

I wasnt impressed with the hotel at all even though we were staying for a night and out on a night out the hotel was disgressful. The reception was not in the same building as our accomendation once we arrived to our twin room the room was dull, dirty, small and very shabby behind the double bed there was a fire place that had been bordered and it was very dusty. The whole place smelled and wasnt modern at all the bathroom lets not even start with that first the toliet and sink were too close together and every time you went to the toilet i hit myself on the sink you couldnt even was your face over. The shower we didnt even try using. the bathroom looked like it had been taken out of a caravan and just put there. breakfast time in the morning was terrible the 2 ladys were rude and didnt speak english and couldnt accomendate for the amount of people were staying at the hotel.NOT WORTH THE MONEY

The hotel receptionist kindly carried our cases up to our room at the top and carried them down again at the end of our stay. Couldn't adjust the radiator in our room.

Access to underground not far to walk and nice area to visit Cleaniness was absent in all areas of the room, mattress was stained using blankets from world war 1 no duvets. Cleaning is not on a professional level. I suggest the management team check out Travell Lodge and Premire lodge for cost and cleaniness. When I pointed out to part of the management team the dirt/ wrappers also the tea/coffe baskets with used sachets he just looked indifferent. Dust on the floor and on the window ledge where some one had been sick he did not react at all. Built up dust every where. If your stuck to find anywhere else close to the Area you need to get to then its ok for survival for the night. At least its not on the Street. Its visited by a lot of europeans who properly dont know any better, as the manager put it " Its not a 4* Hotel and I'm not bothered anyway I can fill these rooms.

Very accommodating and friendly staff. Accessible area. Within walking distance. There was an effort to make the room clean. Although we booked for Grenville House Hotel, we were housed at the Guildford Hotel, so I am treating these two entities as one. What I experienced at Guildford Hotel may not be the same as in Grenville. Very narrow hallway and stairs making it hard for large luggage to mobilize but staff are there to help apparently. I think the place has not been upgraded for years now because the window of the room we stayed was broken, it was hard to close (pull down). The stairs can be fixed to cater to the safety of patrons, one can easily fall because the planks are beat up in the middle part. Other that that, generally the place was ok.

A sad run down place that clearly has no money spent on it for years. At that price I would have expected much better. I cringe at the impression places like this have on visitors to our great city.

Location was really good: about 5mins away from Russell Square tube station. There were 13 of us staying in the hotel ( double rooms, family room, triple room, twin room) and none of us had any problems. After reading all the negative comments, I had my doubts but we all were pleasantly surprised. I have stayed in worse places and this hotel gives to what you pay for. No one should expect much from any hotel in London if you pay this little. Our rooms were clean, no mold or anything in bathrooms. There were some occasions that some of the rooms had no hot water.

Bit pricey for what it was. I have previously stayed at a number of London hotels - booking only a few days in advance, and paying similar prices. Of all the hotels in question, this was the most basic. Also - the TV was locked and the hot water did not work all day. I had to take a shower on the Saturday evening of my stay and the water was very cold.

The staff was almost never at the desk - which was not in the same building. The room was tiny, in a sort of cave, the window could not completely be closed, and the hotel was very noisy.
