Food in the restaurant was ok but, with one exception restaurant staff were mediocre. Room was claen and comfortable Receptionist was dowdy and gave the impression she could not be bothered or just did not want to be there. Maybe it was an offday, but it set the scene for the whole experience which we consequently did not expect to be up to much. |

Immediate surroundings nothing else Service poor, waited for bar food one hour, bar and bar tables constantly crammed full of unwashed glasses, staff were very clearly overworked and under resourced, resturant well below expectations, floor in resturaunt cearly not vaccumed from the night before, drinks machine in resturaunt left empty, soup rubbish, carpets very worn out and shabby in corridors. |

There was no directory of services available. A notice offering a 2 for 1 deal in resturaunt only available at time of check in was tucked away and not pointed out. The bar shut without warning even though there were residents still listening to entertainment in adjoining room. |

the food was very good and plentiful I do not like having my plate thrown on to the table. It would also be better to have someone speakingbetter English taking the orders in the bar & restaurant. The whole hotel is in need of refurbishment! |

the wedding venue and gardens were very nice. staff diffuclt to understand and not very accomodating . carpets in halways were disgraceful and in some places dangerous. I am aware this is a point picked up on by guests for a long time now .we had a bar meal which was dry and the chips were not cooked properly . the drinks were extremely expensive charging £3.40 for a pint of soda water . |

Wonderful surroundings and setting. Prompt service by housekeeper for iron and ironing board. Easy parking. Amazing live entertainment in the evening. Staff in the restaurant seemed to be over stretched in the evening service. |

The grounds and the surrounding area. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety and food I did not like the room which was small dingey and not very clean. .,The hotel itself was so rundown it was embarrassing. The eveni ng meal was awful especially my starter which I sent back but got no response fro the very surly waiter. |

The grounds the hotel sat in were lovely and it was convient for the moterway. The hotel rooms were very small. Although convenient for the motorway the noise was considerable. The staff were not very freindly and the hotel is very much in need of a refurbishment. |

It was a convenient overnight stopping place at a reasonable price and near to the motorway. It was so near to the motorway that the bedroom was never free from the sound of road traffic. It was a choice between being over-hot by keeping the window closed, or being deafened by the noise. Because of coach tour bookings, the restaurant service was unavailable to other guests and this too was a disappointment. |

The staff were very welcoming and supportive. They assisted in the smooth running of a family wedding ensuring that rooms were available for friends and family to get ready. |

Got what we thought was a good deal but not good value for money. Carpets in a dreadful state, food below average, few English speaking staff, very disappointed -looked ok on website. £5.30 for a Baileys (equtes to £106 per bottle) - only had one as did other guests. Not impressed at all - won't be back. Shame as area very pretty. |

The Gretna Hall Hotel was comfortable and relaxing. The ground floor room had a lovely view from the french windows over looking the garden. The staff were friendly and approachable, despite being busy catering for weddings.Evening meal and breakfast good and promptly served, we really enjoyed the short break. |
