Ate in the bar both nights and food lovely
Didn't like bed very soft and shower was not very strong
Friendly wecome from all staff that i came into contact with. Breakfast was served to table rather than buffett style. Room clean and comfortable
There was no menu in room, with travelling alone would of been nice to have been able to order something to eat in room.lovelo
Location. Staff, excellent meal the T Bone steak was fantastic. Would visit again.
Everyone worked together to create a happy atmosphere for the happy couple and their guests.
No complaints or negative comments.
The hotel was excellent, so was the food and the atmosphere.
Great staff & comfy beds
Wi-Fi is rubbish & Hotel could be doing with a bit of modernisation but good value for money !
Very comfortable and excellent food.
Didn't like the idea of paying for a Wifi - found out much later it was free! This should be made clear as most hotels offer free WiFi. Brochure said we should have to pay £7.50 for 1 hour.
I didn't use room service or Wifi so can't comment. Everything else were excellent
Meal quality excellent.
Traffic noise with window open.
Good location to shops . All staff really nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Price and cleanliness. Adjacent to motorway quiet and acceptable wifi.
As on overnight stop I did not use any other facility in the hotel other than the room. So cannot give a full report. Would be nice if the external smoking area was not next to main entrance.
Cleanliness of bedroom Price. Breakfast staff were vey pleasant and friendly
Bedroom lighting was very poor. Ridiculously dark - with no facility to brighten it at all. Bathroom was very basic, dated and needed decorating/refurbishing. Bedroom space was very limited - it was not possible for two people to pass at the base of the bed and it was not possible to sit at the dressing table and open the wardrobe door!
Value for money, love the history and charm of the hotel and Gretna . The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.
Was in a bedroom over looking the outside smoking area was quite noisy late night. The restaurant was booked with a private party so couldn't get a table. The bar food was limited.
this was are 3rd visit on a bed and breakfast basis breakfast always very good . the reception staff are always very welcoming and friendly.
we had booked this short break in September & requested ground floor room because my wife has arthritis in knees &on our last visit the lift was out of order, but we had a1st floor room. I also booked a table for 8, people on the Saturday night. that was a mistake as they were having a christmas party in the main dining room so regular guests had to eat in a side room. we were the only people in that room the table was not laid as the main dining room (no glassesno decoration no napkins) the waiter who I later learned was the night porter gave the impression he didn't want to be there. when the wine came he asked me if I wanted him to open the bottles ? then asked me if he should poor it. the al a cart menu did not live up to expectations t bone steak sat on a bed of chips steak over cooked.
Beds lovely and soft, fast efficient breakfast.
Given a disabled room? Bathroom floor cold. Have to pay for wi fi
Stayed here via booking.com it looked nothing like the pictures . We stayed here before getting married and were told as we booked through booking.com we were given any room . It was disappointing . I explained to the staff member possibly manager she had nothing positive to say and said well you booked through booking .com. For a regular night it would have been acceptable but anything special definitely not . Overal I like the breakfast selection comfort of bed
The staff , the juice quality at breakfast.
The staff were very, very helpful and the food was great.
Can't think of anything
The general atmosphere was excellent. The staff at the reception was welcoming. Breakfast was excellent.
The bathroom wasn't clean. Hairs were found and I could see that the bath tab hasn't been cleaned. Staff in her mid age came to clear the table at breakfast without excusing herself. It's very rud.The same person we meant her later at the bar ,she continued being. rud
Staff were friendly. Location was ideal 2minutes away from place we were going to for shopping.
There wasn't anything I didn't like.
Close to shopping centre, good parking, good comfortable beds.
Our cold water tap didn't work in bathroom the shower wasn't the best and there was mould around bath, bathroom let hotel room down a lot...
Location Price Food in restaurant was excellent both evening meal and breakfast
I had arranged for a bottle of wine in room on arrival and they'd forgot. Had to call reception.
Great breakfast . Helpfull staff
Noise from motorway
food was great staff good
Looks great from the outside, food on second night was good, free wifi, housekeeping staff very friendly but short staffed by the sounds of it.
Dirty tables, outdated decor, 90% of staff were miserable and seemed stressed, felt a bit like a social club in the bar area, food on first night was poor.
