Good staff very nice food
Unfriendly receptionist. Being asked to pay before staying. Cold and draughty communal areas. Room right at the end of three long corridors. Too much of a trek for my 84 year old husband.!BB
Food in the bar. Cheerful breakfast staff. Choice at breakfast. Pleasant room. Plenty of parking.
Nice place to meet as we live in Scotland and they are down south , plenty of seating areas to sit and relax
there was nothing we didn't like
We loved everything and have already recommended the hotel to all of our family that we have spoken to since our return home.
The décor and furnishings are starting to look a little tired.
The staff gave us an impromptu tour of the Old Hotel where we stayed when we got married there 26 years ago.
No really bad experience,The rooms could do with updating.
The location, very pleasant staff, value for money.
lovely hotel, great food , lovely staff
No info about wifi
Very convenient, super value, friendly staff, tasty breakfast
Breakfast on the expensive side for what was on offer. The selection was not what I would call vast but continental breakfast consisted of cereals yogurt juice. The cooked breakfast was not very much better.
Room spotless and very comfortable just a bit odd to find one of the light switch at the back of the tv. That said it was a nice stay.
The bed was too soft and shower could do with up dating
The staff were very friendly and I liked the area
very cold bathroom needs sorting
comfortable bed and excellent breakfast
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast hat and tasty. Room clean, warm and very comfortable
Unfortunately, it was not possible to open the windows. The staff was very friendly and they tried to open them for me, but they wouldn't open because of the humidity. It wasn't possible to change rooms because they were all the same.
Marvellous food (breakfast and dinner)
l dinning hall was unable to accommodate an evening meal due to the wedding functions. My room was located directly above the dinning/function room which made it impossible for me to be able to sleep until well after midnight when the function had ceased. The walls and floor were shaking from the noise of the music below, the duty manager informed me that the function does not finish until midnight. I requested an alternate room that was not directly above the function but was told that this was not possible as the hotel was fully booked. I have stayed in many hotels which have functions but generally these functions do not encroach upon other guests looking for a restful nights sleep. Having driven a few hundred miles from the south of England and travelling north I was looking forward to being able to relax at least in my own room. I retired to my room at just after 10pm and could not believe the noise emanating from below, the noise became even more intense the later it got. I do not believe that the cost of the room was reflective of the standard afforded, the bedroom window was quite draughty and the overall tone of room was somewhat tired. I have emailed the hotel but still have not received a reply.
The staff worked hard to please
Staff very helpful and very friendly. Nothing is too much for them. The bar man was lovely and cheerful.
Double bed was small so next time will book a twin and push together, Also WiFi only worked in bar area
Quality Breakfast including Gluten free toast and excellent evening bar meal. Fantastic log fire effect in bar area Easy car parking and hotel had a great ambiance
Location of room, mywife has mobility problems and we were given a room at the end of a long corridor on the 1st floor, despite an advance request for a lower ground floor room
Breakfast, it was excellent and waiting staff were very good.
