Very friendly staff, facilities reasonable, wi fi really slow, dissapointed in bar which meant we went out at night! I would probably book this hotel again as location was very good
Nothing that i didnt like, that would make me not reccommend the hotel to others
Service of the young gentleman on the front desk was great
The expensive price when we went to rebook
To be honest I don't really write these but this hotel was the best hotel we stayed at. Great staff that work there and was at the best location never had to get a taxi anywhere but the airport.
Not much to dislike this place but there was two things wrong with the rooms there was no toilet brush in any room and no fridges ether
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location in the city centre, just around the corner from The Gate and close to lots of pubs and restaraunts. Decor was very nice and the hotel was very clean. Room was lovely, stairs going up to the bathroom were nice and it was different from other hotels. Cheap multi story car park just down the road, great for keeping your car overnight.
The lift was a bit small.
Bed Location Comfort
Noise in corridors Shower Speed and waiting time for lift
Location was great
Sleep disturbed by a fan system that went on and off all night. Attention to detail in bathroom-shower leaks causing plaster damage. Definitely not a 4 star hotel.
Good location for shops and site seeing
the room, it was nice but my comments to the right tell you some improvement suggestions
that there was no wardrobe, it would have made the room look that extra bit special and more homely. Also the TV was a bit dated, a room as lovely as room number 12 - which we stayed in - would have looked and felt the business if there was a bigger and flat screen TV. also is would have been nice to have had breakfast included baring in mind the price. a full English would do. but we had the best time it really is a lovely hotel
The location is superb; now Grey St has become such an excellent place for dining, the position of the hotel couldn't be better. The staff never stop smiling.
Location, staff and value
The hotel was fantastic and the bed amazingly comfortable, we were only dissapointed that after inspection we could not find the make of the mattress so we could buy one.
3 Bourbon biscuits????? Maybe add another packet.
Was bit noisy during the night
Lift was out of order and I had to climb 70 stairs to 3rd. floor several times. I am arthritic and asthmatic. Not good.
excellent location for shops, bars and restaurants. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Blackout curtains.
the beds were amazing!
the lift took forever!
Close proximity to shops and nightlife Comfortable room with good bed and excellent shower Friendly staff triple glazing was very effective in blocking out the traffic noise
Tiny lift Bar with a telephone to call the barman Breakfast was not the best
Cleaner binned our train tickets for getting home. No proof but they were in an envelope which was gone after the cleaner had been in. Cost us £125 to get home.
Poor choice of tv channels Very basic
Friendly and well intentioned staff.
That I had to clean the toilet seat and flush away the contents of the pan before I could use the toilet. Then I noticed other smaller cleanliness issues (a hair in the mugs in the room, residue in the bottom of the glasses in the bathroom, cream on the back of the toilet door) that I might not have otherwise.
Very central, nice room, great big bed!
Needed to get someone from reception to come down and serve a drink in the bar
I emailed the hotel before and asked if we could get a nice room, we got an ok room on the second floor, the silicone and grout was black, the shower only gave out cold water, the sink didn't drain, there were lipstick and fake tan marks on the walls.
Location Helpful and efficient staff
Main staircase badly needs re-carpeting. We have stayed at this hotel at least three times a year for a good many years now and we are sorry to see the main staircase deteriorating.
Near to good restaurants, access to the Quayside and bridges to Gateshead cultural buildings. Bus stop outside "Q1 and Q2 routes". Secure car park in Dean Street.
Comfort & facilities in room, cleanliness & size of the bathroom which was lovely. Situation to theatre & shopping centre, helpful and friendly staff. Will certainly stay there again.
Appearance of outside of hotel was off putting. early evening dining, 5pm onwards would have been a huge advantage.
