I loved everything about this stay. Our room was superb, the food was excellent, lovely atmosphere and overall, really really enjoyable
There's was very little to dislike.
We used this inn to break a long journey. The room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Lovely choice of fresh fruit at breakfast and very good cooked breakfast. Evening meal was delicious.Landlord made a congenial host.
My daughter, 3 yr old grandaughter and I had a lovely stay, my daughter is a vegan and they went out of their way to cater for her, Mike is lovely, as is his gorgeous dog Ozzie. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely visit again.
The food and real ales
The food was excellent, marvellous menu and good quality food, the breakfast was cooked to order. The rooms were good and the bed was superb, would take it home if I could. The room was lovely and quiet. It was a welcome break away from the hustle and bustle of things back home.
There was a draught from the old windows, but there was a heater in room if to cold.
Not much. Owners not very welcoming. Had to ask barstaff about breakfast times, wifi codes and check out time as owner showed us to bedroom then left without explaining anything to us.
Their pet dog as lovely as he was, sitting at breakfast table looking for food. Wifi did not work in bedroom.
The location of the Inn was just far enough out if Bedale that is a lovely market town. The food- particularly at dinner ( steak night) was absolutely wonderful - all served by the pleasant landlord who made our stay very comfortable. Would definately stay again
There are no negative comments to make .
Very welcoming to both ourselves and our dog. We ate in the hotel both nights and the food was excellent and good value for money. Our room was a good size and very comfortable.
It is a quiet country pub with good beers, nice, friendly publican and very good and comfortable accommodation. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable we had a very good nights sleep. The next morning an excellent breakfast was served by a very friendly lady. We also enjoyed the company of the landlords black labrador dog.
The weather on the Saturday! Otherwise nothing.
Very friendly and comfortable.Very good value
Location was not great but was not an issue for a short stay.
Peaceful Georgian inn in Yorkshire countryside near A1
The food at the Greyhound is excellent with a varied and very reasonable menu. We stayed in the Family Room which was well equipped and comfortable. The staff were polite and friendly other than the landlord...
The shower in our room was either freezing or boiling, no in-between option. Of greater concern was the lack of welcome and general surliness offered by the Landlord. Whether we caught him on a bad day or he simply didn't like us, but he was taciturn at best, muttered under his breath whilst walking away from a simple request and generally made us feel like we were a significant imposition upon him. Although I would recommend the Greyhound for it's food and rooms, I'd have serious reservations recommending someone stay based on the rudeness we encountered.
The room was clean and very comfortable. The decor was probably a bit dated but it was certainly good value for money. The breakfast was both huge and delicious. I would highly recommend the Greyhound Inn.
It's a bit out of the way which meant that we had to take the car out to Bedale just to get cash.
The room was wonderful, the bed comfortable and the food adequate.
I arrived late which seemed to annoy the landlord as he was busy with the local boules tournament.
Stayed for three nights, enjoyed the friendliness of the manager/staff & 'Ozzie' the dog. The standard of food was excellent for both breakfast and evening meals. Rooms very comfortable with clean and fresh linen & towels.
friendly but not oppressively so, delicious food and very comfy room
Good food, spacious accommodation, excellent value for money.
Helpful friendly staff, good food and comfortable bed.
Although quiet location, you do hear the traffic as very close to the road.
Comfortable, relaxed Great menu, lovely dinner, filling tasty breakfast
Friendly and the ambiance good and the room was spacious and homely. the food was very well cooked and presented with ample portions
Being bank holiday weekend there was a wait for the food as it was very busy...but that was resolved by chilling with a wee drink.
Lovely spacious, qyality room. Excellent food, evening meals and breakfast. Friendly owner,
Stayed only one night but The Greyhound made a great impression on us. Friendly, helpful owner and staff; lovely food; large cosy room with ensuite shower; easy to find and very affordable. Will definitely stay again but longer than just one night.
There was absolutely nothing that we disliked.
Manager very helpful and friendly. Served good real ales well kept and good selection.Quiet village nice to relax.Handy for rural walks in countryside
