The attitude of the staff, nothing was to much trouble. We were staying overnight on our way to Ferndown. But just because it was only one night they treated us regally.

I have stayed at the Grosvenor on several occasions. It is extremely comfortable, good service, good food and all theStaff are very friendly. Its location is also good for me and members of the Family. I booked this one night stay at the last moment and was very pleased that there was availability.

We had a lovely stop over, we met up with friends who we didn't know were stopping at The Grosvenor (they have stopped many times in the past) and vise versa, so that made it extra special. Our room was lovely, very clean and the huge bed was excellent & comfortable! All the staff were very pleasant & helpful. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. We would definately stop again. Stockbridge was quaint with lovely shops.

Very clean, when I had a minor problem on the first night it was sorted immediately. Staff very friendly. Rooms, while clean, could do with a lick of paint. Eggs Benedict consist of toasted muffin, ham, poached egg and hollandaise sauce, not, as was served here, topped with a large dollop of mayonnaise!

We were v impressed by the afternoon receptionist, especially when we requested a couple of things to be attended to, which she did, with a smile and straight away - excellent staff member. We were having a Special Delivery the following day and it was dealt with immediatley it was received, by the morning (male) receptionist. The evening bar staff was very helpful and polite. Our flowers and chocolates were waiting in our room and the ordered ones for the morning duly delivered at breakfast - all greatly received and enjoyed. The morning dining room staff was very good. A good all-round experience and pleasant return. Our room's bathroom could do have somewhere for toiletries to be places, as there was only a low window ledge for such use - not good. The bathroom is also very cold. I feel that the 'braised belly pork', which was in fact tough, needs to be presented as a braise and not a grill item - it was obviously a rushed dish.

I liked the location, it was centrally located on the main street in the village which was pretty. The exterior was characterful and the restaurant and bar were too with a nice friendly feel. Our room was not situated in the main building but in a modern annexe, I'm not opposed to modern annexe buildings but was under the impression that we were staying in a traditional Georgian hotel. Unfortunately the staircase carpet was worn and coming away from the staircase which not only looks bad but is clearly a trip hazard, this would take 15 mins to fix. At the top of the staircase there was a broken window with a binbag taped over it, the general presentation was tired and tatty. Whilst the room was clean it needed, the bathroom was in need of updating, just a few small touches would make the world of difference. Bar - waited for 10 mins to be served, despite staff walking past, my husband ended up going to the managers office to ask to be served. Breakfast - Average food, Danish was not very fresh, I requested Coffee and had one cup poured for me but a pot wasn't left on the table. Too overpriced for the room that we stayed in.

The hotel was in a great location, very close to the River Test which is why we chose it in the first place. The rooms were spacious and immaculate. The food was amazing, highly recommend eating in the restaurant. The breakfast was lovely, we had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs all included in the price which is extremely reasonable. The hotel is in need of a revamp but given the style and location, it's not essential and doesn't hinder your stay at all.

The Staff were friendly and efficient and nice to see English people in cluded. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Dinner Saturday night offered variety at varying prices. The Wedding Disco was tuned into Bass music only it seemed! We were told it should not affect us but we only found, out about it on booking in!

The bed was very comortable and the room and bathroom very clean. The bar was pleasent and breakfast was just right for us. Check in and out was fast and efficient. the shower control valve was faulty more water was comming out of the taps then the shower head reported to reception on check out. The tea making facilties were good but no plug for the kettle had to use the plug by the T.V. or the ones by the bed having to put the kettle on the floor to boil up.

The location, character and good value. I do think they have a problem with the level of noise from the disco if there is a function, particularly if your room is above the function room or bar. We were told that there was a function on Saturday night and that there would be "some noise till 12pm" and to be fair the disco did stop at 11.30pm But the level of noise is very high (we could hear every word of every song) so forget the idea of getting any sleep before the disco stops.

Location The smell of cheap air freshener. Only a continental breakfast is included in the room rate. Other hotels in the area include full breakfast and charge about the same for rooms. It all feels old fashioned, dark and pokey. Its crying out for a make-over.
