polite staff, comfortable bed , cleanliness of room, location . ample selection for breakfast.
bedroom was beautiful. seemed like a new build. Breakfast good.
close to motorway and no double glazing! so too much noise from motorway.
Great location, with a lot of history. Friendly staff and good food.
Room was a bit small and too hot.
We got married at Gretna in July and had our reception at the Gretna Hall Hotel. The staff were fantastic-everything was well organised and the reception meal was delicious-our guests commented that the day was perfect. We will come back to Gretna to visit and would choose to stay at the Gretna Hall Hotel-happy memories!
Room was poor for the money we paid for it. Double room but really small. Old furniture bathroom below standard the shower once you got it on it wouldn't go off!!!
Poor mobile reception
Nice clean hotel with helpful staff. Nice clean and quite rooms, a good hotel to stop at on the way to Glasgow
The garden space for eating and drinking
It was a bit noisy from the proximity to the motorway
THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE,FACILITIES GREAT,
THE ROAD NOISE IN OUR ROOM AT THE BACK WAS CONSTANT, IF YOU CLOSE THE WINDOW T0 LESSEN THE NOISE THEN THE ROOM WAS TO STUFFY WITH NO AIR COMING IN.
The food and staff
room and bed
Food was good, hotel in a good location.
Staff seemed a little abrupt probably because there was a boisterous Wedding Reception
Location / Relaxing Atmosphere
No music at night One or two staff a little grumpy
Breakfast, good choice and hot. Friendly staff.
Pillows - hard as bricks. Restaurant, we fronted up and were told it would take 20 mins to get a table ready (for 2!!) despite the room being half empty. Menu confusing, fixed price but with additional costs for steak etc. and sauces. Bar menu small but good value.
The building, the room, the location
The room we had for the wedding was excellent! Just the right size for our small group... The barman was also excellent and good fun!!
The whole place was just a bit 'tired' and could do with a refurb in the future.
Lovely location and views reception staff very nice and helpfull.
Room very basic , room very small , bed small for a double , at breakfast felt rushed to finish ,plate being cleared away while still eating, breakfast staff didnt seem too happy to be there, we traveled 340miles and stayed here our first night glad we had booked elsewhere for remainder of trip wouldnt stay there again.
Ideal location next to motorway, beautifull garden for myson to run free and pleasant staff
Location. Hotel grounds were very pleasant. Good hot shower.
Hotel was "tired" needs new décor. Restaurant menu did not appeal to us, so we ate out. Bathroom very dated - tiles needed cleaning.
Bed was comfortable
We were the furthest away room in hotel. The window was open when we arrived in a tiny and dark room and we were right next to M6 motorway so pretty noisy which wasn't ideal as it was about 28 degrees outside and couldn't shut the window so not ideal really. When I went to shut curtains there were spiders and moths in the folds, the curtains had obviously not been checked for a while. For £78 this wasn't worth it. I thought about going to the Days Inn at Gretna Services but my wee girl was too tired just like the hotel. Staff very accommodating and friendly but wouldn't return sorry!!
The warm welcome as soon as you arrived room was ready before time. Food was very good especially their curry night. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic short break location
When leaving went to hand key in waited behind someone who was having a conversation the receptionist moved to the side asked if he could help Took the key didn't ask how stay was! !!!!!!!!!! Not good customer service
The location is good and the grounds are stunning
The hotel is in need of a deep clean, the beds are undersized and uncomfortable for 2 people to share and the bedding doesn't fit, the bottom sheet only tucked in on one side. The menu isn't straight forward because all of the dishes have a supplement which makes it expensive
Location.hotel grounds lovely
Location of bedroom. To far from lift.
Room standards - furniture/beds
every part of our stay was great from staff to food to very helpful .
i didnt like the fact that u could hear the busy motorway traffic the whole night no sleep as we were at the back of the hotel they really need to improve double glazing .
Excellent location for the wedding we attended. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice.
Bed was brick hard. Worst 2 nights we've ever spent in a hotel. Room wasn't particularly clean with spiders webs on the windows and a dead moth next to the bed so not vaccumed very well. Bedding was spotless though as was the bathroom.
