Friendly staff, good food in the restaurant, very comfortable, great value for money.
No wifi in room.
good clean hotel with helpful friendly staff
nothing to dislike
Service and facilities
mattress a bit too firm
The attentive staff, nothing too much trouble Breakfast - good choices Hotel undergoing refurbishment, finished areas are good Good leisure facilities including pools
Bed a bit too firm for me Dinner a bit mediocre, expected better- add ons expensive Car parking limited and on a slope
staff were very friendly, attentive and professional, breakfast was excellent and it was great value for money
limited car parking on site might be a problem in high season.
Cleanliness of the hotel food was great staff were very attentive
Car park seemed very small
The welcome from the staff on arrival, the sizeable room, comfortable bed and facilities in the room
The breakfast was a little uninspiring and the headroom on the approach to breakfast rather claustrophobic. We never got to use the pool sadly!
Playroom for kids. Accessories we were given for our son (like bottle warmer). Very good breakfast and friendly, helpful staff.
The room was on first floor but there was no elevator so we kept the baby's pushchair in the car. Food from Keith's Dinner restaurant based in the hotel not very good and not exactly what we ordered.
the food at dinner and breakfast was warm not hot
Great location, nice size room, good value for money
Squeeky floorboards from the room above
Staff - swimming pool Rooms, cleanliness
Had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend here 14-17 Nov 14. Nothing was too much trouble for the young man who checked us in and we had a lovely big comfortable room. The entertainment in the evenings was a real bonus. Looking forward to going back.
friendly helpful staff, spacious accomodation
TV in room was faulty...some areas had damp penetration but not in my room
Although we arrived early the staff were more than happy to attend to our needs. Also the room given to us was large warm clean n comfortable A great kids playroom
Downstairs toilets clean but a bit run down compared to elsewhere
We opted for one of the largest rooms and it was worth it. The extra space made the itself really felt and provided room for for a really huge bay window. The original plaster ceiling features were charming.
Personal taste: the bed was a bit too soft, and the shower over the bath was difficult to get a decent pressure from or a consistent temperature.
Good welcome by Reception, clear information on facilities and dining if required. Excellent room we were allocated lots of space and storage, although the heating was not the best and once highlighted it was resolved by Maintenance providing a portable heater. Some refurbishment work still needs to be done on the interior but overall good value for money.
Parking is not the best even though there are small overspill car parks. The floor in the breakfast room near the windows was very slippy. The American Diner although eventually provided acceptable food the wait to be served was over an hour. The chef(s) and staff were busy taking and supplying orders over the phone and internet. Guests in the dining room were basically ignored.
Excellent staff and good food
Bedroom was first class. No problems with cleanliness, cleaners were very hospitable. Hotel was first class, accomodation was incredible. Staff, were very curtious, totally enjoyed our time at the hotel apart from ---------------------------------
The heat in the room was unbearable, totally messed up our time at the hotel. We stopped out all day, but trying to sleep & breath in the room, was awful! Twice in the restaurant, we ordered breakfast & waited so long, the dining room totally cleared of holiday makers. We were so upset that we were (for some reason) the only two left in the dining room. Eventually, we felt embarrassed, & left. We never heard anymore about the situation that had arisen. These two issues, were our only grievencies. I'm very hopeful that, from my husbands point of view, we shall return to "The Grosvenor"!!
Location Size of room Room facilities Indoor Pool Evening entertainment
Room oppressively too hot with heating off, no air conditioning. Shower fluctuated between hot and cold. Saturday morning breakfast was a shambles, waiting fifteen minutes for order to be taken, and being dealt with after the arrival of others. Staff running around like headless chickens. Told bar snacks stopped at 18.00 when advertised at 21.00. Doubles and happy hour advertised in bar but not explained properly. Surly attitude of bar staff, and at one point being called "Mate".
Good breakfast great location ,Keith's dinner
Very noisy hotel ,lots of dust on top of wardrobe, expensive bar prices:
Location was excellent.
Good location handy for local buses and rail network. Just a short stroll into town. Hotel facilities were also good. Breakfast was good with a variety of items to choose from.
Interior could do with a bit of TLC
Staff were very helpful. I liked the garden. Our room was quiet.
The shower was awful. One moment hot, one moment cold. They would have fit a thermostatic shower for my family and I to return. My daughter got burnt by the shower. Having a nice shower is pretty basic requirement for a hotel room.
The weather for our three day stay was exceptional and we even had to turn the heating off! Ease of booking, competitive price (found on Trivargo), friendly helpful Staff, clean, cozy ... we'd been before and will certainly visit a third time!
Room was a bit noisy from passing traffic as we had to open the windows to get rid of oppressive heat -- until we switched off all radiators. The clock wasn't working. The selection of fruit at breakfast was lacking -- not like last time, and oh that toaster!
The staff were excellent - very friendly and efficient. The location was great and so were the facilities. The food was amazing with nice variety and we had an amazing day.
We didn't have a particularly good time at the attached diner (not 100% sure it's part of the hotel) but they sorted it out in the end.
