A short distance from the M23, Greyhound Hotel has good access to Central London and Gatwick Airport. It has air-conditioned bedrooms and serves food in its bar and dining room. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Carshalton Station, which has regular trains to London Victoria. The magnificent 18th-century coaching inn has been extensively refurbished. It has a non-smoking dining area with a contemporary menu, and a modern yet traditional bar. Hotel Rooms: 21

The food was very good and staff attentive On the first night we had a room over the pub at the front of the hotel by the main road which was very noisy and we had trouble sleeping. The next morning we asked and were moved to a different room in the hotel block which was fine.

The Hotel was surprisingly comfortable for the price and we will definitely go back when visiting family in the area. We didn't have a chance to eat at the welcoming bar, which appears to be widely used by locals, but will try to do so on another visit. The breakfast was well cooked.

Hotel is reasonably priced. Although it's a bit far for Central London. We wanted to stay in London for the Champion League Final weekend, everywhere is either fully booked or over priced. This is the only hotel within our price range. Hotel is quite close to the train station and breakfast is excellent.

Easy access to where I was working and carshalton rail station. Good sized, comfortable rooms, weel equipped. Free wif-fi was particualry beneficial. Good breakfast. I appreciated being able to leave papers for a colleague at the reception. I also liked the black and white photos of the locale scattered around the hotel and pub.All round a good value experience. As I had a few bags the doors were rather heavy and awkward to negotiate, but it was only at the start and end of the visit and they were fire doors.

The most helpful and considerate people I've ever met. They treated me like family and were genuinely concerned about my satisfaction with everything they had to offer. I will definitely stay with them again.

Great cosy atmosphere and quaint surrounding parks and neighbourhood. Service was warm friendly and the bar had a few good local ales. Room temperature can be controlled (no really, most places, the dial is only for show). Breakfast way okay. The plumbing for the sink was dodgy.

The huge bed. We would much have preferred to have been in the newer building instead of the rather run down first floor of the pub.

Friendliness of the staff. Always cheerful, willing and helpful. How nice to find a hotel that takes dogs and welcomes them. A second plastic doorkey would be useful on the few occasions when one person goes out and the other remains in the room I.E. being left in the dark.

The staff were all friendly and helpful we particularly enjoyed meeting the publican we have also worked in the licensing trade for over 30 years so were enteratined and greeted well We stayed in the main hotel and although the rooms were much larger they were dated and we could smell cigarette smoke. We viewed the other rooms and next time we stay will book in there

Location was fantastic, rural, but 1/2 hour from Victoria on the trains. Very easy and inexpensive to travel to the city. Staff excellent, but not enough of them which could have reflected in poor service. However owning a freehouse myself understand financial impact on our type of business

The breakfast staff were friendly but obviously overly busy, one person doing a whole breakfast serving on a weekend is not enough We felt very disappointed with our stay and would not recommend it. Their website paints a lovely picture of the rooms and service available. Considering the price of our rooms i would definitely not say it was a value for money stay. The room was smaller than expected, the aircon did not really work, there was chipped and peeling paint throughout the room and bathroom, we were not offered newspapers or breakfast in our rooms (which I would expect as an option with the tariff being paid), there was no choice of hot breakfast just asked if we wanted a full English, and finally most surprisingly and disappointing our rooms were not cleaned each day. We were down for a family wedding, everyone else stayed at the holiday inn in sutton, we opted for the greyhound expecting to recieve a better service and quality of room, however it was the opposite and we regret not staying at the holiday inn.
