Comfortable room with king-size bed.Friendly and efficient staff. Lovely gardens and food that was excellent. Area very scenic with some heart-stopping hairpin bends and the steepest of gradients!

Large comfortable bed was a definite help to a good nights sleep. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and had a good selection. What I particularly enjoyed was the calm relaxing surroundings with access to some lovely countryside. Probably the best hotel that myself and my wife have stayed in, in the UK.

On arrival we found our room had been upgraded, the staff were extremely helpful, the food was very good and the sitting areas were most comfortable.

The staff were so polite and professional despite being quite young! The food was lovely and the building and grounds are beautiful! We were upgraded to a bigger room when we got there for no extra cost! The breakfast was exquisite!!

The room although was lovely had quite a stale smell to it so we had to spray several times! The drinks were very expensive and we noticed the chandelier in the dining room was dusty and held together with cellotape!

The room we had was absolutely wonderful, view across the grounds from out window was breathtaking We also had a meal during our stay which was very, very good quality. My partner said that the Sea Bass was the best she had ever tasted

I have said I wouldn't recomend Loftus in my comments and I wouldn't but the Grinkle Park is a wonderful springboard to the North York Moors and the East Coast, Saltburn, Runswick, Whitby etc

Surroundings, warmth and comfortable feeling, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, size and quality of our room, food and menu, general ambience of relaxation. Hotel and immediate area are to be recommended

Windows were single glazed and in poor condition. This is a minor point. Loftus itself isn't a great area but the hotel is far enough outside for this not to be a problem.

Great offer. Room was wonderfull an large, food was amazing. Will be going back that's for sure.

Location: beautiful building and grounds, excellent for moorland walks and handy for the coast. The open fire on a cold autumn evening was very enticing and relaxing.

No lift- not a problem for us but could possibly inconvenience some guests. It seemed a little difficult to regulate room temperature.

It is a stately magnificent old home - like a small castle

No elevator & having to haul heavy suitcase up 3 flights of stairs Dinner meal was very ordinary

Beautiful country manor house within stunning grounds.

Had a small double room and was kept up until 3am by the couple next door going at it for hours so didnt sleep well. Better soundproofing needed. The dining area could have also done with better ambience.

The location

I was very disopointed with the hotel there were flies everywhere when we were eating our food and in our room there were flies which were buzzing al around us and woke us up we could not open the windows either. I just wanted to get away from the place I did complain about the flies but they never said anything. The food was average for the price we paid for our meal you would expect something outstanding . This hotel had no atmosphere not many people there I can't understand why they charge far too much for average food I came away from the hotel tired because I never slept properly. In total we spent 200 with the food which frankly was not worth it and I will not return or recommend this hotel to my friends.

Everything, one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Clean, luxurious, friendly, we will definitely book again.

Dinner menu a bit limited.

Nice hotel in excellent location. Nice bedroom. Some public areas a bit tired though. Gemma - an experienced waitress was excellent.

The restaurant didn't offer good value for money - expensive without the quality. Breakfast took forever to order and be served on the first day although this was greatly improved on the second. Inexperienced staff didn't have a clue about serving wine. Would recommend with reservations

No lift Restaurant good, not excellent, portions quite small and when staying over a number of days limited choice and lacked imagination whilst quite expensive. For example, please change the pre diner offerings - not always olives and feta.

Beautiful place to stay, way out in the countryside. Friendly staff, wonderful food. Would stay again if we are in that area.

I have known g p over 60 years and find it on the improve since my first visit. For my purposes it is well worth a visit.

Next time (if ever) I will remember to quote my age. The room Skylark is difficult to access for those aged 75 +. Problems with the logic of the lighting circuitry. Suggest it is examined by a senior manager of the owning group. Major FAULT. Your previous guests have tipped their cigarette ends into the bedroom gutter. This should be advertised as a major fire hazard with a possible fine to those responsible. The existing rain getters are well filled with vegetable debris which could catch fire if a lighted cigarette is left in a gutter. Suggest owning management survey all gutters and provides a regular cleaning schedule.
