The Vermont is Newcastle's only 4-star independent hotel. Located next to The Castle, overlooking Newcastle Cathedral and both the Tyne and Millennium Bridges, it has a modern gym, free Wi-Fi and free...
Score from 916 reviews Fabulous
A stylish air-conditioned hotel just 300 metres from Newcastle Railway Station, within a 2-minute walk of the central bars and restaurants.
Score from 1595 reviews Very good
Overlooking the River Tyne and the Millennium Bridge, the Jurys Inn Newcastle Gateshead Quays is just 2 minutes’ walk from the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.

Located in the heart of Newcastle city centre and opposite Newcastle’s Central Rail and Bus Station, this beautifully preserved 19th-century building is now a modern hotel.
Score from 707 reviews Very good
Great location, great hotel , excellent value for money
Standard of cleanliness very poor
Poor standard of decor in rooms, several items damaged and not repaired grotty appearance
Cleanliness and comfort of the rooms.Staff always professional, friendly and helpful. Brilliant location for theatre, restaurants and shopping.
Breakfast was disappointing. One rasher of bacon and no mushrooms with the full English and scrambled eggs were dry and grey looking, although generous portion of smoked salmon.
The outside of the building was Lovely. Amazing eggs benedict - Probably best I've had
I would have preferred a quieter breakfast - the waitress was charming however I am not a morning person - a little too chatty
Staff and position of hotel and Newcastle fab
Rain and wind!
Young guy was reception was really helpful and friendly
Wifi was extremely slow, was too nosy , floor boards from upstairs creaking all night didn't get any sleep!
Shower was broken and not repaired after we reported it.
nothing was too much trouble-kind of difficult to get around the hotel with a large bag as there were a lot of stairs!
Central location, friendly staff, large bathrooms, comfortable bed. Will recommend to friends.
Wifi is not secured, hence no password. I suspect this causes the incredibly slow down load speeds, as probably everyone in the nearby cafes is using it!! Needs to be password protected for guests, rather than the current open access arrangement.
good location in Grey street right in the city centre and close to the metro. Friendly staff and confortable room.
WIFI connexion very poor and bad
everything.have stayed there 3 times now.staff are the best.breakfast great.location marvellous
Cold cooked breakfast and coffee Would be better to have coffee pit left on table
The location was excelle.nt as we were going to the Theatre Royal which was right next door.Room nice everything you need and we had breakfast I thought it was value for money. The receptionist who was on desk Friday night was very helpful and pleasant didn't get his name , would stay here again
Terrific central location near plenty of attractions and restaurants.
No onsite parking and not easy to pull up outside to drop off bags as it's on a junction! There is a council run car park 800 yds away which is busy but secure.
Staff very helpfull right by city centre room very clean will return.
Pillows were hard, thought breakfast could have been included in price we paid.
Being quite young in a big city like newcastle felt daunting at times but at the hotel I felt safe. We were also expecting more noise being quite close to a few bars but we found that there was hardly any noise.
The size of the room was small but the location of the hotel made up for it.
I really liked the decor and size of the suite we were upgraded to. The staff were helpful and polite.
The minor faults were having to go upstairs to the bathroom to access water, the bed being made of two singles pushed together and the toilet lid kept falling down onto my back when in use.
Room was nice and cosy
Didnt like the tv, very old with less channel options. Lift is very small
Staff lovely. Room very nice - beds really comfortable. Bathroom & shower fab !! Location good for our needs. Plenty if good restaurants near by - close to shops etc.
Hair dryer fixed to wall & nowhere near a mirror ???? Couldn't get near any of the mirrors to do make up or contact lenses - shelves - luggage racks etc in the way. Could only use a quarter of the wardrobe hanging space due to a wall sticking out !!! TV not brilliant.
The slow wifi.
Staff were all friendly. Lovely breakfast and bed was to die for plus great location.
I found the pricing a little steep. £178 for two nights in a standard double and breakfast was £10 per head for both days. Other than that it was pleasant.
This hotel is in a great location-a few minutes walk from shops, transport and sightseeing, and lots of good bars and restaurants.
The wi-fi was a bit slow. Long wait for the lift, which was tiny. The maid barged into our room one morning even though we had the do not disturb sign out.
The room was lovely, the staff friendly & helpful.
