The place is really cosy, well taken care of. The environment is delightful, the whole area made our stay so much pleasant. The members of the staff, the cleaningness of the place and the breakfast are also near to perfect.
WiFi is weak, at least in our room, but we understood it is a hotel in the middle of the nature.
Staff we're very helpful and location was beautiful!!!
Bed was two beds clipped together so not very comfortable if you both want to sleep in the middle of the bed together!
1. Beds were too small! 2. We were international travellers, so naturally we had large, heavy suitcases. Our room was located on the top floor - with no lift!. With a bit of forethought, we could have been given a room closer to the ground floor.
The surroundings were beautiful and the room was very well presented, clean and comfortable. Breakfast choice was amazing.
No net curtains in the bathroom meant we had to pull the blinds down for privacy before using the bathroom which rather blocked out the light.
geographical location the breakfast
the totally arrogant and self-opinionated attitude of Manager which had "adverse" reactions percolating down through staff. very poor quality of food on offer/served for Dinner. fact that they only offer ONE choice(Bells) of Blended Whisky!
From the moment we walked into the hotel till the time we walked out everything was absolutely 100%. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and actually stayed at the Grinkle Park 6 years earlier. Nothing's changed - still a top top class establishment. Will stay again and no hesitation in recommending it to everyone.
Didn't like leaving !!
Location very peaceful and gardens lovely. Bedroom good but was disappointed to find dressing table with no mirror. So couldnt dry hair or use straighteners only by hanging off edge of bed and stretching cable from plug hole nearest to edge of bed. I think a mirror to get ready at is of fundamental importance, especially to a lady.
As opposite no dressing table mirror, I questioned this at reception and she said it is commented on all the time and every room was the same, so one would have thought the hotel would have done something about it. Not my idea of getting ready in comfort. No bar staff in bar area busy chatting at reception desk instead of keeping behind bar and servicing residents.
The food was awful
The general ambiance
Food portions a bit on the small side
We have stayed at the hotel three times, every visit was perfect, the location, staff, room and food,we carn"t wait for our next visit.
Size of room, quiet country location and easy to find.
Haphazard service in restaurant for dinner. Food was adequate but it would have been better if served together!
Great location for the coast and moors, this was a bit of luxury hidden away with a welcoming and friendly feel.
Location and hotel building. Bedroom small but comfortable. Good bathroom. Restaurant Ok. Staff really friendly and helpful.
Barman was a bit offhand and forgot our order.
Room Size Snooker Table Ambiance Grounds, setting
Hot, stuffy breakfast room, lacking opening windows
The room and grounds. The restaurant and service. Value for money was also very good.
Location and friendly staff
No fridge and complimentary water in the room.
Great stately house, but with an excellent modern bathroom. Comfortable bed. Great for a drive in the Moors.
Pillows very uncomfortable (too hard).
We happened upon the hotel by chance, intending to stay in Whitby, not able to find a hotel we liked at short notice we widened our search and came across Grinkle Park so glad we did. The staff were warm and welcoming but professional. Our room, Hydrangea, was spacious and comfortable with views over the North Yorkshire countryside Breakfast and evening meal were excellent, we would stay again.
Staff very helpful. On arrival they told me they had upgraded me to a suite which was very nice!
The pillows were not very comfortable.
Fabulous location and grounds Excellent staff ,delicious food
i enjoyed the location, secluded and beautiful area, food was good staff were very polite.enjoyable stay
Grounds and surrounding area.
Food was ok but lacked attention to detail.
The bedroom was excellent, clean & well appointed along with a very comfortable bed, the essential part of "Bed & Breakfast".
Both dinner & breakfast were average, breakfast was kindly served before 7.30 on request, but scrambled egg appeared microwaved. Waiting staff whilst friendly enough need more training, attention to detail was poor, more of a management fault than anything else.
