The hotel was clean and the room comfortable initially until it became too hot. The first room we were allocated was very noisy due to a fan that was outside the window. We asked to be relocated and were given another room. The noise from the fan was still there but we were assured that it would be turned off at 10 o'clock which we thought was fair enough. The fan did not go off at any time and we were kept awake by the noise. Also the air conditioning in the room did not work and the room was unbearably warm another reason that we had a very poor nights sleep. When we checked out no-one asked about our stay. We told the receptionist about the problems who said she would report it to the manager. At no time was an apology offered.

This hotel is in an excellent location, and the building is a little bit different as well - nice high ceilings in the rooms and a vintage staircase. A bit more special than your standard chain hotels. The rooms are very hot if you don't have the air con on, and the air con is very loud when it is on.

The location is a good central base for the city sights and nightlife. The rooms are small and on our recent stay the room was very hot and the air conditioning was very hot.

We were welcomed even though we arrived slightly earlier than check-in time. I had asked for two adjacent rooms as we were four ladies travelling together, and although this did not happen and we were given two rooms on separate floors, we felt assured that safety was a priority, and the receptionists were helpful in pointing out the procedure for contacting each other's room by internal telephone. Check out time was 12.00, but we were allowed to leave our luggage in reception for the whole morning whilst we went out for breakfast and shopping, this was very helpful as our train was due at 13.15.

The Hotel is very well placed in the centre of Newcastle Rooms are too small, they are dark. I couldnt open the window more then two inches and it was really warm, to the point of uncomfortable. They could have warned us about getting a ticket at reception we parked outside put a tick for 30 minutes on the car. I returned to the car 43 minutes later were I found a £50 parking fine.

There are dust on the mirror, remote control and desk. Water from the bathtub very weak. The room is dark. This is not a boutique hotel as described in the website. This should be a two star motel. The room rate is too high, not value for money.

All good. Let us check in early and out late. Clean, good staff, great location everything was as you would like it for a city centre short break. Even lent us an umbrella free of charge which we handed back distroyed due to the unusually high winds and they were cool. Totally reccommend the place. Nothing bad

Hotel was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, staff were friendly and the location is absolutely perfect for a trip to Newcastle - very close to the Quayside and also to the shops in the city centre. Close to lots of bars and restaurants but wasn't noisy at night. Excellent hotel.

Great location but the map from the email site is lacking in directions. Hard to find the hotel with no signs or a good map to get you there. Great once you have arrived. Staff were fantastic! Had trouble trying to get the temperature of the room down! Too hot for me and my partner.

Bathroom was tiny with a damp stained ceiling, room was very noisy due to the traffic. Staff were very unhelpful. This hotel was not worth the money I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here the city has plently of premier inns which are of a higher standard then this hotel.

Ideal for city centre break. Although comfortable, not really a 'boutique' hotel as atated on their website. Somewhat overpriced.

Central location for shops and restaurants. Nice bathroom. Twin room on small side but nicely done out. Lovely old tiling on the stairs. Room was very warm (even in November), air-conditioning too noisy to have on throughout night. Had room on 5th floor at rear of hotel, with very loud generator or something outside. Neither myself or my friend slept.

They said they may refund for breakfast. Nothing yet. Don't expect much. It is bad. Breakfast is very dismal. Staff are nice. If you have nowhere else to stay it is ok, but I hope to never have to return.
