Excellent welcome, lovely room and bathroom, superb, caring staff. Indeed, 5 star service from a 5 star hotel.
The way the staff looked after us and was so polite
The drinks were expensive
In particular, the unfailing courtesy, efficiency, and helpfulness of every member of staff we encountered. The food was good and reasonably priced.
The decor and an impressive parking space.
Narrow corridors outside rooms
The room I was finally given
The room I was initially given
Very helpful staff once at the location. Efficient valet parking. Good to have complementary bottled water - unlike some other penny pinching hotels with this star rating! The shower over the bath was excellent and was better than many stand-alone showers I have used in hotels. Good bathroom overall - well appointed with loads of soft absorbant towels and good shampoo etc.
Person answering the telephone was difficult to understand and a little abrupt. The room (815) was comfortable and well appointed but would have been more so if a litle larger - but not a lot that can be done about that! Ridiculously expensive minibar! The hotel room details said the WiFi was chargeable but gave no indication of cost so didn't use it!
The way staff dealt with issues
Work going on so noise in room - was not warned prior to stay. Issues with heating and tv
Stayed at the hotel for convenience as we were attending a function at the hotel that evening.
I had booked two rooms in July to attend a function held in the Great Room, upon check in we were told that only 1 room was ready but as we were having afternoon tea in the Park Room that wasnt a problem we could afford to wait. Received a text to advise that our 2nd room was ready only to find out that the first room was on floor 1 and the 2nd was on floor 7!!!! why would I want to be that far apart when booked together? Then I was advised by the duty manager that because I booked with booking.com and not the hotel direct that even though I had requested 2 twin rooms they had to offer them to direct bookings first!!! At no time during check in did anyone apologise for this until I met with Jasper upon check out. Not an experience I would like to repeat thoroughly upset my stay
Lovely public areas Nice lounge and library
Bedrooms tired The furniture is dark and past its sell by date Light the fires its November The breakfast crockery is awful thick ugly mugs Food in buffet needs to be hotter
It is close to main shopping streets i.e Oxford. I like the lobby and the old executive lounge when there was more control on the TV and channels to watch (Now the channel is pre set). I like the fact that starbucks is available in the lobby.
I didn't like how small and narrow the suites are. I didn't like the fact that these suites are expensive and seems much smaller spaced that advertised. I didn't like the fact that drilling is happening while guests are in the room. Will try a different stay next time, this is the second and nothing have changed.
Internet is very expensive
Comfortable spacious superior room -value for money. Friendly & helpful staff.
- Perfect Location.
- Extra bed not comfortable.
Location of hotel
Our room was very noisy ,we can't sleep well ,because there were renovation started 7am
we felt that all of the public areas had a lot of men! rather than families or couples????/
The price is very high
Dining service close at 11
Location is excellent and the staff are good also
It gets crowded with too many people (especially gulf people :/) and the bath room ropes and cleaning accessories are not replaced daily
Trying to charge £60 for one hour late for the chack out
Loved the hotel lobby, the ambiance and the Executive Lounge. The hotel is close to Oxford Street and Regent Street - great location for walking. The staff were very courteous and helpful.
The towels in the bathroom were very poor quality and not soft. The bathrobes were huge and poor quality cotton. The room we had was starting to look a little tired and worn.
Lovely location, good quality hotel infrastructure, and the general courtesy of the staff
Park Room afternoon tea was laboured, and staff were attentive but appeared disorganised (we had the wrong tea, waited 30 mins for a follow up order) - was recovered well by the staff, but first impressions were not good. Wifi was attrocious - good in the lounge, not working in the room - and the fact we had to pay for it ON TOP of the room rate was disgraceful in my view - this is a top of the range luxury hotel and as such Wifi should be seen like running water in the bathroom!!
relaxed lounge area and friendly staff - everywhere is spotlessly clean
whilst you can turn the air con off the noise from the ventilation system is quite loud and intrusive on a nights sleep
Wi-Fi Charge. Minibar sensors which can charge without real utilization of the items. Advance Extra charge for guarantee.
