Owner greeted us at the door, very friendly, comfortable clean tidy room, excellent location, 2 mins from beach and next to peasholme park. Excellent breakfasts. Catered for me being a vegetarian. Will definatley return and reccommend. Owners made our stay very plesent, alot nicer than staying in a high rise hotel block. Nothing to not like. We really enjoyed our stay

The staff were extremely helpful and thoughtful beyond what was expected. Breakfast was prompt. Departing and breakfast times were negotiable. The location proved it difficult to get into town easily.

Breakfast was excellent. The shower was good, the refreshments available were good. Difficulty in using the very small wash basin and filling the kettle in this sink. I found the bed and pillow uncomfortable but my husband was comfortable.

Staff very friendlily, nothing was too much trouble For a deluxe family room I was very disappointed! No room at all, en- suite was so small you needed to open the door to get a wash, bed was very uncomfortable and pillows like thin bricks! And at £240 for 2 nights I expected a bigger more comfortable room

Although the hotel was relatively expensive, this was only due to it being Scarborough Gold Cup weekend and a last minute booking. Otherwise their normal rates seem very reasonable. Landlady was very welcoming and the breakfast was brilliant. Would stay there again no problem

I found the Gresham to be all you'd reasonably expect of accomodation of this type. Comfortable room, nice breakfast and with a proprieter who's welcoming and informative. If you want somewhere with a more homely feel to it as change to the usual Travelodge/Premier Inn type place ild recomend this one. The Gresham is a little distance from the town centre/promenade but this more than made good with the ease of car parking which is free!

We loved the canalside views of the restaurant. It was worth upgrading our room to see them too. Our little boy loved watching the barges and ducks. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

“It is a wonderful building with a rich history, the price was spot on, I took my mother with me and as she is 84 I politely pointed this out and requested a sea view for her, we were both given Premier rooms with big windows superb views, I would recommend room 34, level -2. The staff were very good and the buffet breakfast brilliant, my mother enjoyed her first cooked breakfast for 15 years, bless her. A big thank you to all at The Grand Scarborough” Paul, Boston Spa |
