Staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble In our room number 18 it felt damp the bathroom tiles needed a re -grout or bleach as they were very mouldy there was a smell in the bathroom and the whole room could do with decorating it wasnt until daylight that you could see stains on the curtainsand bed base. We did find that the toilet brush was filthy (possible cause of the smell) would recommend only if revamped

We stayed one night on our way South on a visit to family , the best thing about our visit was the extensive buffet breakfast , this covered all tastes and could not be faulted , in fact I have stayed in 4/5 star establishments when on business , that could learn a lesson there. My single complaint , that was made to the Reception Desk was that Room 16's bathroom had a stale drainage odour in it and as and as a now retired Plumbing contractor , I can clearly state that within the Stack System Duct there is a leak , possibly not a very large one , but significant in that the odour could be offputting for other guests , it really does require investigation and elimination.

The location of the hotel was excellent for us being close to everywhere where we needed to be. The staff were very helpful as we arrived earlier than anticipated and were given a room straight away which was available instead of having to wait around for several hours!

Beautiful hotel, perfect location and extremely friendly staff. We checked in at 1.30 am and the night porter came to the door to greet us as we got out our car. That’s what I call customer service! Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely like to stay her again.

We visited gretna with family, we had booked two rooms as we was under the impression all family rooms were booked up. We booked which we thought was the last couple of rooms. One twin for max 2 people and a doudle for max 2 people. As we arrived the double room actually had bunk beds in, therefore we need not have paid for two rooms. Best thing about our stay and what our children liked best was breakfast.

Lovely wake up call was a personal knock on the door at 6am - very thoughtful as telephone may have disturbed others. I was staying there en route to south of England from far north of Scotland - usually stay on motorway at service station but it was full. Reception un manned on both arrival and departure. No bath - I prefer a bath to a shower. I was sent a computer print out offering breakfast included - this was denied by reception guy - not what they do.

Through booking .com we got a very good price. The breakfast was excellent, and the room well furnished. Like many, this hotel was a little tired. The food offering was very basic.

Amazing value for money! Buffet breakfast was amazing! Would recommend this hotel. Room was small! Barely enough room to walk round it...but at the price I wouldn't complain. No other problems, lovely hotel.

Staff friendly. The cleanliness in the bathroom was good and bed linen clean and fresh. Lovely gardens and nice area. Not much noise at night affording us a good nights sleep. Rooms a little dated but at the price we paid its a very minor thing.

The hotel location was excellent as we where only there for two days at a family wedding. Value for money was excellent could not fault the hotel for the tariff we had paid. We ate in the bar one lunch time and could not fault the food. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. Will be recommending the hotel to family and friends and will stay again when travelling north into Scotland. Value for Money Excellent. Although the rooms where very clean and comfortable. They are a little tired and could do with a new alround makeover just to brighten them up.

We booked the hotel as my daughter had chosen to get married there. I personally did not have any problems but unfortunately my daughter and her fiance were spoken to rather rudely by one of the reception staff. (I do not know who this was). My daughter did complain and they received an apology, of sorts, from the person concerned. However, the rest of the party were treated with the utmost respect and the hotel went out of its way to make Anna and Mark's day one to remember. It was an amazing day, made better by the effort of your staff. Please pass this onto the staff concerned. I would say that the hotel maybe is in need of some refurbishment, but this is not a complaint merely an observation.

Everything was fine about the hotel. The staff were excellent, the service was good and the comfort was excellent. I had no complaints about this whatsoever. The cooked breakfast was not very hot. And I wasnt happy with the smoking policy. I felt it was too strict. In some hotels, especially in America and Canada, they give you the option of a smoking room, even though they have a smoking ban already. I felt unhappy about having to go down two flights of stairs, then through three sets of doors before I could have a ciggarette.
