With free parking, a café bar and large, air-conditioned rooms, this modern Holiday Inn Express Star City is just off the M6. There is easy road access to Birmingham city centre, 2.5 miles away.
Score from 344 reviews Very good
In a peaceful, rural setting just off the A45, the Quality Hotel Coventry offers free parking, free Wi-Fi access, a relaxing sauna/steam room, and is just a 15-minute drive from Birmingham...
Score from 594 reviews Good
Was trying to get close to the NEC only 10 minutes away. Breakfast good
Room was a bit tired, peeling wallpaper etc. Biggest problem the Wifi only worked in the bathroom not the bedroom. Room 4
Very expensive Beds very uncomfortable Decor belongs in 80's
Staff and facilities were excellent, restaurant is excellent. Very helpful and knowledgeable barman.
rooms, especially bathroom needs updated, peach coloured suite with beige toilet seat and lid is a let down for this price point.
staff room comfortable bed hilary brian
needs a refresh of breakfast could be better
Location and public areas
Bathrooms in need of modernisation. Clearly the proposed route of HS2 is having an impact.
Location for Coleshill and NEC
Wifi signal wasn't good.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean, rooms comfortable and the food excellent. Secure car parking a bonus.
There was nothing I did not like.
The staff were excellent. Very helpful, friendly and efficient. The grounds were very pretty. Very little traffic noise despite our room being nearest the road. Breakfast and evening meal very good.
Could have done with more comfortable chairs in the bar / lounge. The bed (in our room anyway) was terrible. It was so hard we both barely slept at all and got out of bed in the morning aching. Badly needs to be rectified.
All the staff were really good - helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant and took the time to interact. When serving drinks or meals, that level continued. The hotel and location are excellent, lots of parking available with secure exit.
The bed was rather less good than more modern mattresses. More annoyingly, it was possible to hear (loudly) running water from a room next door (or possibly overhead) at various times.
excellent evening meal location, peaceful yet close enough to the NEC
Room was a good size
Room dated, curtains falling down, only two cartons of milk in room not enough for one cup of tea. service poor at breakfast, tea and toast forgotten about, small portion of cooked breakfast, scrambled eggs leathery. Generally breakfast service was poor. Hardly any toilet roll in room.
Good Breakfast, Comfortable, Quite
Check-in efficient, no issues, Room 22 near reception was given, nice enough room and a big TV was a pleasant surprise
Room 22 backed onto the Bar...Bit noisy until after 11....otherwise, fine
The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Small boutique hotel with a big heart.
Easy access from the motor way Comfortable rooms Quite, no banging doors powerful shower
Bacon at breakfast very salty
Room was good size, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly Position was quiet and in countryside yet very convenient for motorways and central Birmingham.
wifi dropped out for a while which was a pity, but no biggie.
The friendliness, the professionalism and of the staff. The food was amazing with little extras such as the amuse bouche and sorbet between courses which we both agreed was different and more than acceptable.
There are some aspects of the rooms that are a bit dated i.e the bathrooms. Also the tea/coffee tray was a bit basic and sparse for the quality of the hotel. I would also prefer to have mugs rather than cups and saucers.
Friendliness of the staff, very accommodating and welcoming.
Hair Dryer fixed to wall in the darkest part of the bedroom so not comfortable to dry your hair.
Easy to find, spotless, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Grounds were stunning, Secure car parking and well lit.
Bacon was cold at breakfast. Mattress was a bit past it. Too much noise from party going on downstairs, lots of screaming and shouting outside our window.
All of the above
The whole place is looking very tired and could do with a re-vamp
Customer Service was good and the room was comfortable and well situated.
No light bulb in the bedside lamp and the pillows were decidedly uncomfortable. Would suggest changinig the kettle in room 19 and clearing away the cobwebs in the corner. SOunding like The Hotel Inspector now :o)
Staff very helpful
menu could do with a bit more variation
We used this hotel for 3 nights while attending an event at the NEC. The staff are very friendly and, after a long day at the NEC, the in-house restaurant and bar are very convenient and relaxed.
Back ground traffic noise from the motorway. Not good for light sleepers.
I found this hotel purely by chance and glad I did, from now on it's on my list of favorites. Very friendly and helpful staff, the service is great and the restaurant food is of a good quality.
Good location for NEC. We stayed there whilst doing an exhibition.
Rooms are generally okay and staff are friendly, but bathrooms are a little tired and in need of an update.
